is there a way to mine this that isn't a colossal pain compared to everything else?  pool links to miners are dead (from OP or elsewhere if there's even instructions), running anything with a command in windows this day and age is ridiculous (from OP), and without having to sign up an account in 3 different places before you can even start (also from OP)?   Just trying to get on a pool ffs.

Is is our focus , on the code side for a while , this and secuirty , .  We are working , need more contributers .

I own QuarkTalk.com.

Can we consolidate the forums there utilizing a modern forum software?

I recommend we use http://vanillaforums.com/.

Quark deserves modern and stable software.

Maybe good update links if that not working...

Best thing I've done for QRK, was :

Being the first who said that QRK is gonna be on BTC38. ( Which wasn't the truth )

See what happened? Smiley

I just did something bad. I sold my QRKs 3 days ago. 165k. Just got my money out.

Now QRK is going high and I'm left without any Cheesy

Not exactly, since QRK is already on another Chinese website bter.com. People there are buying like crazy...

$ parity would have Quark ranked number 3 crypto currency with about half the market cap of litecoin.
I think that is a stretch in the short term, but then on Friday it was 24 QRK per cent, and now it is about 1,5cents per QRK, at that level of increase we'll have $ parity next week! (I know it won't happen.)

I'm not selling this for 3 years.

The following will happen in the mean time --

1) Bitcoins will be more popular and can be used common man.
2) Experts will realized and announce the drawbacks of bitcoin
3) People will start migrating to alternative cryptocurrency like quarks driving prices up. The better the technicals, the more expensive they'll become.

BUT there's a windows-only GPU miner (i.e. closed source) already made. Is that a good thing?

How much do you have stockpiled? What do you think the price will increase to?

I've like 100,000

In 3 years, 1/3rd the price of Bitcoins in the same period. It actually depends. This assumption assumes that the coin is one of the top cryptocurrencies; if it becomes the top cryptocurrency, then of course it's prices will exceed that. There's a lot of compitition, like PrimeCoin.

Bitcoin has to die someday.

Hello.

I've been running a Quarkcoin p2pool since about September for my own solo-pool mining purposes.  The more the merrier?  It's there, please feel free to use it.  Fee is set at 2%.

For those just getting started...

Here is the link to the pre-compiled quark cpuminers for Windows.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxKqW4aMUczmaTVfWjZEdnpqLVk/edit?usp=sharing

Be careful, there was malware floating around not long ago as a quark cpuminer, scan whatever you download.

For unix I found the "uncle bob" cpuminer performs quite well:

https://github.com/uncle-bob/quarkcoin-cpuminer

Installing the latest GMP library could also make a difference in performance.

Command to start mining with this pool:

minerd.exe -a quark -o http://blackpools.pw:3336 --userpass=YourWalletAddress:AnyPassword

Make sure "YourWalletAddress" is part of the command otherwise you're donating everything to the pool.

if you posted this on our Forum - that would help people they want to know how to mine and the info is limited at the moment -

this forum is not a abstraction you will be talking to very new people to Crypto -
