but made zero difference, you need a fast internet connection ...ie low latency  and high hash if your ping is not super low you won't get anything until diff rises. That is why early block with low diff should have very low coins not just the first 100 blocks

it's normal for coins like this, only low latency miners will get any of the easy coins.

Best just forget it really.  Most get orphans only a very few will pick up any, later you will pick up a few but is it worth it after it has been raped so hard?

You need a scrypt-jane miner (ybcminer).
I think the miner in the OP is safe but I always use my own ybcminer with the settings I found in the main.cpp (source).

in anycase with gcminer i'm only getting:

-Found block for pool 0!
-Pool 0 communication failure, caching submissions
and
-Pool 0 share became stale while retrying submit, discarding

A release by someone who just got out of newb status @ 10 posts.  What to expect?

Diff adjusts every block, but only slightly, which is bad. Over 100 orphans, 300 rejected lol.

I recommend you set the scantime of the miner to 0.01, that has helped a lot with finding orphans for me.
