(Selldefi was a service to sell digital files for bitcoin anonymously. It was closed after a small run due to lack of users.)

It is still under development so things can change from what can described here. But once we will launch our upgraded system we will make things clear in our terms and services.

Yes we will require permissions of seller to open their uploaded products. If sellers don't want to let us see their products they can simply turn off dispute and reviews system on their products and use platform anonymous as they are using now. Buyers will be notified before buying products that do not have option to dispute or no review options.

This can prove difficult to implement. As you stated previously, you don't know the content of the uploaded data, so you can't check what the buyer received. You also can't know if the buyer is lying and got the correct product, but is lying about it to get a refund. Unless you can form your opinion based on a hash of the updated file or something. How would this new system of yours work?

You still won't be able to see the content of password-protected or encrypted archives. What prevents you, theoretically, to report anything you want yourself (if that's a necessity) and get anything that is being sold for free?

Thank you for showing interest. Here are answers.
1. Yes there is no one to search and we do not intend to put search bar in future. Uploaders share their links with their audience by themselves. Keeping privacy in mind.
2. We have an upgrade ready and we did upgraded to it but due to some errors we rolled back. Update has profile system, reviews system, different products management, product edit functions, referral commission systems for each product and percentage of commissions is set by file uploader and a lot more.
3. Uploader cannot delete file if there is a purchase on going. System waits for all current transactions to be completed before deleting a product. In new upgraded system there are options for buyer to open a dispute if they get wrong product and even can get their money back. We basically work as sort of escrow in upgraded system.
4. People can upload bad stuff but buyers can report it through this thread. We cannot read files but can delete if someone reported it. We will change our policy in next upgrade and we will be able to see content of files if a buyer opens a dispute about revived product. Current system is anonymous and we are bound to wait for buyer reports. Even if you didn't buy it and saw someone selling you can still report link in this thread.
5. Minimum is currently 1 kb and max is around 100-200 mb depending on file type. We can change this according to requirements and system resources.

Next upgrade is good and bad in both ways. It is good because buyers get more protection and they can get their money back if they didn't get correct product. And even leave bad reviews if they get bad products.
You can say it kinda bad because if a buyers says product is bad we will have to check it before deciding who is telling truth. There is complete chat mechanism for buyers and sellers to talk and other stuff. But a seller can turn off reviews and dispute on their products and can still remain completely anonymous as they are now. Buyers will be informed that they cannot dispute for such products before they buy it.

We are currently working to make upgraded system more private and secure. Due to some bugs we rolled back this upgrade and we will hopefully launch it back soon.

I have a couple of questions, recommendations, and observations.

1. Your service has no search option, meaning I would have to post links to my files elsewhere If I want to find clients. Maybe adding an option to search by file name wouldn't be bad.
2. I think sellers should be allowed to create unique profiles. How do I build reputation on your platform when it doesn't show the name of the uploader?
3. The buyer gets the link to the purchased item after 3 blockchain confirmations, right? Can the seller delete the item in the meantime or when he notices an incoming transaction, thereby scamming the buyer?
4. Besides scanning the files for viruses and malware, you have no way to check the contents of what is being uploaded. What prevents someone to use your service to share illegal content (child pornography, pirated movies, stolen identity and financial information, etc.)?
5. What's the minimum and maximum file size a user can upload?

We are not planning to public all uploaded files like in an NFT marketplace. Each uploaded file is personal and seller must share their files links with their targeted audience.

We are pleased to announce that we have upgraded our payment system and improved Bitcoin address type from Legacy address - P2PKH (Starting with 1...) to SegWit address - P2WPKH (Starting with bc1q....).

Benefits of SegWit addresses include more resistance to input errors (as they are case insensitive and use error-correcting codes), and lower transaction fees. The fee saving will depend on the type of transaction but for a common transfer of funds it can be 30-40%. SegWit addresses start with bc1q and are case insensitive. These are latest and currently under adoption by market you can track adoption here

You cannot know what's inside due to privacy. There is no need to sell an image if you can just view its preview. People can simply download it. So we cannot add a preview of files. That's why we have added below every product that you must trust sellers. If you buy from link and its a fake one at least you can leave a bad review on bitcointalk and on user profile. Similarly if you get file link from a YouTuber then you can complain on their videos or in their community groups.

I am not even able to preview what is contained in the files. How do I know that the seller is selling me what I actually want, or he's just selling some bunch of files that may not be of use to me, ending with me getting scammed?

Your site has an interesting concept that I haven't seen before. The best thing is that you can use bitcoin to pay. I like that a lot and I think it's good that you also want to support the lightning network soon. Maybe you should consider supporting other coins like LTC or ETH. That might attract other customers who don't want to use BTC. Another suggestion I would make is to be provide an option to change the language of the website. There are still many people who have problems with english and feel more comfortable if the site can be set to their native language. 

If seller wants their files deleted after 1 download then they can set sell limit to 1. So after 1 download their product will be deleted automatically.

And if you mean after each payment products get deleted then yes every time someone purchases and downloads then their copy is not saved on our server. We delete it immediately.

But if you create the option for the file to be automatically deleted after downloading (if defined by the vendor), you can free up space faster.

Exactly this is the best use case.
We will put general statistics once we grow a little bit. Because current numbers are low as we are a starting business.
We will try to provide more evidence of files. One possible way is to show total numbers of files in our possession. People will notice automatic deletion and decrease in numbers.
30 days limit is already stated in Terms of Service page. We will reduce it as we will face shortage of system resources. This is maximum limit and our system automatically deletes file after 30 days if they have not received any traffic.

If someone wants their files to be deleted earlier they can delete themselves anytime. All you have to do is setup a password when uploading and you can delete it anytime.

User have full rights to delete their files anytime they want. And files are kept safely encrypted on our servers meanwhile.

I think the best use of this site is someone who is hired to do a job (design, presentation, text, etc.), can send the files to their client and get paid on the spot. I'll be on the lookout.


Some suggestions:
- Put general statistics on the site, showing live how many files were uploaded and how many were sold.
- Try to provide more evidence that everything is encrypted and that the files are not held by your company.
- Give the possibility to the seller to define a period for deleting the file from the server (up to 30 days), and be able to define that as soon as the file is downloaded, it will be deleted from the server. (Maybe this is already possible, but I didn't notice those options on the upload page.)

Usually sellers have profiles on some platforms. Like for example seller can be a Youtuber and they can sell their code to their viewers by adding a selldefi link in description of each video. Their viewers can buy whatever code they want and seller do not need to process each payment and deliver product to everyone.

It is important for business to write all rules and terms. And then try their best to implement them. These terms are useful in legal processes. Some countries or network providers can ban our website because they think we sell products to minors. But once we have written it in our Terms of Services everyone knows we only offer our services to adults only. Also if we ever know someone is abiding by our rules then we can delete their products. For example if an underage Twitch streamer (less than 18 yo) puts SellDefi link to some magazine or game coupons for selling to their viewers then we can delete their product because we can find that streamer is not 18 years old.

Since according to your terms and conditions, you say a user must be above 18 years old and also in the same terms and conditions you mention that your service is fully anonymous, and that don't collect any user information, How do you go about ensuring that the users accessing your platform are indeed above 18 without collecting any user data?

It's good and simple, however who is going to trust me as a seller if they don't know who I am, buyers can't tell if they are buying from me or someone else, therefore I can't build a reputation meaning I can never be trusted. Maybe I sell my item in a day and decide to sell another item in the next week, maybe a certain buyer is waiting for more products from me, how can they recognize me? Do I need to provide a link here every time for someone to know that they are dealing with me?

Lol the above link is just for test,  I wish you could use something like lightning network to enable micro-transactions, that way we could sell an item 100times with a price of $2 per purchase amounting a total $200.

We/Dev Team cannot look into uploaded files because they are saved in encrypted form on our server. But people can definitely report if they find any such stuff selling in this forum post and we will delete it. All they need to report is post a product link in comments of this thread and provide a reason to report. You can sell any product that belongs to you unless its not Child pornography or any such banned items. You can read our Terms of Service Here

Due to recent hack event we have added a spam control feature. This is a small number verification field where user enters a number shown in image. We did not use Google Captcha or any other service because these services collect data. Our current verification system generate images on server and after verification deletes them. A Hack Attempt was made on https://selldefi.com. 1100+ Fake products/files were uploaded with some automated software while trying to manipulate system with every uploaded product. A mixture of XSS and SQL injection vulnerabilities were tried. Our input fields are sanitized according to latest security patches available. And we are glad to announce that all 1100+ fake products were deleted and our system is working fine and secure.

I just saw and realized the existence of this platform after @Royse777 launched a Signature Campaign, @bnbstorm, I think a signature campaign will not be enough, it would be better if apart from the signature campaign, you launch a review campaign too and see how people respond in this forum related the platform you are running on.

Total Number of views represents total number of time a page is loaded. Also you are correct it also counts seller visits in views as well. But we cannot exclude seller visits from views because it will require us to log seller information like IP addresses and then remove visits from their IP addresses.
It is not difficult to implement but this logging of information is against our anonymous policy "WE DO NOT COLLECT ANY PERSONAL USER DATA". So total Number of views metric is just to give an estimation to seller about their product. And seller will definitely know either views are from himself refreshing multiple time or from buyers.

This is good as improvement on your end shows you hid to advise and suggestions which means you will have no issues in the future listening to participants here as they are the one seeing and adding more value to your project. You said you have added a new features of "number of views" and if I may ask you a question, is the number of views the number of times you personally log or load the page or what  because I noticed it when I load the page it counts my own view as per I loaded the page which should not be so because if it counts seller own loading, how would seller know the actual number of people that have viewed his or her own uploaded file for sale. It looks funny how only seller would be loading his page to see how many has viewed but only his or her own loading is counting as number of views. It is misleading and not genuine. I would advise this is looked into so as to stop misleading potential sellers on your platform because it does not reflect what you have said as the new features. It is misleading.

Feature Update:

We have added a new feature "Number of Views" for each product. Now sellers and buyers can check total traffic on a product. It can help sellers to understand how their product is performing. And also can help sellers to understand how famous a product is. "Number of Views" on each product show total times a product page is opened. While "Number of Downloads" shows total number of times when someone paid to get that product. We are continuously improving our service to serve Bitcoin community.

Buyer will get files which were uploaded by seller. Payment processing and file delivery is automatic process. Also what we can do here is we can introduce a rating system for each product. If someone buys from a buyer and its a bad product they can rate them 0 so no one else buy that product. We can save people from getting scammed.

If we make it work like an escrow service we will have to manually open and check each file and match it with its description. Which to some extent breaches security and privacy expects for seller. We cannot access their files without paying. So we are only scanning for viruses and saving encrypted files. Buyers can pay and get those files. Our aim is to provide provide anonymous selling platform for digital content. Bitcoin helps us build such platform and we don't need to ask users to provide their emails or kyc.

After a bit of thinking, I fully agree with you that buyers and sellers have to trust each other on such marketplaces.

By the way, i was thinking that how can the site be the escrow in this case because the site has no idea if the file sold is right or wrong. Let's suppose the escrow is provided by the site and the file provided is correct one and the buyer falsely claim that he did not get the required product and, in this case, site can't process escrow in favour of buyer. For me, escrow is not possible in such sites.

Let's be honest. In themeforest or other marketplace how do we trust the files or products listed there? Let them do how they want to run their business. Over time depending on the service they will provide either they will flourish or they will disappear. I don't see there are anything negative to talk about them right now.

@bnbstorm for your marketing my recommendation will be Royse777 or julerz12. They are one of the few who can do your job well.

Your system scans for viruses etc and that is good but there is no grantee that we will get the product we paid for.

The note that files belong to seller, and we must trust them, makes no sense at all. Anyone can upload a fake file or nothing important at all and once we buy them , we will find out that we have been scammed.

You should provide the escrow Servies and protect the buyers interest otherwise it seems that you are only interested in the commission you get from these sales.

Also buyer cannot lose file link if they use same browser which they used for making payment. For example you paid $100 for buying a product. You closed the tab and then came back after 1 hour. You can open product link again. You will see same bitcoin address that you have already paid to. Just click on "I have paid button" and your download link will appear. Product purchase information is stored on buyer browser cache which can be used to download product multiple times without paying again until they clean their browser cache.

It is not like a direct payment. You can just upload files and then you can sleep after sharing your product link .People will keep buying and you will receive payment without need to always send them files each times. Also Buyers do not need to wait for you to come online to send you files. They can pay and get your products anytime. Consider it like you have 100 website codes to sell. You can add description of each product and maybe include screenshot or video links for your website demo. After one time upload you can paste links on services like pastebin and share pastebin link. You have just created a digital store. You don't need to make a website for selling your products.  - why not provide a unique link for the payment page in case the buyer need to return to it in case of connection lost for example ??

 - you could make a field to the seller to put a description of the file or just an url to the description.. (or for anonymity it is possible to make to field just for an ASH of the description so the buyer can check it)! This as an protection for the buyer in case there is some that try selling inexisting items that they don't actually have ! .. like this the buyer may ask for a refund... So making the service like this do not do not provide any addition than just like making a direct transaction between to seller and the buyer!

There is a note added on bottom of each product that files belong to seller and you must trust them. We do not provide escrow services but you will get what seller uploaded after making payment. Buyer must do that on their side.

Our system scans for viruses and we keep data encrypted so our system is protected. But for buyers someone can still upload a virus protected in password protected zip files so buyer must trust the seller before buying. That's why there is no option to view all products that are uploaded on our platform. Sellers only share links with their potential buyers themselves.

You can sell any type of projects. Like if you have made a website or made a new software you can sell its source code. You can sell your new music. You can sell your digital art. Video editors can sell their edited videos to clients. If a file content is unique and you only want to sell it to limited people then there is an option to set sell limit. You can sell a file for like 1 time or as many times as you want. It is like a digital store. You don't have to worry about payment and product delivery. Users can ask the person sharing product link for their product demo, screenshots, videos etc. And they can buy from sellers they trust.

what happens if a seller provide a description and upload a wrong file/damaged or just make a scam? how it can be trusted the contents? did you plan to make escrow on transactions?
what if there are virus/trojan/malware added to these files? did you plan to scan contents uploaded?

Sellers can add description to their products. There is an option to add description to product. In description they can provide details about what they are selling. We have tried to keep things simple in terms of UI.

Basically what files I may need to buy or sell? Pirated contents? Collectibles?

You are right Sir. I checked and noticed same thing too. Participants and potential buyers would find it difficult buying what they have no idea about. If you want it anonymous, there is no issue about that but it would be nice one knows what he or she wants to buy if not seeing it, bit atleast a little description can help a little in having idea what sellers are offering to sale.
I also have a look at the site although it is a new on but the IU is not attractive but a kind of dull to say.
If I may ask how do you confirm to know that the person downloading the file is the one who paid for it. Do you not think that one can copy a transaction hash and claim they paid for it? How does it work?

Also as described earlier it is not good idea to publicly share all uploaded products as they can contain personal data. We will try to find some solution for displaying products in a market way if seller agree to post it publicly. But again it will be a mess to control spam and fake products on market.

I must agree with Royse777. it would be good if you at least make a demo of what it looks like when the offer is set.
maybe it's a good signal for promotion, stimulating users to test your platform. This way it seems rather poor and does not inspire confidence. it's just an impression from your website at first glance.

We cannot open all products links for keeping anonymity. There is a possibility someone want to sell their products to only limited persons. It is better that sellers upload files and then share link with their wanted audience. If we public all products there will also a possibility to replicate products and offer fake/scam files in lower prices.
