@Come-from-Beyond: so if you get 1M Nxt donated on that faucet pool, you are going to give 1000 of it to each single click by any random guy there!
(and one of these guys can play your faucet and empty your pool by repeating the action several times with a dynamic IP change, that is available in any wireless connection nowadays).
If you are going to do that, we prefer to allocate those +4M Nxt to bounties (since your automatic faucet will neutralize our efforts to attract people advertising and spreading the word of Nxt to receive some coins).
Ripple gave away 3000 coins to each member of this forum, and you know what happened Wink

I can add a Nxt faucet widget to RippleGiveaway.com.  I received over 14,000 visits in the last 30 days.

Great. I suppose 240x320 is fine for u.

I'm going to create Nxt Faucet that looks like a small widget, so it could be embedded into a HTML page as IFRAME. If u have a website and willing to add the widget to it, tell me what width and height is better. Is 240x320 good enough?

I ran it through the command line, it got 'java.io.InvalidClassException..' error. I deleted all .nxt files and ran it again, the same error  Sad

Make sure the current directory is the same as where Nxt.zip is situated.

We are going to run a giveaway soon, one of the guys donated 4M of Nxt to suppply this giveaway and also supply a selection of bounties.
What is the volume of your faucet Nxt giveaway (how many coins each time)?

It will be funded by donations. I'm going to give away 1/1000 of the pool volume to a single visitor.

I believe a more purposeful giveaway, when you offer people some limited Nxt for their effort to promote Nxt is much wiser.
I am not sure an automatic faucet is a good move now?!

Bringing more users to Nxt is a good move IMHO.

About open source I think 3rd of January is a good choice, until that date Nxt have got some momentum hopefully!
When the coins will be released?

When all accounts r collected.

I'm getting a lot of "Broken Pipe" exceptions.

Do u see them if u close ur webbrowser? It seems to me that HTTP server embedded into Nxt is buggy.

Once again if someone missed

How to claim the coins

1. Go to http://www.xorbin.com/tools/sha256-hash-calculator
2. Type the secret phrase u used to generate the double hash u attached to ur payment in "Data" field
3. Press "Calculate SHA256 hash" button
4. Copy the content of "SHA-256 hash" field. This is ur "key" value
5. Go to http://88.198.210.245:7875
6. Press yellow lock icon in top left corner
7. Enter any secret phrase. This is other phrase, not the same as u used in step 2. Don't forget it, otherwise u won't be able to get ur coins!
8. Press "Unlock account" button
9. Copy a green number in top left corner. This is ur "account" value
10. Open http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com/?key=[value_from_step_4]&account=[value_from_step_9]
11. U should see "Done" message
12. Open http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com to make sure u see ur account and amount

Example:

In SHA-256 calculator I typed "123" and got "a665a45920422f9d417e4867efdc4fb8a04a1f3fff1fa07e998e86f7f7a27ae3". In Nxt client I typed "777" and got "875119900524031434". After that I'm supposed to open http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com/?key=a665a45920422f9d417e4867efdc4fb8a04a1f3fff1fa07e998e86f7f7a27ae3&account=875119900524031434

Ok.  Even though my client isn't connected to any peers, I can still use my local Nxt client to generate a new secret passphrase to claim my Nxt, correct?

Yes. But why u can't connect to the network? Is there any black-listed peer? If black-listed peers list is not empty then click on tray icon next to it and ur node will try to connect again.

I have two IP addresses blacklisted: 5.135.165.137 and 88.198.210.245.

What is Nxt's P2P port?

7874 for peers
7875 for http clients
7876 for API requests

Edit: 5.135.165.137 runs old soft, u won't connect to it.

How can I add peers?

U can't. Ur client will ask one of the bootstrapping nodes for other peers.

I am using Windows, but still hard to find the way to run it Sad

I'd imagine you would download Java for Windows from Oracle http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html and then go to windows command line and issue the same command 'java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt'.

Thanks.  Now I'm getting the following exception and it doesn't start.

'java.io.InvalidClassException: Nxt$Transaction; incompatible types for field deadline'

I'm using OpenJDK-7.

Delete all *.nxt files and run again.

That worked.  Thanks.

Come-from-beyond, can you upload the client to GitHub?  I can't get mega to work with my browser and it needs to be hosted on github anyway.

Try http://88.198.210.245/Nxt.zip

This is the old version of the client.  Can you upload the newer version that Pouncer is using?

Try again. Should be a new one.
May I ask you to explain a step by step process to run the java client? I am not familiar with the command line java operations.

You need to install java.  On Ubuntu/Debian, run 'sudo aptitude install openjdk-7-jdk'.
Then go to the directory of Nxt.zip and run 'java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt'.
