Hello Polis Community We are glad to announce that the fork was carried out successfully at height 774911.
What's new?This update introduces a lot of fixes for sync issues (goodbye bootstraps!).
We added a new difficulty calculation algorithm.
Plus some new checkpoints and and other measures to ensure you end up on the right chain.
To update please head to https://github.com/polispay/polis/releases/tag/v1.7.0
If you have any sort of issue syncing to the current block, a resync from scratch will be able to get you to sync. All other sorts of syncing issues have been solved by the update.
How to sync from scratch
With your wallet stopped, delete the block, chainstate, llmq, and evodb folders and open your wallet again. You should start downloading every block.
Trouble finding peers
If you have trouble finding peers, make sure you are not staking until you are synced, or at least past block 774911, and add the following nodes to your polis.conf file. The list will be updated as more nodes are active.

In the current version you will only be able to run validators on the command line without a GUI wallet.
We are close to finishing the GUI wallet with validator functionality, we estimate this to be ready next week.
In the coming days we will be releasing small updates/features and increase the testnet version to V1.X
The main objectives of this testnet are the following :
* Show the community the nearly finished Olympus chain
* Make you familiar with the VPS commands
* Get more validators and traffic on the testnet

Hello. I've been following your project from the very beginning and
I consider it very promising and plan to invest in the future.
But there are a few issues that I am very concerned about as an investor.
1. is the Olympus Protocol written from scratch or copied with adding some corrections?
Olympus has been coded from scratch by our own dev team and took about 12-15 months of coding time.
The only thing copied from another project is the casper consensus taken from the ETH 2.0 project.
The olympus code base is now undergoing an audit to find any potential bugs, ensuring we have a secure and smooth working chain.
2. will the Olympus Protocol work on the new blockchain or will it be ERC-20 ?
Olympus is a new blockchain, it's not in any way an ERC-20 token.
3. When will debit cards be available that will work throughout the world?
We are constantly looking for potential partners and contacts to secure an worldwide card.
However these contracts can be very expensive and are sometimes limited to certain regions (for example epay).
We currently have no ETA on when we will be able to offer a card working worldwide.
4. what major exchanges do you plan to deal with in the nearest future?
Unfortunately we cannot disclose exchange names at this time as we continue to talk with them on listing conditions and terms.
The team is focusing on finding Tier II exchanges that will fit the project’s needs.
As soon as the Olympus code passes the code audit, we will be sharing all the details regarding new listings.
It is important to understand that for a new codebase, the exchange listing process usually takes longer.
For forked coins or ERC20 tokens, exchanges can very easily integrate a project. For new codebases, they need to integrate new
technology and processes and this takes time.
I think that many people on this forum would like to get answers to these questions in a detailed form. Thanks a lot!

Basically I just decided to add a comment since there were no discussions from current polis users for some time!
Polis is truly a great coin with lots of ways it can be used even in everyday life using polis pay application.
Where everyone can buy girt cards using polis, converting coins from one to another using built in shift feature. It uses non custodial wallet too.
There is also a lot of development going on to develop polis coin progression further up trend.
Feel free to join this friendly, dedicated team of professionals, everyday users, and masternode holders.
Polis coin has very well organized, secure, discord channel.
The project has now a DAO team, which helps the project to develop and progress further.
From my personal view, polis coin will help me to finally achieve my goals and make everybody who's important to me happy.

It's been a while since we lasted updated you on the status and development of Olympus.
1.
We are happy to announce that the team has finished the initial development of the Olympus codebase. This means that the chain is ready to enter the Public Testnet. The semi public testnet has been running stable for about 1.5 month without any consensus errors or significant bugs. We are looking to launch the public testnet in the next 7-14 days. An external company will do an extensive audit on the olympus codebase locating any potential bugs and risks we might not yet have overlooked.
The time this will take is estimated at 2.5 weeks. After we receive the final report we might need some time to take action to solve potential issues. The time this takes depends on the result of the final audit.

Regarding the GUI wallet : Unfortunately, the team has experienced some slowdowns with the Olympus GUI wallet, you can see its current status in the screenshot below. The wallet will be released in a couple of weeks after the Public Testnet is available.
To encourage users to start using the new chain, the team has also created an Olympus light wallet that will be released as a chrome extension wallet see screenshot below.
This wallet can easily be ported to mobile and desktop devices as well so you can expect these versions to be made publicly available shortly after.

We have finished making the official Olympus explorer
In the screenshot below you can see the first version of the official Olympus Block Explorer, it will help Olympus testers to track blocks, transactions, and accounts as well as providing some insightful chain information such as validator and chain statistics. This will be continuously updated through the life of the Public Testnet so that more features are added.

On another side note : we are really close to finishing the wPolis Defi ERC20 token. We are now doing internal testing on swaps. There will be 3 releases:
- First release will include a one-way bridge to ETH, this will be released as soon as tests are finished (ETA 1 week).
- First update will include the bridge to change wPolis into polis. (ETA 2 weeks).
- Third release will include a farming pool, which you will be able to farm your liquidity on the ethereum network for more POLIS. (ETA 3-4 weeks).

We are having a AMA with our DAO managers next wednesday 25/11 at 12 PM PST. Where you can ask specific questions about the project.

The new deadline for submitting works for participation in the competition is 15.11.2020. Until then, all works can still be submitted for voting. Voting will start on 16/11/2020 and end on 23/11/2020. The winner will be officially announced at the next DAO AMA meeting, on 25.11.2020. Remember the date!

The team worked hard on two main tasks: - checking how the migration mechanism works on the Olympus blockchain, as well as creating a graphical User interface (GUI) for the new wallet and the blockchain Explorer…
Along with this, we perform some optimization of the Olympus code and fix minor bugs detected during testing. We plan to complete the first stage of development of the Olympus wallet User interface (Ul) tools next week, announcing the official release of the wallet, which will allow more people to join the open beta testing process.

The technical Department of the DAO monitored audit companies and received offers from some of them to audit the new code base of the Olympus blockchain. Moreover, we have already signed a cooperation Agreement with one of the companies, and as soon as the Olympus public test network is launched, its audit will begin. We are really happy to have found a reliable partner who will fully test Olympus for vulnerabilities and security holes. More information will be published soon.
