Dear PiratesCoin community,

I'm happy to announce that PTE has been added to Altcoin.Center's addnode seed network!

If you have trouble getting your PiratesCoin wallet synchronized, just add the following three lines to your piratescoin.conf file and restart your wallet:

addnode=seeds.altcoin.center
addnode=seeds.altcoincenter.eu
addnode=seeds.altcoincenter.us

Thank you ipsec for providing the original block chain source!

Yours sincerely,

Jyri

Using the Mac wallet...it says Out of Sync and no block source available...please advise...keith

Unfortunately there is only one seed node hard-coded into the wallet source code, and that node (131.72.137.93) is not online anymore.

Could anyone with a synchronized wallet please go to the RPC console, type the command getpeerinfo and paste the output here? As soon as I have a source to synchronize from, I'll add PiratesCoin to the Altcoin.Center addnode seed network for permanent access.

Thanks!

Yours,

Jyri

ipsec, thank you so much! =)

Now synchronizing - will make an announcement when the seed servers are ready to be used.

this coin still alive? is it being traded anywhere?

this coin is dead , why would anyone buy this crap , look at the cheap photoshop on the OP , it was clearly made by some amature

From technical point of view the coin is alive as long as the block chain is alive.

There is obviously no reason for anyone to buy the coin in it's current state, but that state can be changed.

I would personally not evaluate any coin based on it's graphics, one way or another.

If anyone has a synchronized wallet and can provide me the output of the getpeerinfo command, we can try and revive PiratesCoin and give it a new, more credible life.

Doesn't seem like there would be any exchanges for it at this time.

I'm new to Pirate - just found it a moment ago when scouting for interesting coins that are in need of some addnode assistance.

For whatever reason I just like this one (maybe I like pirates;) and would be happy to see it revived. I can assist on my part by providing a stable block chain source.

Altcoin.Center has also been doing takeovers of coins dumped by their original developers, but to be honest our hands are full at the moment so there would need to be some community support if a takeover was to take place.

=D

Please see my previous post.

I'll be able to provide a stable block chain source for PiratesCoin if I can only do the initial synchronization with someone(s).

All that's needed is that someone with an up-to-date wallet opens the RPC console, types in the command getpeerinfo and either posts the output here or sends it to me in a PM. =)

What exchanges and how soon do you think it will be? Also what is the estimated value of one coin at launch of exchanges? Then how do we double the value instead of the pump and dump method that everyone likes to do?

Hi guys, I'll send the funds manually to those that haven't received them.

I'll also stop the stratum on this coin inmediately and will only launch it again until there's a fix for this issue, the coin needs too much babysitting right now as it crashes constantly.

EDIT: Something is very, very wrong with the daemon:

piratescoind sendtoaddress PH3pJQzKvHUa7zmjCPNFWWCThj99JR2pS4 13897
error: no response from server

After i restart it and try to send funds again... same issue, over and over again.

Have deleted all blocks? If not, then delete.
Downloaded again blocks? If not, you can download them.

That should solve the problem.

It's not a block syncing issue but a sendtoaddress issue, sendmany is broken also it just crashes constantly.

Do what I wrote. I also had this problem, and after this has improved.

"piratescoind sendtoaddress PH3pJQzKvHUa7zmjCPNFWWCThj99JR2pS4 13897
error: no response from server"

After downloading the blocks again, this error disappears.

Proof:
piratescoind sendtoaddress PSQa1n38ZUv3DLhdxQA88teCwn4PD27vCJ 298500
05b7ed6f20e0623858ff35c6d2a6ed9138357a8da2bfff7e6fbfa241b344c5a2

OK...payout is normal now

Minerpools still dead ?

Actually, it's the coin mate, it sucks and dev doesn't know how to fix it.

I suggest people stop mining this crap until he posts a fix, else just let it die.

EDIT:

DEv: even after resyncing TWICE, same error appears:

piratescoind sendtoaddress PBkmFVpKFwLd4toRWyNFJSxduVLK8D7H1s 2557
error: no response from server

send is broken as well as sendmany, daemon crashes all of a sudden when sending funds at random moments, it doesn't really matter the size of the transaction.
there's nothing on debug.log, but there's always a segfault with the daemon.
