This has been an interesting thread to read.

A good experiment, I am following it with interest to see how things go.

I'm incredibly interested as a holder in Quark. I feel like QRK will essentially be in the same spot as this coin, so i'm trying to get ideas from the problems we run into here.

Another interesting part of this project is the price determination. It's hard for me to see how people currently value this coin/will value it.

Usually the determining value if the difficulty to mine, and also the surrounding hype, but both this are prone to high market fluctuations. We have the difficulty to mine, but without the hype.

It's an interesting situation. Premine is rare, but not quite rare enough due to the amount of current holders, and the volume of the one exchange we are on. All it would take is a bigger exchange and I believe Premine would really take off. Essentially, there needs to be more wealth distribution.

On a bigger exchange, the popularity of this coin would be enhanced. This also leads to more distribution.

This won't be like Quark or any other coin's end.  The no mining of coins is what gathered the interest whereas the no mining of coins for other coins is what will lose interest.  BitCoin will be another story though.  It's established.  Alt's, nope.  There is always another Alt to mine for coins.  Premine isn't a good indicator of what will happen once a coin is completely mined.  Premine is a whole new way of distributing coins.

Now the price is on the run 0.00015BTC

I am too late for a few coins?

Jesus, this is like your 6th or 7th time asking for coins now in this thread. We don't want indiviuals to hoard their coins, we want them to spread to users that are new to premine.

Agree - we need to find more venues for passing out coins. I do however bear in mind that at least some of the people getting coins multiple times are passing them on.

Maybe just giving them out as mining rewards would be the best.. I keep going back and forth on this because I don't mine though.

But miners are typically more active in their communities than other crypto giveaway users. I'm thinking we get an automated lottery setup so that we have 'somewhat' steady TX fees, and then we announce a short term, random 10 PMC mining block reward period in the main alt cryptos forum. Possibly the miners who get the coins will connect with this coin experiment, and see steady TX fees from lotteries as reason enough to support the network (along with the idea of helping an experimental project).

Lotto can be easily automated, once you pay the fee, the address you sent it from becomes automatically entered. So from that point it will manage itself. Because it can run continually I'll have it run on a 24/7 server.

It should be pretty fair. If people want to purchase multiple tickets that's fine. All proceeds will go straight back into the prizes.

^^ Agreed. As someone who is too poor to buy and can't mine, more promo would be nice  Smiley

I think a daily lottery is a great idea though! It means we have hopefully 10-15 people sending a transaction through the wire just to fund the lotto. If 15 throw in 1 PMC each, then a 15 PMC win would still be nice.

Although, can we post a lotto on the main /alternate cryptocurrencies forum? If so, we might be able to get people to sign up for a lotto where we double the pot with our extra PMC. So if 15 people put in 1 PMC each, we add an additional 15 PMC and have a 30 coin pot. Might encourage others to get a wallet and get a coin or two?

Not saying the block rewards is bad, but it seems a lot of focus is going into mining, when the coin's sole purpose was Premine and distribution by people holding the coin.

This is true, but we do need to increase the overall hashrate in order to help protect the network.

But... You are right, non-miners should have a shot at some free PMC too. Perhaps we can come up with another promo as well.

Oh jesus....maxcoin at 0.02 BTC and PMC at 0.00009 ?

Crypto world is insane !!!

BTW I like the idea of a lottery but I disagree with the statement 1PMC=1 lottery ticket. Remember that PMC have need to be known from new users and not from who is already here.

I propose to give a lottery ticket for everyone that use the faucet. Transaction ID = 1 lottery ticket per person.

What do u think ?

I would need the list of addresses in some sort of flat file like a txt file or a csv file, but yes, very straight forward to do if I have the list of payout addresses.

PMC price has actually been steadily increasing on Poloniex. Yes, the price is still ridiculous, but again PMC is still in that early pioneering stage. Think of the early days of Litecoin, or Bitcoin. Heck, even Dogecoin. Only those who understand PMC right now understand its massive potential to grow. It takes coins like this time to mature, and when it does, prices we see now will seem insane for very different reasons.

I wish I bought PMC when it was cheap.

We are doing very well, and I will continue to use my coding knowledge to do what I can.

I will happily design a Lottery for PMC based around the faucet addresses. Just start throwing ideas around about how the lottery should work and I can get started this weekend.

Basically I think an hourly draw of small prizes, and daily draws of a bigger prize.

Is the distribution over?  Or can I still submit an address?
Still distributing coins, though not as much as earlier. Don't forget the faucet.
