Ravencoin Lite is a fork of the original Ravencoin Classic code that has been used to create a new POW cryptocurrency!
In case you don't know, Ravencoin Classic is a fork of Ravencoin, except it keeps the original X16R algorithm. This fork was carried out by ASIC manufacturers after Ravencoin announced it would switch to the KAWPOW algorithm. RVC has since been abandoned, and RVL hopes to improve on RVC, almost like "what RVC could be if the developers still maintained it".

Will there be CPU mining, or only GPU mining?
RavencoinLite will be sticking to the X16R algorithm, which is sub-optimal for CPU mining, however, there is a possibility of adding a secondary CPU-Focused algorithm down the line akin to what has been accomplished by XMY.

A code fork of Ravencoin Classic, RavencoinLite is an open-source project focused on improving upon the foundations laid out by Ravencoin and Ravencoin Classic by bringing the means of development back into the community's hands.
