Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
Devs,

I agree with whale123 pretty much all the way across the board. But please don't put up any BTC support until major issues are ironed out a bit more AND the fud subsides a bit AND the weak hands have worn themselves out for the most part.

BTC subsidy too  early will weaken the coin early on, and the people who need the handouts this soon probably shouldn't be playing in any market unless and until they have a good comprehension of RISK and can do math in their head on-the-fly.

Give BOTH sides of the issue some serious thought, then weigh it out please.

Very well stated. We made it clear that this big of a shift in coin-code would come with some wrinkles. I agree that the seasoned investors hold. We will weigh both sides.

Devs, please read this carefully.

I've been with this coin from the beginning (posting in this thread since April, following Dano since February MEOW relaunch).
So... no FUD intended.

There is no doubt that the coin has some innovative concept.
There were also some issues at launch that all of us are aware (you luckily managed to solve those issues).

Unfortunatelly, problem is that altcoins are mostly not about technology, but about community's sentiments. And unfortunatelly, there is too much dark clouds above Sys community. We can debate if it is deserved or not but the fact is that there are many people here with negative attitude, which might be a threat for the coin.

Some people bought after launch or were waiting to buy but were disappointed with the launch issues (which were already fixed).
Also, there is many people who invested into ICO and now have worse starting position. This is especially dangerous - we have tu understand, that we have peple with 1500 BTC worth of coins who are pissed that they believed in the coin as one of the first and yet they are on worse position than all the rest. It seems that syscoin believer lost this round and guys who were late to the party are going to win. We can not let that happen. We don't want army of unhappy people. As soon as you get those escrowed BTC's you should definitely use it to set 1500 BTC buy support at 518 satoshi. Maybe some people will decide to exit, but probably most won't just because of that action, helping to protect the price. You don't have to do this, but please, listen to me - you definitely should do this. People won't be listening to innovation news unless they won't feel safe about the price. Sorry, that's how crypto works. I know you pot lots of effort into this coin and it is your dream to make it successful. Don't let this mistake stop it from happening. Protect the early investors who were with you from the beginning and you will only benefit.

Thanks for the meaninful comment. You make a good point and we are working as hard as we can to get that escrow fund released. We need it not only to add buy support but also to pay developers. We have a growing number of developers helping us out for free and they deserve compensation. Presale buyers have had a chance to exit and some got out at 1k satoshi making profits and all that. We are still here working to increase the value,  but have very little to work with "funding wise" until we get that fund. Soon as we have it we can start making a lot happen.

In other news: SYSCOIN CAN NOW BE USED TO MAKE PURCHASES ANYWHERE BTC IS ACCEPTED: https://coingateway.net/

that is a good option. even if someone thinks they should dump will see the huge buy wall and he would rather not dump at all. some people are going to be very unhappy. the same ones that fud all day lure these newbie investors into dumping their coins below ico price. theres so many pump and dump groups at work. always. they sell between 100sat difference and buy back and repeat it all day. investments keep disappearing and people take money and at last dump the rest of the coins as well. it would be great to see this stop here at least.

myself ibought at 465 so i am safe anyway.

Just so you guys are fully aware, our unbiased eskrow service moolah is heavy invested in sys
https://twitter.com/moolah_io/status/501022140230299648

They also have businesses worth a lot more than that - I don't think they would sacrifice their reputation for that kind of investment in a coin. Also I'm actually pretty happy they are invested because I'm personally counting on Moolah leveraging their userbase and front end development talents to actually get people using Syscoin so it can have a high real value, rather than just speculative value - something most other coins struggle with the most.

i see nothing wrong with it. takes guts to invest 140 btc into a coin. good luck to them Cheesy

Who the hell cares? They have a partnership together. And it's obvious the devs are trustworthy and will see the coin through to the end, so what need is there for an escrow at this point? Things are working, devs are busting ass, and investors will be happy with profit soon (I imagine after people get a chance to see the "SysMarket" template Dano's working up)...I'd rather see Moolah release the funds sooner than later so services can start being rolled out properly and people can start seeing what Syscoin is truly capable of.

Also, what other coin has the backing of an exchange/infrastructure as huge as Moolah/Mintpal? I see that as only a good thing, in fact I fully expect it to play out huge for Syscoin's future.

Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
I asked earlier but didn't get an answer.

I tried to create a alias but the Qt complained error:
Error creating new alias: "Error, transaction creation failed "

Now I tried second time but still doesn't work. I've got two 1.002 transactions that are stuck. How can I cancel or remove them?

Did I do something wrong? I first made a syscoin address for receiving payments. Then I pressed the "new alias button" and I did put the alias there.

Have I understood wrong what aliases are (shortcuts for payment addresses?). There is no info of them on the OP or website.

Edit: these fees seem to be collecting confirmations forever. One has already 54 confirmations. Do they ever end? The sent to: is blank.

You need to activate the alias after new, for example:

aliasnew "MYALIAS" ~ 1SYS at current fee schedule pricing
aliasactivate "MYALIAS" 12437y9c0dd7e0 "ALIAS VALUE" ~ 5K sys ""

Fees move down on a sliding scale. This is the fee price discovery schedule we communicated prelaunch. It lasts 90days then we'll implement dynamic fees.

I posted this a number of times but it might have got lost.
I suggest you use the console in the wallet for now..
We will be fixing the issues when using the wallet but it is a case of priorities atm

@DEV, I created two aliases (a and t) but I can't find them in wallet 0.1.2 , just disappeared, the tx id, is there a way to get them back?

Just in case people don't know.

Here is a list of commands and descriptions :
https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/blob/master/COMMANDS.md

In most cases you have to call it in the following order
new then followed by activate

But do be careful, the fees are quite high initially in order to avoid attacks on the blockchain.
They will be lowered on a sliding scale over the next 90 days..

As most of these services are a first in the crypto world we need to do some price discovery and see how everything works out and if we need to adjust..

Fee schedule here :

Just finished the service fee tiers doc:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1x8dv0pGyRCeT8aXIEQpgNiq0ENxJKwEO_PmZqnxJERk/edit?usp=sharing

The only thing I am not sure about is if offers aka marketplace will be priced per kb or per offer; the sheet has them priced per kb. Please take note of the scaling value of Syscoin from 1k - 1.5k satoshi and the decreasing cost in USD of the services relative to that increase in value. This shows 6months but as you can see in a few places and via the blockheights this is compressed to 90days. Open to feedback! Lmk if we got any numbers wrong but almost all formula driven (for sanity purposes, this doc alone represents many hours of work).

If you want to play around with commands :
...
..
how does one go about using the marketplace anyways.

The marketplace uses the "offer" commands. This is intended for devs to build on as business opportunities for them (of course once we iron out the smaller wallet issues listed above). Remember all services cost fees so if you want to play with these for free - use the testnet. In the console type "help" you'll see a number of "offer" commands. These commands are used to list/view/buy items on the Syscoin blockchain. If you type "offernew help" for example it will tell you how to create an offer, after which you will need to activate it before it can be purchased by others using "offeractivate".

We have a boilerplate market for devs started (https://github.com/syscoin/sysmarket) who want to start building on this- we are happy to take pull requests related to this front-end to bootstrap people and get them going. It uses the Syscoin JSON RPC and admittedly lacks documentation which we will add over this week. We're also adding more functionality to the QT wallet itself related to the market, but the QT wallet is intended to be a "reference client" so it just mirrors the daemon commands.

somehow alias registration is 5k+sys. a bit too expensive

It was 1SYS + 0.002 transaction fee yesterday.  Huh
i was expectingn1,sys tbh. it didnt say a price. big.mistake

That's super harsh just taking your coins without a confirmation of the price or "are you sure" warning or anything. Sad

We have logged this as an issue and will be addressing it. Definitely not user friendly.
No i cant see it been iser friendly lol. Alias TimmyD most expensive alias to date

When will the market work?
And I mean the buttons and not some shitty command lines.
When will we get notifications when we have to pay something?

Market works now- you want QT improvements those will come this week as soon as we can get the funds released from Moolah. We need to pay devs.

when will pay the bounties? Cry

There are a few (3) issues we need to address before everything is totally 100% working. We're doing this today. Then we pay bounties. Been trying to mitigate all this FUD too.

You must aliasnew + aliasactivate in order to lock in an alias. If you aliasnew without activate someone can still grab it from you by aliasnew+activate before you. Price of aliases is high in order to discourage abuse. Please see notes about 90day price discovery schedule posted here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1x8dv0pGyRCeT8aXIEQpgNiq0ENxJKwEO_PmZqnxJERk/edit?usp=sharing
