It is kind of sad watching DRK have such a nice rise considering:
1) QRK was way more fairly distributed and
2) Quark algo still remains ASIC resistant due to its random rounds whereas X11 with its simple linear design already has FPGAs working meaning dedicated ASICs are available anytime someone thinks it is financially worthwhile (ie likely now).

Quark (and Quark based clones..) remain the best coins for distributed decentralized individual mining (as opposed to centralized corporate ASIC mining farms that have already or are in process of taking over SHA, Scrypt, X11).

Quark really made multiple hashing revolutionary, so many clones including darkcoin. quarks time will come, it just needs a trigger, it could be Bitcoin rising in price, ShaqFu coming out, Shaquille O'neill talking about quark, www.qex.la delivers, quarks dev making a sweet update, other projects that come out etc.

You guys are delusional..

Having ASIC's after a time is healthy, as it lowers the chance of the coin being forked and ruined by someone with enough hashpower. While Quark is very ASIC resistant, someone with a few million could easily destroy this coin and lower it's value to Nothing by doing a 51% attack...

Having many people distrubeted with ASIC's incredibly lowers the risk of a 51% attack, look at Bitcoin for example. You'd need hundreds of millions to attempt to get 51% of the haspower.

Sorry Quack fanboys, but this coin has no purpose and is useless, it can be forked/destroyed extremely easy by someone with a few million and evil heart, and its price shows that...

^ darkcoin bagholder shill barking on other coins, it's a common tactic to protect their own asset. You guys give dark a bad name thats for sure

Obvious DARKcoin fanboi is obvious...

Also stupid.  First big X11 asic maker out the door could 51 DRK even easier if they had an evil heart as it would be the new weapon on the battlefield.  It is the balance of hashing power that keeps things safe not the hashing equipment itself.  QRK is good being ASIC resistant because CPU and GPU are in the realm of eveyone so it is simple to have well distributed hashing (though we do need more pools so that distributed hashing isn't all focused together in one place...).

Your opinion. To same can be said about many coins showing growth.

The nvidia crowd will switch to quark since they have no advantage on scrypt but they do on quark...x11 is asic prey.

I think that after the full release ASIC's, a large number of owners of video cards will switch it on quark (or Vert)!

How you think?

Right now I have one machine on a multipool paying out in Quark, and another is merge mining Vertcoin together with MON/PLX. I would say switching to Vert makes most sense, but I would expect more to mine Quark directly when the price goes up.

I sold what Darkcoin I had today, I sold too early, but I'll sleep better not holding something that is being manipulated like DRK is right now. It's ripe for manipulation because greedy zealots have hopped over from Blackcoin, and it's just trading on the concept without any merchant adoption or clear vision for actual use. One successful hack on a masternode and it will be hard to recover. Anyway, I made a profit and bought some more Quark! You know, a crypto with a real future

Do anybody know when/if the quark mulitpool will open???

I'm sorry to say that we have had a bit of a setback on that front. If anyone knows a reliable developer or is a reliable developer and wants to contribute, please contact myself or another foundation member. We are actively looking into several other options.

Also - in the meantime, I encourage everyone that wants a multipool with Quark payouts to use www.hashco.ws!

Vic

okay im sorry to hear that. I really admire the work you guys are doing for quark infrastructure Cheesy  But I think that what we need right now is more exposure and advertising for the coin to get new investors more people involve
