You can stake with 10 coins, which is the minimum required to mint a 10 Zerocoin denomination in Veil.

If you have 1,500 project tokens, you should make 1x 1,000 denomination, and 5x 100 denomination.

Just wanted to have a calculator it is not clear what is better profitable by staking chance.
From this table - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10iN-d6NRX4u5WzNi4lO0S3Ef7euwyuvRv0TANjLPp1E/edit#gid=558845196 In % if have 1500 veils it is better to divide them by 15*100 than 1*1000 + 5*100  Roll Eyes

Thanks, that's exactly what i was looking for. I needed something like this for planning ahead on how much i am going to buy. This seems to be a community with great attitude.

There's no need to be upset

I suggest minting the highest denoms you can so you reduce how often you need to remint to reduce orphan rate (not successful stakes). I am using mainly 1K's right now, and remint every two weeks or so. After Precompute is implemented, there will be no need to remint.

care to explain this a bit? do we have to remint our stakes after a while?

How does one easily remint?

Are you talking about sending ZeroCoin to myself? And, I thought it didn't matter the transaction size because coin-age doesn't matter. I was under the impression that all coins stake the same regardless of transaction size

yes you convert all back to basecoin and then remint.

Thanks a lot for the info VeilDango, it was super explanatory. Cheers !

just keep in mind that when sending coins to yourself it may take a while with the wallet "not answering", don't close it, just wait.
some people report it takes more than 20 hours sometimes...

Is there any paper wallet for veil? I'm interested to join bounty since it requires quite a lot to have a minimum staling balance.

There was work being done on a Paper Wallet, but I am not sure it is working properly, and would rather not have bounty hunters be its testers. You don't need to stake, you can just download the Veil wallet app, run it, and generate a Basecoin address for use in the bounty program.

To generate a Basecoin address, go to Settings icon > Advanced Options > Console tab and enter: getnewbasecoinaddress

What is the minimum number of coins needed for stacking with such PoS Difficulty? And for example, have 1500 project tokens, how can I better distribute them for PoS?
1000-denom and 100-denom*5? Or 100-denom*15? Please devs clarify this point if not difficult.

You can remint by first going to Settings icon > Advanced Options > Console tab and sending yourself funds from your Basecoin, CT, and RingCT balances to consolidate all your coins.
Then go Settings icon > Zerocoin Minting and type in the amount you want to mint and hit MINT (and also check Use Basecoin if minting from Basecoin balance).

care to explain this a bit? do we have to remint our stakes after a while?

Lower denoms (10, 100) have less chance per denom to win a stake, so they can get really old and then take a very long time to spend. This can cause higher orphaned stake rate.

If you go for higher denoms (1,000, 10,000), they have higher chance per denom to win a stake, so they will be reminted more regularly, reducing/removing the need for reminting.

1k may benefit from a remint every 1-2 weeeks. 10k probably does not need to be reminted at all, maybe just remint the oldest one(s) every few weeks at most.

Just joined the bounty, just wanted to say hi to everyone.  Trying out the wallet as we speak, so far looking good and functional.  I like the graphics, well done

Yes, as of now they are doing according to what they mentioned but things will not be the same always because they didn't list in higher volumes exchanges. Of course, it will take some time to get a reputation for that they need actively give updates about their progress and developments.

What's the PoS reward plan of Veil. I didn't notice any information related PoS reward. Can someone help me find this out? Would really appreciate.

The reward for winning a stake is 50 Veil. Currently about 50% of blocks are won by miners andd 50% by stakers.

Is it correct information?
I have > 10k. Some coins with 10 denom, some 100 and some 1000.
Better make all Zerocoins to 10000 denom or it doesn't matter?

This is fork zcash?

Veil is based on Bitcoin Core v0.17 and has custom-implemented privacy features.

So, I'm sure plenty of users are staking here...
What is a minimum amount to get a block staked? Or timelines for staking.

Basically - if your staking blocks consistently, how many veil and how long per block?

Right now, you need around 12k Veil to earn one stake a day on average. The amount required for one stake a day on average will keep getting higher as the coin supply increases and more coins are staked.
