Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like a lot of people are worried about losing coins due to the fork, when really, isn't there a pretty low threat of that at this point?

The only coins that could be lost are ones generated (mined) AFTER the fork and on the wrong blockchain.  I'm pretty sure the exchanges froze deposits before the fork (I know Mintpal did anyway).  And most pools have been down since the fork also.  Unless you directly bought SYS from someone who mined them after the fork, you should have coins generated on the proper blockchain.  And coins generated on the proper blockchain that may have been sent to a wallet on the wrong fork, would likely revert back to the last address on the proper fork upon blockchain rescan.  So in short, the only way to get screwed is if you exchanged BTC (or something else) for SYS generated on the wrong fork.

This seems unlikely due to deposits to exchanges being down since before the fork.  But I'm definitely no expert on blockchains.  If I'm way off here, please, someone enlighten me.

If this is true, it is really good to know. Thanks!

That's what I'm worried about as well, have some SYS in limbo to Mintpal that I sent about 4 hours ago...

We are working to make sure we get on the best chain. We are coordinating with pools and Mintpal/Bittrex to make sure we choose the best chain / cause the least possible damage.

A fork in 12 hours. Mother of god. Longest downtiem ever

We forked too quickly yesterday and look what happened. This should give people plenty of time to stop mining, and do whatever it is they need to do to prepare to update.

Choose the best chain with least possible damage? Seriously? Means somebody's coin might be lost forever and not compensated?

If the coins I sent yesterday end up being lost in the crypto nether, i'll be very sad.
DEV, surely you have a plan to remedy this....right ?

I can't speak for the devs, but I can say that if they were just lost due to these forking issues, you can get them back. I'll write a step by step how to for everyone once all this gets sorted, if it will help.

Also--just a suggestion to the devs--not everyone here is computer savvy or wallet savvy.  Your wallets should work directly out of the box, if you want to appeal to a large audience.  If people have to 'tinker' with them in any way, they will scatter.  Please make these wallets a little more user friendly.

So moolah offers escrow on the terms of a fully functional product. Products werent met. Now we arent being given back our btc... am I missing something here. Did the terms and conditions outline a time? Yes.. the launch date. It failed. Moolah I know its alot of work, but your not sticking to your words here. You have failed us. Syscoin is dead forever, no coin will survive after screwing over every investor.

    Update 8/19:

The fork yesterday was not well coordinated. Some pools updated late and we now have multiple forks. We will be doing another fork to get everyone on the correct chain by adding checkpoint blocks, and adding wallet version checks to make sure those who do not upgrade are not connected to. We are contacting pools and exchanges to prepare for this now. We are also going to try and address the "wallet relaunch and hang" issue in this update.

We will fork within 12hrs - talking to pools/exchanges now.

IF YOU ARE MINING PLEASE STOP. DO NOT SEND ANY SYSCOIN AS YOU MAY BE ON THE WRONG FORK SEND AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEND AFTER THE NEXT UPDATE.
    [/list]

Danosphere thanks a lot for the hard work ,Can you please make a website like eBay where I can sell all my softwares in exchange of syscoin.I dont know how to sell my softwares through your wallet's market place.

    Thank you

Stop asking for refunds.  We're past that point.  You can forget it.  Once the coins were out their side of the contract was completed.

I would suggest that rather than having a bunch of people completely frustrated by non-working/syncing wallets the devs make absolutely sure the new fork is going to work, even if it takes longer.  I'm a patient person, but another day full of checking on updates would irritate even me.

Refunds aren't out of the question but I do want to point out the main issue here has been the regenerated service fees which in turn resulted in blockchain issues. We fixed that yesterday but moved to fast to fork leading to a "bad fork". All of the other syscoin services are working (there is a glitch with merged mining). We are working to resolve the fork/sync issue ASAP.

"Nobody can access their coins and many coins are lost but at least the services work.

AFAIR it was mentioned by Moolah that they will consider refunding BTC to PEOPLE WHO DID NOT move their coins. I am fine with that.

Why don't you email Moolah directly and ask for a refund if that's what you want?  Asking here won't help you.

Another update to the wallet? When can we expect this?

This seems to be the best chain at the moment. We will coordinate with exchanges to verify and force everyone on to the best chain.

Confirm minimum 12 hours right? Won't happen anytime soon right? I don't want to wake up broke

Yes, the fork will happen in 12hrs but the code for the update will be available sooner.

No ones trying to kill this coin.. the devs killed it themselves.. 5x profit, lol are you delusional, this coin is the biggest joke in crypto history. I will no longer be doing business with moolah or mintpal. I don't care if they believe in this coin, I don't because it doesn't work.

It's an ALT coin with tons of features, no surprise they have some problems.  The real surprise IMHO is https://moolah.io/ and the fact they seem to be hedging so much on the grant of escrow services.  If anything I think it's the Moolah reputation that will sink now, even if the coin does well.

Exactly +100 I hope the devs pull through and syscoin takes off but given the history of alt coins that's a bet I'm not willing to take. I only invested because of escrow provided by moolah under the stipulations we have at the least a working product. I'm not here to believe in a coin, I make profit, that's what I do and as an investor, I believe that profit is gone because of our non functioning product. I hope moolah will provide refunds for those that want them, you guys can keep your hopes and syscoin, I'll gladly walk away with my now undervalued btc.
