PoB is the same deal, the more coins you burn the more chance you have to hit a block. PoB and PoW are very similar.

This is the crypto currency equivalent of ERNIE - See: https://wikipedia.org/wiki/ERNIE#ERNIE

Well kind of similar anyhow.  Cool

Considering this coin - Is there any premine/instamine with this coin? Is there anything else that sets it apart from other coins besides proof of burn?

PoB blocks can be found only after a new PoW blocks have been found. The reward depends on what the PoB difficulty is, the last few blocks have had rewards of 80 coins.

Higher the PoB diff the less the reward ? or opposite ? At this rate PoB reward will be a one digit number (if max is 250)

There can be a PoB pool implemented via P2P pools so some sort. It is like solo mining in PoW. You burn a few and depending on how much you burn, the more likelier you are to find a PoB block. PoW is also based on luck, there have been people mining for hours and accumulated a few blocks and other have gotten 7+ blocks.

Are they interlinked ? Can only one PoB block be found during one PoS block ? If i was to burn 100 coins now, and i hit a PoB block, what would i get ? How do i know if i hit a PoB lock ?

There is slimminer for dcrypt here: https://github.com/slimcoin/slimminer

yes, but can you compile it for windows using xms or so?

I compiled it using mingw. It uses the dcrypt algo by default. Too bad the difficulty is rather high now. It might take a while to see if it works or not Tongue

Compile a static for CentOS5.5 x64 and make 20SLM right now

sorry, I only have ubuntu 13.10 server x64 available (besides windows).

ubuntu runs up-to-date glibc compared to centos, wont work Sad Install a centos 5.5 vm, 30SLM reward , i am feeling generous today!

That -0.01 mint by burn may be a mistaken tx fee of some sort as it is the same value as the tx fees.

Another bug ?

Try typing listtransactions in the debug console and see what comes out there. A few PoB blocks have already been found so far and have been successfully accepted in the blockchain.

Using windows qt wallet here, 0 so far. Whats the point of burning if only one out of 100 burnt SLMs gets the PoB block ? Better ods playing the lottery Smiley

It seems the burn function does not work hence the dev ignoring questions. Better stop those expensive amazon instances until this is solved.

hmm...7 hours without a block. Problem is: I'm using the modified cpu-miner (after messing around for 5h to get the whole build system installed on windows, a pain in the ass!). Now I don't know if it works or not lol...
When running it nun-quit, I saw that there are hases submitted/received, but I can't tell if the wallet accepts them. I guess I have to wait for a block. If I don't find one in 100 years, the cpu-miner does not work, I guess ^^

me too...
