Hello everyone,

As you know we are planing to start shipping on Monday.

So if you haven't done so already, please send us your order number and TXID.

We cannot ship without both payments in order.  Smiley

You could always send a screenshot of the transaction from the exchange it that would be the case.
Easily faked with "Inspect element" and just editing it to be whatever you want it to be.

For this run we found it was mostly people we know that ordered, some of whom I've had the pleasure of meeting in person. I strongly doubt someone will try to cheat us or others out of 0.005 BTC because it would be swiftly noticed; and the party at fault would be publicly banned from ordering from us again.

We agree that for the future better measures can be implemented. And we will be looking at options after shipping these out. However, for this run it seems that this potential event would be quite limited in scope if it were to occur.

Since this series will continue with higher denominations (therefore higher risk), it will be imperative to mitigate this for the next run.

The next note in the series, code name: 'blue jay' will be 0.01 BTC.

We appreciate you brought this to our attention.

Yes it would be problematic if honest customer pays from exchange where they do not control private key.  Dishonest customer notices this (because exchanges tend to batch transactions and are easily visible) and says that was my transaction.  You would not likely get the exchange to investigate this, so it would potentially never get resolved.
There is an easy solution for that: "Though luck". Either you can proof you bought the note and loaded it or you get nothing. Plus, as they used an exchange to sent the funds, it cannot be returned. ‍

I do agree that Polymerbit should have used multiple address so it would be a lot easier to track who paid what.

Thank you the info, but just to clarify:

Cannot anyone see TXIDs, since it is all the same address they have to send to?

E.g. this 0.05BTC with this TXID has not been send by me, but how would they ever know that if I just mail this TXID?
870440beea57194939b61b73b0ecd3791e7f11259375152ed8034ed635afdd36

I understand of course we don't aim at cheating...

polymerbit would notice two people using the same txid, he would then know something was up and request that both people sign a message from the sending address. only the real sender would be able to sign.

Exactly this. We will keep a close eye on the BTC coming in and the associated addresses.

Each order will have an associated TXID. We are building a spreadsheet for it.

That is why we need your order number. We can then match all. And see who is outstanding  Wink

This is why you should use a payment processor that gives each customer their own BTC address to pay...  makes it super easy to keep track of any and all orders.  Wink

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Okay, we have started contacting everyone for their TXID for the notes and order numbers.

US residents can only have their notes loaded once they confirm their arrival.

Step 3: Once you received your note, please let us know.

Regarding the scrip notes; since they were not working correctly at the time of launch... we want to offer everyone who attempted to spend them yesterday retroactive use.

Even if you have placed an order through PayPal, we will refund you the difference if you present valid and peeled scrip note codes + SN.

I apologise for the confusion and mess this has caused. But we will do everything we can do make it right.

Thank you,

I send you the txid via mail!

Looking forward receiving the note!

What a joke, they are all sold out but only 5 people sent to the address on the site to fund them, and I was the only one that sent extra btc for the tx fee. Who would have thought I would have been the easy customer to deal with?!

You are an idiot - You cannot gauge how many people bought because of that... Huh

How do you know someone didn't request a new address etc etc?

Anyhow, I'd still never deal with you again personally, and this is why - all you do is whine and complain, no matter what the outcome.... Did you get one? Are you happy for that at least? Tongue

Limit now increased to 4 per person until it sells out.

I just purchased one of them, do I need to send 0.005BTC + fees to 3N36sCJXN1iQEzjJm7uhXBCZc2g56SppJ2?
How will you know which customer paid and which not?

Sorry maybe for the dumb question...

Krikke

There are no dumb questions:) Most likely email your order number and txid of the .005 bitcoin transaction to the return email address of the order confirmation you got from Polymerbit. Save the txid so you can prove you sent the btc as requested. That should do it.

Transaction IDs are specific to the transaction. Just go to https://www.blockchain.com and enter your txid in the search box you will see you sent the bitcoin to the requested address.
