I don't know what your problem is with stake age. If you don't stake within 5 days for 10% you earn an additional +2% everyday...
And blocks of 20k- are fine aswell.
If you are in a rush to get btc and worry about coins being unspendable while staking please dump this coin isn't for you.
Also you can split your balance in multiple chunks from start to have a near to max amount available anytime.

staking 10% every 5 days pays more than staking 60% in a single 30 day stake.

example:

100,000 coins * 1.1^6 = 177,156.1 coins after 30 days

100,000 coins * (1+0.1+25*0.02) =  160,000 after 30 days

This is a very basic compounding effect. It's always best to stake as fast as you can after the transaction hits 5 days. Every time you take extra days to stake, you are generating less coins.

Be smart and merge your inputs.

Yep that is the best way for highest ROI

Offer escrow, receive negative trust
What do the devs plan for the future of SPRTS?

The only exchanges I know of are cryptopia & cryptsy....and cryptsy is on the fast track to goxdom.

Surely we need wider adoption for sprouts to grow?!

People forget there is also element of luck in staking.

EXAMPLE
======

Even just a small stake of 1 sprts > 5days old will have a 99.999% probability of hitting a stake.

So, take the 30k example the probability of hitting stake after 5 days will be reduced to 99.91% which will increase chance of hitting stake

*all the above is example to illustrate the element of luck involved.

You could be lucky and only hold 30k sprouts and it hits on the first block after 5th day. 4801 blocks from date of the input.

Why is the 4801 block important ?

Code:
Sprouts has 90sec Block time

60sec * 60sec = 3600sec (1Hr)  // seconds in 1 Hour

3600 sec * 24(hrs) = 86400   // seconds in 24hrs (1 day)

86400 secs / 90sec (blk time) = 960 blocks  // Number of Blocks produced per day

960 blks * 5 days = 4800 blocks // Number of blocks before coins reach maturity

You could be lucky and have a small amount hit on block 4801 blocks.

So to say with 100% certainty that if you hold X number of coins it will take 7, 8th, 9th, 100th days cannot be spot on perfect.

Its a probability it will hit but not guaranteed so DO NOT become disheartened if your only staking small blocks you could also be lucky!

In the grand scheme of things larger blocks stake faster as that is how this pos scheme works.

But you do also have to account for the element of Luck!

Plus, no matter HOW LONG IT TAKES you will still receive your daily 2% pos interest.

The only drawback to longer stake times is you cannot compound your interest as quickly.

I have had small blocks mature on 5th day AND stake later on during the 5th day multiple times in the past.

Its all good, Grab some and stake
And Stay lucky !

Luck always plays a part, it could be instant or you could have to wait longer, no matter what the size the block is.

"...Right now it seems that transactions in the 500k range take 6 - 7 days, >1.5 mil take 5 - 6 days. Anything below 100k and it:s not likely to stake within a reasonable time frame...."

OMG! TT_TT such a waste... i sold all my coins when it was dropping (before my min limit so i didnt lose), it already used to take 7 or 8 days with 30K blocks... but 500K!? for staking in 6 - 7 days? thats a suuuper high number... (1,5 BTC buying at 300sat) ....

don't waste any time, buy now before the btc crash so you get them cheap now, staking goes by bag size

Can you explain that "Staking goes by bag size"

I have 250K in wallet over 4 transactions.  Should I keep all sprouts in 1 address, or spread them around to different addresses?

TIA ~ nh

I keep mine all together cause you hit the block faster and can start on the next stage of staking
OK, is the Age determined by the last deposit to that address?  It looks to reset every time I add additional sprouts
each deposit has its own age viewable in coincontrl

Yes, but ATTENTION!

In a wallet, I had 2 blocks,

First: 12 days age
Second: 1 day age

I received a input more higher that coins in First block and reset age this to zero.
¿¿???
I've lost more to 500 coins..
Sad
I don't Understand..

You should have made a separate address then maybe for any new deposits to your wallet as to not disturb the staking process for the older coins in your wallet. The new input was combined to old input and made output to new balance.. that is now being staked. I will send you 500 coins. post addy again plz. (Create a new Sprouts address this time)

--edit. Only after your coins have matured, you should combine/mess with them.. After they stake wait for the 510 confirms for them to be moved/combined/spent/etc..

Thank you Men

Also see that in the minting area... The bigger the block faster you get the stake.. Let it compound and that's the most interest you will gain

After they stake you should send the total minus 0.01 to a secondary address in your wallet. This merges your inputs. A single large transaction will stake the quickest. Right now it seems that transactions in the 500k range take 6 - 7 days, >1.5 mil take 5 - 6 days. Anything below 100k and it:s not likely to stake within a reasonable time frame.

PoS Reward - 10% 5 Days, +2% for each extra day staking takes......
If I understand it right the first 5 days you get 10% and afterwards 2% of your coins.....
If your statement is right ">1.5 mil take 5 - 6 days" that means you almost never get the 10% stake?!?

Think of it this way, 2% stake interest every day which is unlockable at 5 days which = 10% (2+2+2+2+2=10)

Thanks a lot, I got it, means first stake after 5 days accumulating the 2%! I was worrying something went wrong with the wallet.
Cheers!

Guys, do you know what this message means that I have at the bottom of my wallet?

"WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers of the issue."

I just installed the wallet yesterday and synchronized it from scratch. It's up to date know and receive coins without problems.
Thanks for your help!

It's a checkpoint server error, just means the checkpoint is old and should be updated, it's only visual & won't affect the wallet.

Alright, thanks!

keep making requests to exchanges.
I done all of the above..

Perhaps get some articles done for PR etc.
sustained pressure is only way guys.
Even if we all do just one of the above each day, which takes a few moments to complete its a constant thing and eventually something gives. just like in a pump. Wink

It took me 7 days to stake a 200k Sprouts block, I always keep my balance in 1 block after it stakes so it's quicker.

Yeha the time to stake is getting larger and larger.
