I'm glad you came here and invited us to discuss the project. I also hope more people to participate in and develop a game that belongs to the community.

any relation to simutronics?

No.

Simugames is just a portmonteau-word of "simulation" and "games" that we came up with.

The community is waiting for your proper announcement, but i advise you to buy a Copper rank for you to be able to post images for the Announcement to look better and eye-catching or just ask someone to post for you or just post here and we can just quote your Announcement to reveal the images.

Thanks, I didn't even know that's possible now:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-can-now-pay-a-small-fee-to-enable-images-2385104
And it's not even that expensive. (except of course that the tx fee will be higher than the actual amount, lol)

Anyway, after which rank are you allowed to post images?
EDIT: ok, it's junior member. I think I can wait that long. No rush.

I hope you make something cool, but it might be a little premature even for a a PRE-ANN  Wink

Thanks.
I think PRE-mature and PRE-Ann go well together.
So don't be PRE-judging while we are still PRE-gnant with the project.  Grin

If you are still in the planning stage, gathering ideas, then, what I can suggest is just look and browse all the game-related projects here. Since a lot of them are already in-place, you can just copy and paste. LOL But seriously, so much projects have been launched already, so why is it that the community still needs you that you seemed not ready to launch your own?

We are pretty indifferent about all the many hash-algorithms out there....
I don't think it really matters for our blockchain-games which one of the hash-algorithms we choose in the end.

We will probably go with something we can set up quickly, where mining-software is available, and where probably even pools aren't a necessity. (we heard of some)

I am aware of http://huntercoin.org/ , that decentralized blockchain game.

Are there others like this?
I mean "actual blockchain games".

Not coins that want to be used as in-game-currency in PC-games, or whatever, that's not what we are planning.

We think we will go with a hash algorithm that isn't yet out of its GPU-phase.

We have a few in our final selection, but would like to know what the community thinks.

Any recommendations?

Will you be creating the same or will you try and get partnerships? Have you got any yet?

we will be creating the games ourselves.
No partnerships are planned or even desired since we want to stay as independent as possible.

What type of games and willl the coins be used ingame?

We think we will start with a small in-wallet-game that uses the blockchain to derive gamelevel-specific content.
Not sure about the specifics yet, this will require some research.

We want to try many things out and ideas are plenty.

Yes, in the end the coins will be tied to the (one or more) games themselves. That's the point.

We are working closely with a growing bunch of artists, who are creating graphics, assets and music for us.

crom_one is currently creating various wallpapers and studies to explore what our gameworlds will look like:

Wallet might trigger VirusTotal Warnings like

Sophos AV (Bitcoin Miner (PUA))
ESET-NOD32 (a variant of Win32/BitCoinMiner.BJ potentially unsafe)

These are all false positives because of the obsolete built-in CPU miner and rpc-mining.
We will get rid of this as soon as possible.

Happy mining.
