That's not how the web-mining works. Anything that happens to our chain would not affect web mining earnings. The web miners are mining Monero and getting paid out in NEON. Unlike any other pool, with the forum, you are also paid on a per-hash basis, it has nothing to do with whether blocks are found or not

To date, the entire forum in like 5-6 months has mined roughly $250. At the current (very low) sell price for Nucleon, there have been well over $30,000 worth of NEON sent out. So as you can see, I'm really not making shit on this whole deal. And don't take that the wrong way, I'm not upset about it or anything.. the point is not for me to make money on the web mining, it's just a unique way to distribute the coins and give an even playing field to both large and small users

Well, some are. It's the first time I see the price at or below 10k. They sold into some of my buy orders.
It's nice to recover some of my previous sells at a strong discount.

As far as mining goes for the new project, it might make no difference to web miners but it sure will make a difference to you if you can direct that hashpower at something.
Webmining via cpu an asic algo is just a waste and only serves to distribute the coin. Why not choose an algo that is actually cpu minable and cover some of the costs?

I am currently looking for someone who is proficient (or at the very least, semi-familiar) in Go and/or Java (not JavaScript)

I have quietly in the background recruited a few very experienced developers and we are all learning these syntaxs as we go until we find someone who already has the skills. If we don't find the perfect person, I will most likely just teach myself the new languages and do it on my own with help from my friends

It will probably be ASIC-mined if I do what I'm thinking. Remember this, however.. web mining does not change difficulty. You are paid per hash, so if we find 0 blocks you are still making money. You are also not competing with ASICs as they are mining a completely different algorithm. CPU miners via web are not competing with anyone, you are paid a flat rate for your contribution, regardless of pool earnings. This has been and is currently extremely profitable beyond any other coin for a long time now. The top miners are making a shitload of money if they were to dump right away (thank you for not dumping)

Interesting.. I really like the whole webmining.  Kinda protects against ASICS and gives everyone a fair chance.  Would the new idea be based around web mining also?

We are doing well. Approaching 80k members and bots have been beaten now so lots of quiet eyes are on it now

yeah I saw it's expanding quite rapidly, great news and great work! It's a pretty unique method of distribution, and kinda means anyone has a chance of earning a decent amount of coins which is cool!
