Is this coin implying that there is something coming that takes place when we are dying? Tongue

I do not know, what do you think? Smiley

Is this coin related to the Online virtual world of SecondLife?

Based on their website Second Life, (SL) is part of their trademark and no one can use them without permission

You can refer on this article for more details: https://secondlife.com/corporate/brand/trademark/index.php

No Sir, we are not related to any other website.  Our official website is one:

https://www.secondlifecoin.org

Then you are using their trademark without permission, Anytime your website could be shutdown and their lawyers can hunt you down for copyright infringement.

You can further refer to this page: https://secondlife.com/corporate/brand/trademark/unauthorized.php

Smiley Every country's brand patent firms and laws are different.  There are 42 regulations for every sector in Turkey if I am not wrong and every company has to fulfill the regulations in its region in order to be able to say that brand is mine. Our brand's name is 'secondlifecoin' and brand name taken in a different country stays in that country.

You are incorrect. Turkey is part of the Berne Convention therefore is protected copyright.

https://www.wipo.int/treaties/en/notifications/berne/treaty_berne_230.html

This is correct. Imagine if every country had its own patent laws, how would that work on a global level? It wouldn't.

I think you mis-understand the law Secondlifecoin....

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Intellectual_Property

Nearly 180 countries have ratified a treaty – the Berne Convention, administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) – that sets a minimum set of standards for the protection of the rights of the creators of copyrighted works around the world.

https://www.wipo.int/treaties/en/ip/berne/summary_berne.html

Turkey is one of the 180 countries. https://www.wipo.int/treaties/en/notifications/berne/treaty_berne_230.html

How will I know if my business name, when used with "SL" or "inSL," is confusingly similar to a Linden Lab trademark, domain name, product, or service?

Even if you use your own word mark or name with two or more generic nouns, you must also make sure that the resulting name with "SL" or "inSL" is not confusingly similar to a Linden Lab trademark, domain name, product, or service. Our trademarks are listed here (https://secondlife.com/corporate/brand/trademark/tm_chart.php), and our products and services include our virtual world platform, tools, and scripting language, our virtual currency services, virtual land services, in-world content, and informational resources in-world, on our website, or anywhere else. The Guidelines illustrate this rule with specific examples of names that are confusingly similar and are not OK.

If you're using generic nouns, you're more likely to avoid a confusingly similar name if you choose a noun combination that's distinctive, rather than just descriptive of your business, product, or service. For example, do not use descriptive names like "SL Avatar Clothing" or "Avatar Skin inSL," which could be confused with the default avatar clothing and skin provided by Linden Lab upon registration. Instead, use something more distinctive like "SL Avatar Indispensables," "Avatar Radiance inSL," or "SL Style Points." You get the idea. The more fanciful or arbitrary, the better.

Why can't I register my business name combined with "SL" or "inSL" as a trademark or a business name?

The Guidelines prohibit registration (as a trademark, service mark or business or organization name) of any name combined with "SL" or "inSL." You cannot register the name in full because it includes our trademarks "SL" or "inSL," which represent our business and product, the Second Life virtual world.

However, you may seek registration of the portion that is your name and does not include "SL" or "inSL." Before choosing any generic noun combination for your name, you may wish to consult an attorney for legal advice on registering it as a trademark or business name. Linden Lab cannot provide you with that advice.

Why are there restrictions on the kinds of businesses and activities with which I can associate a business name with "SL" or "inSL"? How will I know if my business or activity falls within a prohibited category?

The Guidelines for Using SL™ or inSL™ limit how "SL" and "inSL" may be used in order to preserve the value of those trademarks for Linden Lab and the Second Life community. Like the inSL logo, "SL" or "inSL" may not be used with names for businesses, organizations, products, services, websites, or activities that are not suitable for a General rating or are inconsistent with our Terms of Service or Community Standards. Again, the General standard is one that's familiar to the Second Life community. However, if you're uncertain whether your business or activity falls within a prohibited category in the Guidelines, you should use your own brand names without "SL" or "inSL" or any Linden Lab trademarks.

The above found on:

https://secondlife.com/corporate/brand/faq.php#faq22

I state this because your logo is "SL".

Also special consideration of the wording is to be noted:  "...we've given you special permission to show the association of your business or organization with the Second Life virtual world by using "SL" or "inSL" with your business or organization name, product or service name..."

You can use trademark "SL" to SHOW ASSOCIATION with SECOND LIFE VIRTUAL WORLD.

Your business can use "SL" (i.e. Second Life Coin) IF related/associated with the SL™ Virtual World. Unfortunately your Second Life Coin has no association with SL™ Virtual World.

And just to reiterate:

"...you may seek registration of the portion that is your name and does not include "SL" or "inSL." Before choosing any generic noun combination for your name, you may wish to consult an attorney for legal advice on registering it as a trademark or business name. Linden Lab cannot provide you with that advice".

However, your company is also called "Second Life Coin" and this is deemed not authorised to use:

Examples on what is not OK to use according to SL™ Virtual World. As you can see, you cannot use this name.

It might be photoshop but that means is not they are a scammer and the last comment shows us they are a real person.

Why would anyone use photoshop in the first place if that person has nothing to hide, especially considering the use case they pretend to have here.

An 8 seconds video is not enough Cheesy its not even an explanation and not enough for an introduction.

You should research first about your project, its an ICO and you should do more study before jumping in to the ICO craze. Now you have been tagged negatively and there's no coming back from that.

What documents, what videos, what donation? And most of all, why would I decide to make a donation? Who will donate to me? From my brief research, more and more projects jump on this stupid stereotyped bandwagon. Everyone aims to work out a solution to global poverty or how to combat it in a decentralized way. Well what will happen when US dollar, the most long lasting scam pulled by a single govt during the past centuries, suddenly devalues and collapses so as to increase foreign dept 10 fold, to 219 trillion? What about the consequences of this for the world economy? U have no fucking idea what poverty is but u are soon to discover what its like.

Since we are new to Bitcointalk, we are not quite sure how to create an image with the link or a video so we added all the details that our potential investors/donators asked for earlier.  Hope these information help to all that we are NOT a scam project.

P.S. I am kindly asking my friends to remove their negative messages and topic about us.  Hope all is well now.

It could imply the impossibility that this will ever make us a penny! That's because nobody expects any return in their second life! And that is because nobody believes in a second life in the first place! Wink

OK then, wish you luck on your topic.  I told you we were ready to prove that our project was not scam.  I do not know what you are trying to do by opening a new topic.  I guess you have an expectation by opening a new topic about us other than discussing this situation here.

Its not too late to turns thing around in your favor, Grab your cellphone camera and create a video explaining things about your photoshop team.

Its actually the easiest solution to your problem instead of creating a new photo with your team.

About owning the copyright trade mark of second life in turkey you should have it before you even launch, its a known internet brand and a simple research could have prevented it.

...As a matter of fact, we did not think that this would end up using the SCAM word for our project and it really made us sad.
...

Hello Mr. Caloglu,

We didnt accuse your project of a scam yet. We only stated facts about your team being photoshopped.

We opened this thread here and we can discuss more over there.

Hello Team,

We have a few questions:

1 - Is Beck Musoev (Marketing Executive) a real person/name? With so many new computer-generated images and so many people stealing other people's identities, it is hard to differentiate nowadays, especially when the image is obviously fake, like in his case. There are many people using this same suit. (bad photoshop job by the way)

Can you provide a video of him wearing the same suit and tie?

2 - Çetin SÖNMEZ (Vice President & Founding Partner) - What happened to the other project that he is the "CEO & Director General" - Gapicoin?

We just found a few more images of  Çetin SÖNMEZ. It appears that he or someone, like to play with photoshop. Try again!!!

Hello ICOEthics,

First of all, my name's Candas CALOGLU and I'm the President & Founding Partner of Second Life coin.  I would like to say that, on these pics, we wanted to seem without casual clothes by reason of respect of our donators/investors and corporate infrastructure and that is why we selected this way.  As a matter of fact, we did not think that this would end up using the SCAM word for our project and it really made us sad.  We are always ready to prove every team member of Second Life Coin is real person/name.  Their names and faces are real.  We understand your concerns about yourself and other people and we apologise for making you think that way.  We will add original pics of Cetin SONMEZ and Beck MUSOEV.

Secondly, Cetin SONMEZ and I had first met on GapiCoin.  I was the Business development Manager of the coin.  By time, two of us decided to publish our own project and got permission from the owner and started our own journey.  Neither he is, nor I am somehow working in that project anymore.  We are totally focused on our Second Life Coin project.

So they are not just using a copyright trademark of other company but also possibly having a fake team on their team page.

I guess once everything is clear and the truth comeout, There will no more SecondChance for them.

I am keeping tab on them and waiting for their answer regarding owning the copyright of secondlife trademark in Turkey.

As I mentioned, none of our team is fake.  We are ready to prove it at anytime.  I remember that we had a conversation about the copyright issue.  Right after that, I requested the copyright paper that we have from The Republic of Turkey culture and Tourism Ministry and I will get the paper within this week.  I will share it with you.

I mean, pretty obvious from teh start tbh. Besides this is a really bad time to launch a charity coin. Theres so many out there already and many charities already accept crypto so most people will go with the reputable ones anyway.

Well, our project and the other ones are probably different in some points.  We are more focusing on helping needy people asap.  That is why we even did not put bigger amounts of soft and hard caps.  Let people choose their charity coin.  One come us, another one go for another charity coin.  At the end, every charity will be helping people in need.

Oh, no, these photos are terrible, couldn’t the team could take a picture of them normally? This is not a very serious approach, and it is very similar to scam.

Yes.  As I mentioned above my team members should have taken normal pics but please consider this; every attempt has a rookie period.  If one makes a mistake, he/she will be much more experienced.  That is our situation at the moment.

Once again, we are sad and sorry for making you think we are scam.  We are not for sure.  We can grow up with your support so that is what me and my team are asking for.  Your constructive criticism and knowing that you are on our side will make us reach our dreams for needy people at a shorter period of time.

On behalf of my team with all love and respect,

Candas CALOGLU

Not quite. The rights for trademark can be for 1 country, a region, or entire world. In last case, there is no difference where you've registered same trademark, because you are not its owner.

We are not related with any kind of computer game named Second Life.  Our aim is to help humanity; reach as many needy people as possible all around the world and be their voice.  Name of the coin is maybe the second or next issue for us.  Bitcoin, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Diamond and so...  They have similar names but they are different coins and they even have different goals.  As long as we can help as many people as possible and make them smile even a bit with our project, we will find ourselves successful enough since all we have been doing is for them.  So PLEASE, let's talk about our project content other than name similarity of a game and our project since our project is not a game.  We are happy to help you about our project detail questions or suggestions.  Thank you !
