Well, I see you posted the charity web addresses on the ORCA Coin home page.  But still there is work to do.  An API grid for direct link to each charity wallet would be better.  I checked the first web site, which has a "donate here" page.  Perhaps you can get them to post the API grid as well, once LAZY COINS is running.

Frankly, I think you should pursue getting on an other exchange, such as Coin-E, Vircurex, Coinedup, CoinEx, bter.com, BTC-e, Poloniex.  Cryptsy is too expensive to get on... you would have to buy a few thousand votes with BTC to be listed.

Thank you Litoshi.  Great comments.  We are working hard in the background to promote this coin.  We took a lot of time to build a secure coin that will have long life.  We are in contact with ocean charities at the moment to ask them to display a wallet address on their website.  Users can then donate directly to them.

Once the coin is listed on an exchange, get in contact with the Ocean Fund, and other Ocean Charities, and with a little guidance, you can help them setup an account at the exchange.  Once they have a wallet address, they can have coins sent to them.  The contributors buy the coins, or part coins at lazyCoins.

If you convince the charities that it is in THEIR interest to accept BTC and ORCA coins, they will contact their frequent contributors and get the info out.  Need to make the purchase and contribution as easy as possible, and idiot-proof.  There is no second chance to get interest going in a failed launch.

ALSO.........Once the LAZYCOIN exchange is set up and running, the devs need to be active in the BLOGS where the potential coin buyers are.  Get the word out, but dont do it until the exchange is fully functional.  If a customer fails the first time to get a coin or make a contribution, they will not return.  The system has to work the first time, everytime.

It would be beneficial if the devs sold coins right off the ORCA Coin home page.  You could accept BTC, LTC, DOGE.  You then give the purchaser several choices of charities to send the coins to, which the web site sends on to the respective wallet at the exchange.

There is a lot of work for the devs here, but if you want to make the cash, you gotta put in the sweat.

Does anyone else have trouble syncing lately ?

Create a .conf file in appdata/roaming/orcacoin.

Simply make a new textfile and paste this in it ;

connect=62.254.202.134
connect=62.254.202.137
addnode=62.254.202.137
addnode=62.254.202.134

then "save as" and name it "orcacoin.conf". You have to use "" or it won't save the extension and it won't work.

After that, orcacoin.qt should connect and sync just fine.

If that helped, consider tipping the Ocean Conservation fund : 4Zmi4EPtCU5RqoE2967UzYSoaNapnU4wRQ and/or yours truly : 4QiP97wB7Z4gfQEmGWTWH2hGJyGVd9pR4o

I mined quite a bit of this coin, I think that with the right PR this could be big. Look at what happened with Auroracoin. Specualtors and investors are always ready to jump on the next train.
Good PR is where the Orca team needs to step up. Or are we talking about one person here ?

Anyway, I'd like to sell some of my coins to you guys for a fair price before it hits the exchanges. I have to much to be able to sell at an exchange without crashing the price.

PM with with any buy offers.

Thanks for your support Joerii - we are a small but committed team.  We have also had support from experienced crypto software developers.

We welcome any PR suggestions.  At the moment, we feel it is very important to get the coin listed so that people can start trading it.

So dev, can you show us your communication between Orcacoin and the sea charity organisations? I have asked you this at least a week ago, stil no aswer?

How can you expect me not to think you have used this orca thing as a marketing tool to create goodwill?
I do not think that asking people to donate some of their coins to charity could be seen as a marketing tool.  On this site the main emphasis seems to be a quick profit.  Charitable coins are likely to do less well.  We were taken by surprise by the extraordinary interest in the coin.

We developed a strong coin which we hope will have a long life.  We hope Orcacoin will generate interest in, and hopefully some funds, for ocean conservation.  The donations are voluntary.  Nobody has to donate to us if they do not want to - donations can be made directly to the charities.

When we make our first donation, I will ensure that you receive a message showing the details. Thank you for helping us with our coin.
