@emmocks: There was a blockchain fork these days, but now the problem seems solved.

I'm on block 46792 like the blockchain explorer. Make sure you have the last version of slimcoin (from July 12, if I'm right) and redownload blockchain (delete addr.dat, blk0001.dat, blkindex.dat).

Also, start the client with "-maxconnections=1 -connect=76.127.202.17". Once you are synced, you should restart without those arguments.

I am burning coins but no resoults. How may coins are you burning? How many coins you gain and how often?

Just uses your stats 101

chance is aproximately totalcoin burned / total coin you have burned

@slimcoin
If I understand right, higher is the number of burned coin, higher is the probability that your burn hash is accepted by the network. In my case, I do not have much computational power -> my mine gains are low -> I can not burn many coins -> My burn hases will be never accepted -> I lost my coins. This is not true for big miners where PoB amplify their gains. Finally also if is possible mine burn hash with low end computers, is not possible gain if you not have high end hardware for mining.
I think that your fondamental idea with slimcoin is fairness, but currently look like be some bugs on your design. What about change the way to calculate the multiplier ?  A raw formula can be:

this help small miners                            this help PoB investors                     this adjust gain
                                V                                                           V                                              V
1 - ((num of burned coin / total received coin) * (num of burned coin / current balance) * some magic constant < 1 )

I have interesting issue...
Mining for a few days at slimcoinpool with a few khs. But my wallet balance is 0.
Deleted my blockchain, redownloaded it with "-maxconnections=1 -connect=76.127.202.17" but still no coins in my wallet.
Is this pool/coin alive?

Best!

a few posts up, the pool was on the wrong fork for a few days

Did you check your address balance with Blockchain explorer (http://www.blockexperts.com/slm)? It should work right now.

The coin is alive, but I don't know if the pool is up, as I'm not POW mining.

I have received few SLM few minutes after my post here... And it's the same amount what Blockchain explorer says (thx!). But it's still amount not connected to pool statistics and my hash rate and my POW time. I'm changing the pool.

I think the actual slimcoin.org website is not that bad. What would be really nice is a dedicated forum. This thread is getting too large. I think a forum with discussions about design decisions etc. in dedicated threads would also attract developers and other technology-savy people and enable Slimcoin to move away from a "one-man-project". There is still much work to be done to make slimcoin a stable, reliable cryptocurrency.

For now, there is the (almost empty) subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/slimcoin/

Can anyone take care of creating a new website for Slimcoin? And a reddit handle as well... we sorely need those 2.

I just finished implementing the bigger updates for PoB and PoS, etc.

The release will be coming soon, within a few days.

Here are the changes:

PoB difficulty is now target based and targets to be found 1 every 3 PoW blocks.
PoS difficulty base was increased to that of Novacoins'.
PoS reward was increase to 10% to compensate for the increased difficulty and make it worth minting (because with 1%, the reward is dust)

PoW, PoB, PoS block "trust" values were adapted to that of Novacoins'.
Previously, PoW and PoB blocks had a trust value of only 1 while PoS trust values were much larger. Now, all block types have a better calculated trust value.

Client starts up much faster. That was possible by modifing the blkindex.dat file structure. That means that when you update, you will have to delete the blkindex.dat and blk0001.dat files and re-download the entire block chain again.

More rpc commands added: getrawtransaction, getpeerinfo, listburnminted.

I have not yet fixed the PoS 100% CPU usage that some may have experienced. It seems to be an issue in the basis of PoS and not Slimcoin's additions. If you want to disable PoS minting, use the -reversvebalance=, where x coins is some large number. That means that PoS will be disabled until your balance is greater than x coins.

good job, keep on going

How many coins i mine in 24 hours?

Can anyone answer this question?

really thanks!

currently the diff is really low... 0.08 or so, but that is because it seems all pools are down

slimcoinpool looks up, but in fact it doesn't find blocks

yeah, thanks...but can you give me a number pls? Sad

With 4 kh/s i mine between 2 and 3 coins a day, but then the diff was 0.2 or something

ok, thanks.

I think i'll give it a try Smiley
