The newer source causes a hard fork at block 243759, which quietly ignores (invalidates) 36976 blocks of the above 280735 block chain. These 36976 blocks were mined months or even years before the newer source was released. The negative adjustment represents about 13% of the total blockchain so it's not exactly a small amount.

What's going on?

It leaps nearly 26 months between height 243758 and 243759, the latter is presumably when the OP uploaded the new source.

My 30k PRC balance - much of which was mined in that massive gap - has almost all disappeared.

You can see from previous messages above that the chain was still moving AFTER June 2015, that's all gone?...

I see from the source that there's actually a deliberate fork past height 243758, which was minted more than two years ago. Why has all the work of miners since that point been deliberately discarded? Seems very dodgy to rewind the chain like this.

Just a note that the leveldb dir in the source does not have a makefile, so a make of prospercoind fails.
