Any chances for saffron coin to add more algo then the current 5?

Yes we are flexible to add any algo that has a lot of promise. We had thought of X15 once but then realized it is not yet ready to be used on a largescale and still is not that efficient. In all the X* algos, X11 is the most stable and most efficient.
Once a new algo comes out that gets appreciation like how Scrypt or X11 got, then we would certainly consider it. We would mostly strip one algo out to include a new one. Too many algos are not good.

-devs are always active, have great credentials and extremely transparent. Their names, locations and credentials were listed on the reuters article

I saw the contact info in the Reuters article but no bio info there or on the site. Was there another Reuters article besides the one in the OP?

Location is specified. We are based in India. Some know me from twitter. My handler is @sfrdev and name is Roshan.

Once we complete our immediate developments, we will have a google hangout with all of you so you can have a better idea with what your dealing with. It will also help in transparency for both sides. We will try to integrate the hangout in the wallet.

P.S. I appreciate your interest in the coin and i agree with many scams, you need to do your homework well. Feel free to ask me anything. You can also hop onto IRC #Saffroncoin. I am available most of the time there.

no one should simple reply to that kind of post. all he does is copy and paste what he wrote, and expects others to fill in the blanks. for future reference no one should reply to it. its ok if your asking a question or two but a post like that is taking the mick. unless your person who can move markets i dont think no one should bother replying to that

There are dozens of threads with dozens of pages with dozens of posts across bitcointalk.org, and markets move very fast. I figure, why not save some time and ask all the relevant questions to people who've been following the coin closely - and get opinions/perspectives independent from the devs? Just trying to get quick intel before researching further and avoid the next scam

Time is money. I think you should offer some sort of payment if you aren't prepared to do the work yourself.

Indeed it is, and there are an awful lot of coins out there (most of them scams) that I'd rather not waste time researching until getting a preview from those who've already been heavily involved in them, to see if full research is justified - doesnt make sense, otherwise. Think long-term -- if the coin looks good, consider the compensation more BTC invested into in your coin.

But this way will only get replies from people who have a positive view of the coin, the haters have all moved onto other coins.

Doesn't matter - something new is often revealed by the answer and the more even-handed, honest answers can usually be distinguished from the hype. And it's the starting point of research, not the endpoint.

question from a noob on this coin to others who've been more closely following it:
could anyone summarise what's special about it?

were basic aspects ready at launch - wallet, blockexplorer, website, whitepaper and/or features, etc. - or is the [ANN] promise-heavy?
have the devs lived up to their promises?
Any hidden problems -
premines?
instamines?
well distributed? is there a rich list?
buggy code?
are these are hard core programmers, not "copy-paste" devs or middlemen? When bugs/fork challenge pop up, are they fixed quickly?
dev squabbles?
dev complacency?
missed deadlines?
Is the entirte dev team anonymous -- and even if so, does it at least have a solid reputation here on bitcointalk?
Anything to worry about?

When is the next significant development update (code, screenshots and/or whitepaper/proof-of-concept or something else) expected to come out?

Are you serious ??
For real ? Did you even bother to read OP ?

I think he just landed from another planet...

On a more serious note, why do you think people should bother replying to all your questions when it is clear that you did not bother spending 10 minutes on the thread before asking?

Nice way to make a first impression on a new arrival and potential investor to the coin.

-Basic aspects were ready at launch.
-devs have lived up to their promises. Devs have exceeded their promises.
-premine is 0.000778%...the smallest premine Ive ever seen.
-no instamine
-rich list and block explorer is built into the wallet
-no dev squabbles, there was fud last month about a whitepaper which the devs didnt review and trusted a 3rd party write up and release.
-devs are always active, have great credentials and extremely transparent. Their names, locations and credentials were listed on the reuters article
-no missed deadlines
-Current features...in wallet twitter feed, IRC, BlockExplorer, Poof Anon messaging where the messages self destruct.
Next wallet release will be in a few days and will include SFRbit to spend SFR where BTC is accepted (bringing real life use to SFR as a currency)
      SFRsend anon transactions.
Future wallet will include in wallet trading, expansion on the AnonMessaging system with voice calls and video calls.
-Also in the works, in wallet escrow, fiat, and paypal
-They are also developing their own exchange that will be based out of India, which will trade a host of alts incuding fiat trading pairs.

I really appreciate the response - thank you.

It is a request to all fellow members, please don't post any price prediction higher or lower. There is no fair price in cryptoworld, SFR can surpass any coin's marketcap, it is best out there. So please don't compare Saffroncoin to any coin or post a fair price pridiction.

Thanks and regards

with saffron current accomplishments i think 30-50k sats is a fair price. just look dev future plans

Android Wallet with anonymous encrypted self-destructing messaging service POOF!
Implement an escrow service known as SFRDirect built into the wallet to connect buyers and sellers independent of any exchange Buy/Sell huge amounts of SFR at a single price.
SFRPay integrated into the wallet to buy SFR with fiat through PayPal and further extend it to credit cards.
The same Devs that brought you SaffronCoin will develop an exchange named cryptoxindia.com to trade SFR and other coins in fiat such as INR, USD, EUR. India does not have a multi-crypto exchange so this will be the first.
Could be teaming up with Unocoin, India's biggest BTC only exchange to co-develop cryptoxindia.com and help promote cryptos in countries that are not exposed much to crypto-currencies.
Decentralized Marketplace to buy and sell goods with SFR

Guys one more thing, SaffronBit or SFRBit? Same thing for anon.

We have received reviews from some that say SFRBit/SFRSend is quite difficult to pronounce. Just that "SFR" has to be spelled out in letters. But SaffronBit becomes quite a bit long name.

What about S-Bit and S-Send?
