Found this interesting article on OEL and how it is solving the inefficiency in the enterprise logistics supply chain.

This is a very comprehensive article that covers the different areas of what OEL is trying to achieve and their unique value proposition, including pain points that the project is aiming to solve, the OEL ecosystem and architecture, tokenomics, distribution of tokens and the roadmap.

In a nutshell, what OEL envisages is an ecosystem which centres around blockchain technology; this should provide a huge array of improvements and efficiency to the current systems. OEL is providing a one-stop solution for every party in the supply chain and a platform which will vastly improve the speed of payments and improve information management.

Hey guys, check out this ICO Examiner article discussing how the United States Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is exploring using blockchain to track aircraft parts in conjunction with Indiana Technology and Manufacturing Companies (ITAMCO).

Anyone who has to gauge logistical risk will see worth not just in the blockchain protocol layer that facilitates the source of value but also the application layer that is used to connect to the technology.

The OEL Foundation themselves are a non-profit organization open to enterprises in the supply chain and logistics industry who believe that measurable case studies will soon replace the concepts and proposals currently dominating the industry.

OEL is an open source decentralized infrastructure for logistics applications

One major problem in the supply chain of enterprise logistic is the unreliable and largely manual paper-based process.

This problem leads to the lack of transparency and the absence of secure, cash flow delays and payment disputes affecting shippers and transporters globally. This situation makes maintaining liquidity very difficult in the transport industry.

The OEL Foundation’s mission is to remove this problem through the adoption of a common, shared, and open source enterprise architecture utilizing blockchain technology.

That's just a small introduction. You can watch this interview of the founder Max Ward. He speaks about the problem and the OEL foundation solution in-depth Smiley

Open Enterprise Logistics will run on a proof of stake blockchain concept, optimizing their chain across scalability, transparency/trust, data security, and sharing rewards.

Scalability: The OEL platform ensures consistent transaction speeds with minimal cost effects.

Transparency/Trust: OEL’s ecosystem provides a completely open platform through decentralization and blockchain technology, ensuring transparency and trust to all market makers.

Data Security: OEL provides full privacy and security of user data, abiding by regulations set forth in GDPR.

Sharing Rewards: OEL rewards supply chain market hitters when they share their supply chain data and locations through the distribution of their ICO token, OPN.

An impressive aspect of the OEL Foundation is the team’s dedication to maintaining industry standards and best practices in the development of the system. With the help of blockchain technology, the organization will eliminate disputes by confirming records on the blockchain the moment it is verified e.g after a satisfied business receiving their goods on time.

The OEL Foundation’s solutions are also designed in a such a way that benefits the transport industry as a whole instead of only benefiting one or two major companies.

Yup, bringing in more transparency and data from the supply chain together is incredibly beneficial to every company and process of global trade. It helps reduce costs and remove inefficiencies.

Got this really nice article on how OEL can help to optimize the global supply chain and it also explains why blockchain is a necessity for them Cheesy

Nice. I really liked the following fact:

Quote
Extreme lack of supply logistics control in things such as timetables, inventory management and shipping destinations mean that these developing nations rack fines up that can be easily avoided with more accurate systems.

I think it presents a huge opportunity for OEL to bring solutions to emerging markets.

Security and privacy is not a problem in the ecosystem as the OEL Foundation complies with industry standards and best practices to ensure that users have full control over their personal data in addition to protecting the data as much as possible.

The OEL Foundation will also introduce a rewards-based model where users are rewarded in OPN Tokens (the platform’s official utility token) for sharing their supply chain data, a move that incentivizes participants fairly for their positive contributions to the platform.

After reading the OEL Foundation mission statement, I can't help but get excited for where this project is going to go!

Enterprise logistics in the supply chain is burdened by an unreliable and largely manual paper-based process. The resulting lack of transparency and absence of secure, trusted information creates cash flow delays and payment disputes affecting shippers and transporters globally. This situation makes maintaining liquidity very difficult in the transport industry.

The OEL Foundation’s mission is to remove this burden through the adoption of a common, shared, and open source enterprise architecture utilising blockchain technology.

Now I see that one of the factors that hinder the growth of some blockchains is their inability of seemless co-functionality. I hope the new OEL will rectify those issues.
That's right  Grin

Everything will be managed by dApps and smartcontracts. For example, drivers can be incentivized and will be able to receive micro-rewards using OPN tokens. There's also something called Fatigue Management – the tracking and management of driver hours. This can be greatly improved so safety and reliability in transport networks themselves could be improved also. Next to a promising high grade architecture, the alliance is growing day by day Gone are the days of headaches in logistics!

At this time the Logistics industry needs a lot of changes, integration with blockchain is a good choice to develop this sector. OEL Foundation is one of the new players in this sector that offers several advantages, I think this project will have a good impact on the logistics industry.
Like you said, it will make same major changes and it will be great for the logistics industry.
Thank you very much for your kind words and supporting the project  Smiley

As a proof-of-stake blockchain, the OEL Enterprise Architecture is optimised across four key criteria:

1. Low costs and consistent transaction speed – For scalability
2. Data confidentiality – For enterprise-grade applications
3. Rewarding data sharing – For bridging the gap between the physical supply chain and the decentralized ledger
4. Open collaborative governance – For ensuring standards required of all participants in the supply chain.
