Kainos launch date will be announced on March 1. Stay tuned!!

CASE STUDY: HACKEN PERFORMED SECURITY ANALYSIS OF ONELEDGER

Company name:  OneLedger

Company description: OneLedger’s mission is to simplify businesses’ adoption of blockchain technology and its integration into their specific business applications and products. The company believes that the applications of the future will maintain individual data sovereignty and operate across interconnected blockchain networks enabling seamless independent user interactions. OneLedger specializes in providing solutions catering to the Supply Chain (specifically Blockchain EDI) and the Real Estate industry.

Service: Hacken performed a blockchain security review of the OneLedger protocol, analyzed blockchain implementation and tested the potential attacker endpoints, reviewed the architecture and made a smart-contract audit.

Problems faced by OneLedger
OneLedger requested a third-party security audit to help identify potential weaknesses and blind spots across the entire infrastructure. This included checking potential entry points that hackers may utilize to compromise the network, smart contract, RPC, etc.

Hacken Service Summary

Hacken performed the blockchain security testing for OneLedger. The project scope was:

1. Architecture Analysis and Threat Modelling

2. Manual and Automated Code Review

3. Smart Contract Audit

4. Manual Validators testing

During the project, consultants found some security issues and the Hacken engineers made recommendations on how to fix them.

Security engineers performed threats analysis, architecture review and prepared a security testing plan covering all the potential security issues.

The smart contract within the scope was manually reviewed and analyzed with static analysis tools. Security engineers found some issues during the initial smart contract audit.

The customer redesigned the smart contract and fixed all found issues. However, low to medium issues were found during the secondary smart contract audit. The customer has already begun working on fixing the medium to high priority issues as recommended by our team.

Summing Up
According to the review, the Hacken auditors recommend the OneLedger Protocol to fix security issues to achieve a secure state. The original code of OneLedger was noted to be of very good quality. The OneLedger team has already started working on the bug fixes, and after the fixes are made, the Hacken team will perform a review of fixes and re-test critical components of the protocol.

Kainos Update

Hello Ledgerians,
Bugs, Develop, Fixes, Updates, Build, Test... These are the only words we've been hearing at the OneLedger office for the
past couple of months. The developers have continuously been in action, trying to shoot down each bug, while still maintaining the high quality of the code. Progress has been significant, and we are now ready to announce a Mainnet launch date.

Kainos
For those of you who do not know, Kainos is the first part of our two-phased Mainnet launch. Kainos lays down the platform for future releases such as Staking, Governance, Dapps etc. Hence, it is very critical for the team to get things right on the first go—an essential factor here being the network stability and the security of the protocol.
The security audit team, Hacken, handed us a final list of bugs a few days ago, and now our team is fixing the bugs, while simultaneously integrating new features.
Looking at the current situation and after evaluating the auditors final report, and giving the developers some breathing space to test the fixed bugs, we may need a few days in April to finish all the critical steps and procedures before a successful Kainos launch. Hence, the team has made a strategic decision to schedule the Kainos launch for April 30, 2020.
We understand that some members of the community may be disappointed by extending the timeline by a month. Fair enough, but this is overly important for OneLedger as a project and the well-being of the network in the long-run, rather than making a hasty decision to launch a faulty product.
Now let's move onto the most awaited topic, Kainos launch. Now that we have established a date, here are some of the details of the activities/releases which will take place over the next few weeks:
OneWallet Beta 2.0 Launch: a selected group of users will be invited to test the functionality of the OneWallet Beta 2.0, followed by a full OneWallet launch for the public around the Kainos launch date.
Exchange listing: OLT will be listed on a major exchange for global user adoption.
Secret project revealed: Our team has been conducting research on a product which will bridge the gap between Businesses and Consumers. This is a game-changer for OneLedger and allows our consumers to adopt the network further, and continue our march towards mass adoption.
Partnerships/Validator announcements.
Token Migration: this will take place after Kainos launch, to allow users to start utilizing all the functionalities of our network. Instructions will be posted in the coming weeks.
The above list only includes a few announcements. We have many other exciting news as well. Get ready for some eventful months ahead.

Once again, thank you for all your support.

The #Ledger Nano S BOLOs app development is now complete. The code will be submitted to the Ledger team soon.

Get ready for the #OneWallet 2.0 Beta launch on April 2, 2020.

------------------------

Hey Ledgerians,

The OneLedger team will be conducting an AMA tomorrow on Telegram.

Please get your questions ready.
We look forward to speaking with you 🙂

---------------------

Hey Ledgerians,

We thank everyone who participated in yesterday's Telegram AMA and made it a success.

Here is a brief summary of the AMA: https://www.oneledger.io/blog/telegram-ama-recap1

Hello Ledgerians,

The OneLedger team held an AMA on March 3, 2020 on Telegram. The AMA was conducted by the OneLedger Founder, David Cao, and the Director of Product, Aly Kassam.

This AMA was attended by many people from our community. We do thank you all for your tremendous support. The major topic of discussion was the mainnet launch date and we are very confident of meeting it.

Our team will be launching the first phase of our Mainnet (Kainos) on April 30, 2020 with OneWallet 2.0 Beta going live on April 2, 2020.

Here is a brief recap of the AMA:

1. Can you confirm 100% that mainnet will be released on 30th April with no more delays?
Aly: With the Security Audit completed, we can ensure the April 30th date will be met.

2. Can we get a recorded demo of a PoC to confirm that there is a working product? It can just be fictional but to show it full cycle of a working product connected to a legacy system.
Aly: We have the 850 810 EDI specs for Supply Chain and have completed Software Development Architecture, but the development has been put on hold for the PoCs as the Development team is completely focused on Mainnet Delivery.

3. Are you sure 1 month will be enough time to fix any feedbacks or bugs for OneWallet based on your Beta and Public release dates?
Aly: We have posted a date for OneWallet Beta, Dev version and Public release on CoinmarketCal as well as in the pinned message. We are confident of meeting all these targets.
All dates can be found here: click here

4. Will this secret project be announced in March? Will it be ready to use same time Mainnet launches? If not, what timeframe?
Aly: The secret project will be announced within the next 2 months, surely before April 30, 2020. We have conducted the research and the development will begin promptly after the mainnet launch, as our team is fully focussed on mainnet at the moment.

5. Shouldn't OLT burn some of the team tokens as a penalty of these delays?
David: Refer to the token economic paper, we do have token burn plan.

6. How is it possible that you guys see very late in the process that things like a security audit can actually take very long?
David: Security is our top priority and we are always working towards making our protocol safer by the day. We have done internal testing before we even reached out to security auditors. Even though we reached them late, we completed this process with them much ahead than many of our competitors.

7. What is the plan to help ICO investors recover their initial investment. Team seems to have not been able to generate any hype around this project.
Aly: We are providing applications over the OneLedger Network that will help to increase demand for the token.

8. If we don't see mainnet launched on April 30, then trust will be lost forever. What measures team is taking to ensure, at all costs, that the launch happens on time?
Aly: All other projects have been put on hold to ensure the launch date. We are confident that we will meet this date.

9. Due to this delay, will the staking and the rest of the other features that were scheduled in q2, be delayed too? You have mentioned before that you will support 10 blockchains with mainnet? How many do you support now? When the rest will be implemented.
David: We are doing our best to meet all the deadlines. Development can be complete but we have to do a lot of testing from different perspectives such as Functional, Operational & Security Testing as these are the core values on which OneLedger stands. We will keep you updated. We are actively working on 2 blockchains right now. However, integrating other blockchains must be relatively simpler because of modularization we did at the code level.

10. Can you please elaborate on this "secret project" and why it will be a game changer for mass adoption? Please throw us a bone here, the community needs some real positive info. Morale is at an all time low
Aly: We're in talks with various charitable organizations, with regards to crypto donations, which would be phase one of the project, scaling into eCommerce.

11. So basically this means people can donate to any charity using any crypto currency and OneLedger will pay out fiat to the charity after conversion. And the same with ecommerce?
Aly: So we are planning a partnership for settling the crypto to fiat payments. OneLedger will facilitate the token payment for any token that is supported in our network and will work with a partner for settlement and payment to the charity/retailer.

12. Please explain more about the UTILITY of ONELEDGER, the real life use case and application.
Aly: The utility is the token usage in the network. We currently have Domains that can be bought and sold in our network, we are extending that to businesses to own and host their domains. Additionally, I just mentioned the payments project that we are actively working on.

13. Why would an exchange collaborate with you over other projects regarding these payments?
Aly: The project is for Charities and eCommerce Platforms. For the settlement piece, we have spoken to a few partners to do the settlement piece, and they are actively engaged in doing this with us. That being said, the reason any exchange would integrate with us is because this isn't a significant amount of work for them. It's just creating an API call, and it's more money for them.

14. Can you share your experience and journey with the OneLedger project? What is the biggest achievement you are most proud of?
David: Working on complicated and challenging projects and making an impact in the blockchain world, is what powers OneLedger everyday. The ride has been bumpy, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. The achievements in OneLedger have been updated to the community constantly such as TPS, Wallet, ledger support. I am proud of them.

With this, the team ended the AMA. Here are Aly's closing remarks:
Aly: Thanks a lot for participating in the AMA. There were some really great questions from the community that kept us on our toes. We really appreciate you all taking the time to participate in the AMA, we know that it's probably really late at night for some of you.

Kainos and Security Audit Update

Hello Ledgerians,

The last couple of months have been very intense in terms of Development at OneLedger. Getting things ready for the Mainnet is a significant task, and our team is handling the challenge well. The team is very excited about how things are moving along.
OneLedger is currently getting its code reviewed by Hacken. Hacken is a top tier cybersecurity expert based out of Ukraine. Both the teams have been collaborating since few weeks for security auditing, and things are proceeding well.

Let's give you a quick overview of how the auditing process takes place.

So, for those of you who do not know, what is a Security Audit?
Security Audit is a structured approach taken by an auditing company (in this case, Hacken) based on a defined criteria, to make sure that there are no gaps within the code. In a world where hacks are very common nowadays, it becomes all the more essential to take appropriate measures to ensure that the quality of the code is well maintained. Especially when millions of dollars worth of tokens are going to be migrated from Testnet to the OneLedger mainnet.

How does this process work?
The Hacken team reviews and tests specific parts of the code, and gets back to our team with reports regarding where we may have missed certain things. After this, our team starts fixing the code to make sure the code is clean. This is an ongoing process that takes us closer and closer to the mainnet launch.

Now, moving to the Kainos launch which everyone is so excited about. Things are looking very good at the moment. We will provide an update regarding the Launch Date on March 1, 2020. No need to panic! Along with an update, we will also be providing a list of activities and product launches that will lead up to the Mainnet launch. This list will include... let's wait for that, as we do not want to spoil all the fun now. The next few weeks are going to be explosive.

During the next couple of weeks, we will also provide updates regarding the Security Audit and what's happening.

Thank you for supporting us. The launch is going to be massive!!

Telegram AMA - Recap

Hey Ledgerians,

The OneLedger team conducted an AMA on December 12, 2019. This AMA was co-hosted by our Founder, David Cao and the Director of Product, Aly Kassam.

The anticipation for this AMA was very high due to the major partnership announcement which our team was going to reveal during the AMA. The community presented a ton of questions to David and Aly, which were gladly welcomed.

We would like to thank everyone who participated during this AMA. As we have mentioned on many previous occasions, it is the strength of this community which takes the project forward, and we are very proud to say that we have an extremely keen and passionate community.

Let's give you a quick recap of the AMA.

1. What is the short term and long term goal of OneLedger project?

David: For short term, we will do our best to execute our roadmap. And for the long term, we will aim to build the best business ecosystem through the OneLedger blockchain.

2. How will you improve your marketing strategy going forward after mainnet launch?

Aly: We are constantly improving the Marketing Strategy, through HubSpot and Google. Currently we have been A/B Testing with Google Ads in several different geographies, and are running our website, blog and email campaign strategies through HubSpot. We will definitely be advertising more post-mainnet, catering ads to both Enterprise and Crypto Communities.

3. How many clients does OLT have, and what % are generating revenue?

David: We are currently conducting POCs for a few different projects, especially in Real Estate and Supply Chain industries. When deals are finalized, we will reveal more details.

4. What is the status of the EdenChain partnership with OLT ?

Aly: With regards to EdenChain, we will cooperate with them after our mainnet launches. It only makes sense to have cross-chain integrations once we have a platform of our own.

5. How can you compete with competitors like Quant that already have a first movers advantage?

Aly: It's been more than half a year since I've looked at Quant so some my understanding may be outdated. That being said, Quant is an Operating System setting on top of Overledger, like Windows or macOS. So Quant is essentially an application.  All of the interoperability complexity lies in Quant and not in Overledger. Meaning the application layer interconnects into other networks and not the blockchain itself, that's good because it makes them faster to market and they can onboard more networks faster. However, that means that network finality is still on the originating network and not on Overledger, which poses a problem if you want near real time transactions to happen and you're waiting for Bitcoin or Ethereum's finality. OneLedger's interoperability layer is at the protocol level, making it more complex to build, but allowing for tokens to be frozen on their originating network and regenerated in a OneLedger Account, which optimizes the transaction speed. Rather than waiting for long periods and paying higher transaction fees for Bitcoin or Ethereum, you can transfer your tokens to OneLedger, transact on it at 4000 TPS and then eventually you can reconcile that back to the originating network when you need to.

6. Is OLT Blockchain solving the Data transfer problem solved by LINK and also the multi blockchain interoperability problem solved by QNT - how is the data transferred from non Blockchain applications to OneLedger? What mechanism is used?

Aly: For data transfer from non blockchain applications, we are using the following two approaches

We can have a secure VPN channel open between non blockchain applications and our chain for consistent and reliable data transfer
Our Validators have the capabilities to query for the same source and confirm with consensus about the validity of data, but this will be a bit slow.
We will use one of these approaches based on the need.

7. Explain the utility of OLT, what’s the real-life use case and application of OLT?

Aly: We are working on a few different use cases, starting with Domain Management and moving that into eCommerce services centralized around our interoperability functionality. We will release more around this strategy as we move forward with it, but rest assure that we are working towards having this shortly after our Kainos launch.

8. OLT raised 15 million, would you say the team has enough funds for 5 years out?

David: Depending on the market situation, the fund of OneLedger is good enough to run a few years.

9. You have been marketing more lately. Will this trend continue? Your biggest weakness appears to be the lack of social media content.

Aly: Yes definitely, this trend will continue. We are working on creating a more effective social media strategy and you will definitely see more of us during the coming months.

10. Please tell us the 3 most important reasons why someone should invest in OneLedger?

David: We are the first project to complete actual interoperability at the protocol level, across Ethereum and Bitcoin. We are building commerce applications and SDKs to take advantage of the interoperability and simultaneously we are building enterprise solutions in the Supply Chain and Real Estate industries.

11. Will there be seeking to collaborating with other similar projects like OLT, Insolar, or will there be 100% competition between them?

David: We will not be competing with anyone as this is a new industry and we foster growing together rather than competing. We will definitely look forward to any possible collaborations in the future.

12. Why Adastra is so important for OneLedger?

Aly: Adastra is important to us as they have an established clientele, and have built Mobile, AI, and IoT systems for fortune 500 companies. We will be assisting them with blockchain infrastructure for their customer base and be able to onboard more businesses to blockchain. We will have more updates on our partnerships in the near future.

13. From what I can see, OneLedger seems to be a full blockchain solution from start to finish. Ethereum is limited in what it can do and scale as technology advances. Is it good to say that OneLedger is similar to Ethereum but completely scalable and more advanced?

Aly: We have definitely made some gains in various areas, including transaction speed and transaction finality, especially through our interoperability. Once ETH and BTC are added to your OLT accounts, you can operate on them instantaneously.

14. How about improving the marketing effort in crypto community..AMAs in popular trading &crypto news groups, media coverage in top news agencies, and influencer marketing...will the marketing team share the marketing plan with the community?

David: The team is working hard on marketing, we encourage the community to work with us together to make OneLedger become the most famous project in the world. We will be creating more effective social media campaigns and influencer outreach once we move closer towards our mainnet launch, and then towards staking, governance etc. We will be organizing webinars for supply chain companies, and also reaching out to universities to conduct educational sessions for developers.

15. What are you doing to improve the current situation with exchanges (low liquidity) and token price. ICO investors are sitting at a loss.

David: Regarding liquidity on exchanges, we cannot comment on it. But we expect the token to become more utilized once we launch mainnet and start developing on our own network.

16. Will the team develop iOS and Android app for the one wallet. 2. How will the team develop a marketing strategy and adoption strategy after mainnet release? 3. Will the roadmap be updated in the future along with the growth of OneLedger?

Aly:

1. Yes it’s on our roadmap

2. The Adoption will require marketing around the wallet, partnerships for applications to integrate with the wallet. We are steadily working on all of these, to ensure OneLedger’s success, in addition to Google Search Ads.
3. Yes we actively update the Roadmap.

17. Who are the 10 nodes in testnet? Pchain, Tomo, Quark etc is operating your nodes ?

David: Since we have a lot of changes and updates rolling out constantly, as part of our last sprint to the mainnet, we did not open nodes to our partners yet.

18. Can you pls give sample use cases for below?
1. Enterprise client using OLT Blockchain 2. Enterprise client using OLT to connect to and use Ethereum blockchain.

Aly:
1. Enterprise client using OLT would be anyone using our Blockchain EDI Solution, see https://www.oneledger.io/blockchain-edi . It is also something Adastra will be taking to market as solution with us.

2. For Ethereum Blockchain, Enterprise Clients can use ETH for payment, with instant finality also through interoperability, private Enterprise Ethereum systems can get access through OneLedger, to create interconnectivity between different blockchains that an enterprise hosts.

19. When mainnet launches, will ADASTRA start using OneLedger right away?

Aly: Adastra will be co-operating with us to reach out to enterprises in the private/public sectors. OneLedger's Private Solution is already available for usage and Adastra will immediately start with Private consortium blockchains.

20. What are some big Adastra clients that OLT could work with/leverage?

Aly: These are some of the clients in retail  and Pharma https://adastracorp.com/about-us/#our-clients

21. Can we say that 2020 is the year of the OLT?

Aly: Definitely higher focus on Application development and Enterprise customers in 2020.

22. How we can swap our OLT tokens? Kucoin will support token swap?

Aly: Yes we are in conversations with them currently and finalizing the process.

23. Would it make sense to use OLT for interoperable transactions on exchanges? Say, i have token A and i want to sell it to buy token B, now rather than first exchanging it to ETH, BTC or USD i can directly buy token B through OLT's solution?

Aly: Yes it is definitely possible, but it would be a Dapp acting as a DEX on top of our protocol.

When is the mainnet launch and token swap? As far as I remember it was planned for Q4 and now is the middle of last month of this Q. So will mainnet be launched in this month?

Please read this article gembira : https://www.oneledger.io/blog/kainos-launch-announcement

So the first version of mainnet will be in Q1 next year only? When will happens token swap and when will be available staking here? How many coins will be eeded for delegating?

Yes first version of mainnet will be ready in Q1 and second version of mainnet will be ready in Q2. Kainos and Kratos
Token swap and staking will be available during Kratos. ( 2020 Q2)

As far as I remember the first version should be live in Q4 this year. So have you postponed roadmap or what?
Do you have plans to create own DEX?

We have an update for you regarding the Kainos Launch.

Hey Ledgerians,

Check out this great article about OneLedger. A summary of what’s in store for 2020.
It is going to be a busy year ahead and our team is definitely ready for the challenge to bring mass blockchain adoption.

Why OneLedger (OLT) Is the Coin to Watch For 2020

Blockchain technology is making massive strides and more and more people are waking up to the realization of the solutions that this relatively new round of technology offers with even institutions not getting left behind. The blockchain revolution is sweeping through the whole world like a wild wire with many governments in the last couple of months looking for ways to explore this amazing tech. Recently, the Chinese President Xi Jinping said China must make a “greater effort” to develop and apply blockchain technologies and gain an “edge over other major countries.” The comments came just one day after Mark Zuckerberg appeared in front of the U.S. Congress to make the case for Libra. Zuckerberg argued, “China is moving quickly to launch a similar idea in the coming months. We can’t sit here and assume that because America is the leader today that it will always get to be the leader if we don’t innovate.”

A blockchain is a time-stamped series of immutable records of data that is managed by a cluster of computers not owned by any single entity. Each of these blocks of data (i.e. block) is secured and bound to each other using cryptographic principles (i.e. chain). The blockchain network has no central authority — it is the very definition of a democratized system. Since it is a shared and immutable ledger, the information in it is open for anyone and everyone to see. Hence, anything that is built on the blockchain is by its very nature transparent and everyone involved is accountable for their actions. Blockchain brings solutions such as trust, security, and transparency to supply chains, global trade, international payments, transport system, healthcare and much more which is why the tech is in high demand with many institutions keen to explore this newfound tech.

OneLedger is one of many blockchain projects out there trying to bring blockchain solutions to enterprises and ensure the mass adoption of this tech in supply-chain, logistics, transports, and many other industries. As the name suggests, OneLedger is a universal protocol that aims to solve the problem of interoperability by ensuring different blockchains e.g. btc, eth, neo, xlm can all interact with each other on the OLT protocol thereby making the process of enterprise blockchain adoption smooth and easy. Different blockchains have their strengths in different aspects like scalability, throughput, smart contracts, etc. OneLedger ensures that enterprises have access to all these solutions on a single platform with the use of a customizable private/public sidechains.

OneLedger was launched during the dip of 2018 around June but the project has been focused on building the platform with the testnet and explorer already launched. Going to the first quarter of 2020, the project looks well set to bring more enterprise adoption of blockchain technology. There many triggers that make OneLedger standout going into the new year and I’ll discuss the main ones here.

OneLedger Mainnet Launch

OneLedger was launched in June 2018 and ever since the team has been committed to building the platform to become enterprise-ready and it’s all coming together now with the mainnet expected to launch in the Q1 of 2020. This will be a huge milestone for the project which is a member of the BiTA which comprises some of the biggest companies from the supply chain, transport, and logistics sector meaning these companies can start leveraging blockchain solutions through the OneLedger platform soon.

Here is the Mainnet roll-out schedule:

OneWallet Launch

https://miro.medium.com/max/1024/1*XPeYizqflPlOtXCwI_hsBQ.jpeg

OneWallet is an interoperable wallet that handles transfers from different blockchains e.g. Ethereum and Bitcoin accounts into OneLedger, these tokens can then be traded across the OneLedger network instantaneously. The OneWallet also allows for Domain Management and Domain Transfers, providing a user-friendly naming convention for sending tokens on the networks we support. OneWallet is comprised of OneVault, a local storage component, and the OneLedger SDK. OneWallet is the true definition of interoperability as it will allow people to be able to manage their assets on different blockchains on a single wallet and lets them perform transactions across different chains.

Staking

Staking is another interesting feature that will be coming on the OneLedger network after mainnet launch. Staking allows anyone to earn passive income on the network by helping to secure the network running OneLedger node. Staking on the OneLedger network is easy and anyone with the hardware requirements and token requirements can stake their tokens. Minimum of 3M tokens will be required to run a validator node on the network and people who can’t afford that much can also stake by delegating their tokens to validators and earn a portion of the network fees. Staking on the OLT platform has dual advantages as it gives people the means of earning passive income and also increases the value of their earnings with staking moping a sizeable amount of OLT tokens from circulation.

Enterprise Adoption

The end goal of every blockchain project out there is mass adoption. OneLedger is no different as it is a gateway between enterprise systems and other public/private chains. OneLedger aims to provide a one-stop solution for enterprise blockchain applications in the form of modules. OneLedger aims to aggressively pursue enterprise adoption once mainnet goes live and they are already preparing grounds for it by being on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) which exposes the network to a broad range of enterprises from many industries and also being among different organizations like BiTA which is an organization formed to promote adoption of blockchain tech in industries like supply chain, transport and logistics with many top companies already a part of this organization.

With all the above set to come in Q1/Q2 of 2020 from the OneLedger team, I believe exciting times are ahead for this project which makes me believe that this is definitely one of the projects to watch out for in the coming year because there are just so many potentials that this project has got.
