Can you describe the marketplace for us.

You mentioned that it is like Fiverr. Is the ability to post ratings, pictures, videos of the items possible?

Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
Transparency: I deleted a post that linked to unsubstantiated claims related to Moolah. If you'd like to discuss DOGE/Moolah FUD please keep it out of this thread. Thanks.

So when is this presale starting?

Still TBA...general ballpark figure is posted, but they will need confirmation with the whole team once they have the meeting.

Let me just clarify Syscoin is NOT built from scratch. Syscoin is a hybrid built upon well-vetted technologies. Syscoin is a fork of the Bitcoin codebase merged with major aspects of the Namecoin codebase, and then taken further.

Just wondering what version of the Bitcoin codebase Syscoin is based on?
Reason for asking is to know what BIPs would be incorporated & what API methods available.

scrypt is a great algo, and in case of this coins innovations - algo doesnt mean that much.

Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
Myriadcoin has multiple proof of work and a strong community behind it. http://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/It's the first to have 5 different hashing algorithms and do have a very strong developer team behind it. There's one innovation there.

So if you compromise an entire mining algorithm you get 20% of the mining power. You’d have to compromise 3 different algorithms in order to get to 60%. You’d have to take over the hashing power of the entire algorithm on 3 different algorithms—some are CPU-[friendly], some are GPU [friendly], some are ASIC-friendly. And, well that creates a very interesting scenario.

Quark is another expansion of this with multiple hashing algorithms to prevent a 51%. It's not just multipool. There are some innovation here.

Multiple PoWs is not a major innovation [imo]. Miners have to solve multiple problems instead of one (or a random one of many types of problems- permutations of the same rather simple innovation). Every other coin announcement I see these days boasts this type of claim (15 diff types of algos! 22! 25!), yet it still doesn't bring any intrinsic value-added services to the coin itself. It just changes things a little bit for GPU miners (miner client they run), and prevents ASIC mining in some cases (for now...).

I haven't heard nor reviewed Quark's 51% attack protection so I can't comment on that. I do think FractalCoin may be onto something with their Slingshield but I need to investigate that further, the technical explanation they provided seemed sound but implementation is everything.

The beauty of all of this is that we can integrate any/all of these features into Syscoin very easily (to bring this back to the topic at hand). I'm not saying other coins don't innovate- I'm just saying the coins in that list specifically aren't bringing major innovations to the table at the moment and Syscoin is, so the comparison is inaccurate. I know they have dedicated dev teams and have no doubt they'll do great things, maybe even borrow a thing or two from Syscoin that's what open source is all about!

So, this means....that there is 22,118,400 million coins released in the first 15 days, then 49,766,400 in the next 45 days? Then, 143,769,600 for another 180 days...

Making the total at 240 days = 215, 654,400 coins?

That's such a large number of coins, which makes it very difficult to achieve a >$1/coin market capitalization. It's deflationary, which I like. But it's not scarce enough to achieve >$1/coin valuation. Plus the increase amount of coins that can be possibly dumped, especially by those with the scrypt asics.

Also, 8% = 160,000,000 million premine?

Is this correct?

In the OP it is mentioned that this project is being launched by Award winning team

May you be so kind and elaborate on this. Please present some proof Smiley

Certainly Smiley We were the KittehCoin team. We won "best dev of March 2014" at the Crypto Awards (www.cryptoawards.com); it was determined by popular vote. Unfortunately, at the moment, it appears that that site is down. Here is their twitter feed however(see march 31st):

Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
I've wait for too much time......tired.

Any timeline given?

I know and I apologize but this isn't some fly by night operation. We're trying to do this right. Timeline right now is 2weeks. I have some a call tomorrow that (if it goes well) will allow us to set a hard date and time for the presale launch as we'll have an escrow provider and that's the last item we're waiting for.

How is the development progress?

Excellent, we're testing retargeting at the moment since there may be larger swings of hashing power if merge mining catches on. We're also hardening all of the services. Going to post later tonight with the revised reward schedule and some other items related to development progress.

Quick update: Schedule ran long tonight and I won't be able to post the update I had hoped for tonight, I will however post this update tomorrow in a more meaningful format. Apologies for the delay [didn't want to add another reply to this thread to pass on this info].

could I mine a decent amount with a gtx 680 or three hd7950 on the launch?

Hard to say. It will be like other coins out there when launched so it will depend on how much overall hash is thrown at it.
There is a lot of scrypt ASIC out there now though and it will only get worse.

In order to give people some further insight into exactly what Syscoin is/offers/does as well as "proof" of the thinking and work that's already occurred to make this a functional reality - here is a graphic illustrating the key differences between Bitcoin and Syscoin and the features Syscoin will bring to the table at time of launch (shortly after presale closes). Happy to answer any questions people may have about any of the features coming @ launch.

The "Data Alias"for storing data. What kind of data will this be and will it be stored on blockchain (if thats the case its not that optimal)?

Any data can be stored on the blockchain with a set expiration height. Fees will clearly have to be paid though and there are limits in place.
After it expires it will be removed. As per namecoin fees will initially be high and then be on a sliding scale as block height increases.
A lot more details to follow when we get closer. Don't want to give it all away just yet.

How much data will you be able to store? Do you sense that the blockchain will be bloated as fuck (e.g. the size will be unmanageable).

All I asked was "has there ever been a single successful ipo coin to date" which I think is a perfectly relevant question and will determine whether I invest or not yet the OP feels threatened by it enough to delete it with out answering? Something doesn't feel right

launch time??? Huh

This is currently a pre-ann for the pre-sale, the pre-sale date is not yet decided, the launch will obviously be after the pre-sale Smiley
