I have the client running on my loca computer but it just loaded the genesis block and doesn't load any other blocks.
It's stuck at block 0 for 15 minutes now.
I'm connected to 2 peers: 5.135.165.137 and 88.198.210.245

Any faucet or anyone can give me some little coins to start ?

We decided to set bounties for spreading the word about Nxt instead of a faucet.

how is that ?

So if I have this running locally its mining automatically?

Yes, if u don't lock ur account after u unlocked it.

Nice, thanks, will leave it open and see what happens!

I'm afraid we have to pool our coins like Bitcoin miners do. Coz variation on getting a block with a little balance is very high. Most of the blocks are mined by big accounts with 10+ mil coins.

Ahh that's very interesting but makes sense. I still prefer to run the client locally and will just sit on my few if that's the case Smiley

Looks like other nodes on other branch, so they think u r trying to double-spend. Connect to 88.198.210.245 (remove it from the black list) and try again. Deadline does matter coz u don't want to send one transaction twice.

You mean I should connect to http://88.198.210.245:7875 and open my wallet there? Why would I type in my secret phraze on a node not belonging to me? It could be logged. (p.s. 88.198.210.245 is not blacklisted on my local client).

I mean ur node should connect. Of coz u should use a local computer when enter a secret phrase.

PM me with ur new account id, I'll check its balance.

Any word on the source code release?

It's planned to be published on the 3rd of Jan if stakeholders don't decide to postpone the date. We have SHA256 hash of the source file to make sure that current binaries don't contain malware. If u r familiar with disassembling Java bytecode u can get source in 5 mins. They look ugly but still readable.

Can I create multiple tabs on my browser and connect to the local client with multiple wallets at the same time? If all are open, will every one create blocks (if the account has some nxt in it)?

U can. All accounts will be mining.

How does one back up their wallet?  i have it running now and put a few nxt inside, but, how do you back up the wallet? also can you close the computer or have to leave it open.

With mining, if you have coins and leave wallet open then it mines right, but if you transfer your coins to another wallet, does this reset the coin age like with normal pos?

It's BRAINWALLET, u don't need to backup anything, just don't forget the secret phrase. Ur computer must be online to be able to mine blocks.

There is no coin age reset. BCNext and Cunicula devised a novel PoS algo.

I see for example my computer blows up, i can just download the nxt zip again, do it all again and open the wallet with my pass and all my coins are still in there?  this seems a way better idea, and also the fact no coin age is great.

Ur coins r not on ur computer, they r in the blockchain. It's BRAINWALLET.

With some account if I send nxt to another account I get the message "The money is sent", but nothing else happens. I'm connected to other nodes, but the new transaction is not visible under my transaction and no next is taken away from the account. This happens with an account crated after the launch. My original account (that was created before the launch) is able to send nxt from the same pc!

What a deadline was set? Wait when it expires and send again. If the recepient is ur own account then repeat the transaction once again. But while Nxt network doesn't work stable it's better to set deadline to 0.05 hours and repeat a transaction in 5 minutes.

Deadline does not matter here, because no transaction is created.

To explain it better.

1. I have an account A from the pre-sale with 500k Nxt.
2. I've created a new account B after the launch.
3. I've sent 60000 Nxt from A to B with a time of 0.1hour and it arrived right away.
4. Now I try to send 1000 or 20000 back from B to A and get the message "The money is sent", but nothing else happens. Even if I set the time to 2 hours, no transaction is created under my transactions and the balance always stays at 60000.
5. Now I login again with account A (on the same local client) and send 5000 from A to B to check if it works, and the transaction is created and the money arrives few minutes later, sp B has now 65000 Nxt.
6. So I've created an account C, sent 1000 from A to C. It was sent right away. Waited 30 minutes, now I want to send 100 from C to A or C to B, but nothing happens. I get the message "money was sent", but the amount stays the same and no transactions are created.

Maybe the money needs to mature on account B or C in order to be sent??
