anyone having luck with the sp31 or ship date on sp35?

My SP31s are working great.   What exactly do you need to know?

i may order a 235 to squeeze a few more th/s out of my power capabilities and to have the ability to branch off with a second  company.

I have been scared of dealing with this company. I don't know why this may be wrong but I thought I had read somewhere that the miners were having overheating issues and the company owner was a spin-doctor talker type scammer.

Like I said I there is a strong chance I may be incorrect but I would like more advice before I ship spondoolies 5 grand in bitcoin
SP20's, 30's, 31's 10's all worked fine and the ones that didn't we've gotten RMA's very quickly.

Using some expensive heaters
Does anyone have any stats on how loud a SP31 is at high, medium, and low settings?

I'm considering getting a SP35, but SP10s were a bit too loud for my taste, so I'm hoping a SP31 / SP35 will be easier on the ears due to the larger fans.

I don't even mind running it at a lower speed if the sound is more bearable.
SP30/31/35s are not as loud as the SP10, but they're not quiet by any means. If you're using 120V, the power supply fans will have to run at higher RPMs which makes them louder. On 220V, they may be more bearable. Due to the small size and high speed of the SP10 fans, the noise the SP10 makes is relatively high-pitched and annoying; the SP30s' noise is lower in frequency and more bearable in tone.

You can run these on 110/120v? I remember reading that they required 220/240v...

Can somebody please confirm?

Thank you

SP31 can run on 110/120V but SP35 is a 208V or above only

Nifty! I did not know! Thank you! Smiley

here:

Are the SP35's from stock now or still built to order?
Within about 2 days we'll achieve stock.

You have free electric, right?

If you were to partake in any other hobby, would you expect that hobby to pay you to do it?
I always find it a tad idiosyncratic that people tend to think if BTC price is not above a certain level at any point in the day, mining is not worth it.

just because you get free electric, you continue to mine, right?

I have 3 x SP10's on free electric and could put the rest of my miners into the same unit, but I don't, I run them in a garage @11.4p/kWh because it's my hobby and I expect there to be some outlay for the extra-curricular activities in which I partake.

for making a living, i seem to be one of the few who actually go out to work  Cool

As hobbies go, I'm glad you're not into race-horses .. then it goes a little expensive .. else a little self-sustaining initiatives for a hobby can't hurt.

i leave the betting to my granny, she is a whiz with the geegees, i take old Archie (the grandad) to the bookies every saturday to pick up his winnings and always comes out with a stack of notes. i don't know how she does it, she must be the Oracle.

Not sure how you got the impression that you're one of the few who needs to go out to work .. most respectable ppl here does that, even if they have some stash of coins.

Personal text my ass....

so that psu has a 1250 watt limit from 110 volts to 218 volts?

is this the psu?

https://www.artesyn.com/power/power-supplies/websheet/401/ds1200-series

https://www.artesyn.com/power/assets/ds1200_ds_1219707774.pdf

If it is you are really pushing beyond it limits at anything over 1200 watts.   that is the spec sheet above.  If I owned it I would not use more then 1050 watts on a 120 volt setup and I would use 1200 watts max on a 220 volt setup.

I don't understand why you don't simply tell people  that the high setting are like driving your car at 150 KPH or 90MPH  yeah you can do it but it is not that safe and burns a shit load more gas.  If you drive at 100 KPH or 60 MPH it is easy and the gas mileage is better.
I you were really clear about this you would have less people hurting the gear they own.

Just like the sp20  yeah I can get  mine to do 1725gh  with the fans at 100 and using an evga 1600 p2 psu with a garage door open my power at the kwatt plug is 1300 watts.

 so 1300/1725 = .75 gh

right now I am doing   1328 gh  and 720 watts or     720/ 1328 =  .542 watts per gh

you really should make that clear    to people .

No, the PSU does not have a 1250 limit. The SP3X programming imposes limits, which can be overridden. The override voids the warranty though, if the supply voltage drops below 218V and the PSU is stressed over the acceptable limits.

You might be interested in the best efficiency .. but not everyone is. "free electricity" locations, and/or hosted environments care more about mining stability than performance.  If you can make the unit run stable at top output .. there's the setting some other people might be interested in.

okay I read the spec sheet very carefully and I have run plenty of psu's past spec's but as I read the spec sheet from the psu company if you run 1250 watts draw you are exceeding the psu's warranty limits.

Now this means in order to run to the max gh on the sp31 you must be voiding the psu's warranty numbers.

to me spondoolies  advertisment for the sp31 is not clear enough for overclocker's.

now I am using this pdf as my guide

https://www.artesyn.com/power/assets/ds1200_ds_1219707774.pdf

and it looks like this is the psu in the sp31.

i get that I can go beyond its rating.  I just think that the spondoolies advert is not clear enough to say doing that is like speeding down a highway far beyond the posted speed limits.

Personally I am only going to buy sp20's I am at the game of max efficiency .

If you have a farm with good cooling and want to run the gear beyond spec I am fine with that.
I just think the add makes you think you can get 4.7 th or more  within the psu's spec's .  I would like to see if anyone is running their machine at 4.7th and 2300 watts or even 2400 watts. or if you can show me where in the pdf it reads that these psus can do 1250 watts 24/7/365

I read 12 volts 100 amps max out put  so 2 are 2400watts max rating   or 1200 each.

So while you may crank the fuck out of the sp31 and pull 2600 watts and get your 4.7th you have voided the psu warranty. to do it.

You have free electric, right? Soon as coupons and "holiday" specials are advertised there is something in the consumer mind that just clicks. I bought several other miners, but I'm getting free electricity for them so the return will be alright. Who knows when, but a while.

Just a quick question, I was wondering if there was a guide anywere on how to overclock/underclock these machines, I cant seem to find a how to anywhere but from reading through the threads everyone seems to know how to do it.

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/blogs/technical-blog/16210596-how-to-underclock-sp2x-3x

The simplest way to underclock it is by setting limit to ASIC voltage. Don't touch the PSU watt limitation.
Try by setting starting voltage to all loops at 0.640, and max voltage at 0.645. Always keep max voltage 5 millivolt above starting voltage.
See how much the units provides in hash rate, and how much power it uses in the ASIC stats. Move the voltage up (ex` start 0.66, max 0.665) or down (start 0.630, max 0.635) till you find the spot you want.

Thanks for the help, didn't spot this post on my travels thanks for the heads up.

so under-clocking just a little lower then 1266 watts for 2 sp20's would allow me to  run all those evga's with 2sp20 each.

so I know the sp30/31 can do lower freq then  750 can these sp20's go as low ?  Is this under clock safe?

I have a couple of 1300W EVGA PSUs too. If you can manage to run 2 SP20s on one PSU I would consider getting 2 so keep us updated.

yeah it is a piece of cake on the more costly 1600 p2

I am going to run the 1600 p2 at the 1266 watt 2400gh and low asic freq overnight.

if I am good to go I will test the 1600 p2 at a lower setting  from 7am to 7pm tomorrow.

if it still works I will then do the 1300 g2 with 2 sp20's

Would need to run at 230v and 50% load for 96% efficiency with a Titanium psu.
Indeed.

well I DON'T have the ability to test at 230 volts with a 1600 watt psu  titanium or not.

but I have:

 3 evga 1300 g2's

1 evga 1600 p2

1 seasonic 1200 watt plat rated psu

so under-clocking just a little lower then 1266 watts for 2 sp20's would allow me to  run all those evga's with 2sp20 each.
