maybe you could compile a terracoind for windows to work with sentinel?

It isn't terracoind for Windows that is the issue.

We are working on an exe for Sentinel for Windows.

Remember, you don't need Sentinel for a normal wallet.  You only need it to run on a masternode.

My terracoin masternode is up and running again.  I was aways running standalone on Windows 10, but never could get it to work with Sentinel.  Now I'm doing hot/cold Linux + Windows, and Sentinel is doing its job.  So far it's been stable for over a day.  Used to die every 3 hours or so.  If anyone is having problems, try setting it up that way.

Awesome.  We are working on a Windows Sentinel exe to make it easier for people who are running Windows/Windows masternode installs.

Hey..

New to all this.

My understanding goes this far..

Masternodes needed to sustain terracoin network (or any mining network)

Mining software is required to mine.. And I want a 2nd "bitcoin boom" from this coin as it's identical to bitcoin essentially and well I can see people switching over without too much of a drama..

Also I'm certain bitcoin moguls will want to double their investment with as little messaround as possible.

This would be the way to do it.

How do I go about getting setup as a miner?

Also, does this require a high end nvidia or ati card to achieve massive mining results or can anyone get in on this before the boom starts here?

One last question..

Is there a wallet app for android and apple phones yet?

Seriously want this coin to allow people move from bitcoin to here.. As well as being able to store coins..

Thanks.

So Terracoin is no longer very similar to Bitcoin.  A lot has changed in the last 2 years.

You would need an ASIC miner to mine Terracoin.  Terracoin does have merge mining so that means that while you are mining Bitcoin you also can mine Terracoin.  I recommend using a pool such as zpool.ca or multipool.us so that you can benefit from mining all merge mined coins.

An easier way for a new person to get in on Terracoin is to set up a masternode.  I can post a guide if you want, but the first step would be to purchase 5000 TRC for collateral.  We also are always available to help any new people who need it.

I believe Hanzac is working on an Android app, and if you have skills in that area feel free to put in a proposal to the decentralized governance for pay for it.

I have problem with sentinel. I run linux QT wallet but sentinel not connect to JSON wallet. I have terracoin.conf. properly set. But still not works. Sentinel works only with terracoind???

Sentinel does only work with terracoind because it is independent of the QT client.  You would then be required to run the QT all the time to maintain your masternode.  If you just have a wallet running and not a masternode you don't need Sentinel.  That is just for masternodes.  I may be misunderstanding what you are doing so tell me.  Thanks!

Wow, what a classic coin that did not go that well, any explanation for the long stagnation?

I took it over almost two years ago and things have been looking up since then.  We are on 6 exchange (NovaExchange is closing it's doors so 5 after that), and we have added DGW, merge mining, decentralized governance, and masternodes.

If you want to help combat the "stagnation" feel free to set up a masternode and put in proposals to the decentralized governance.  Thanks for stopping by and welcome to the community!

My wallet stopped syncing 10 days ago and won't start again, anyone else?

Reindexing will fix the issue.  If you are using the GUI go to Tools > Wallet Repair > Rebuild index.  You will also need to install Sentinel on all of your masternodes to continue to get rewards.  Thanks!

I have emailed all of the exchanges, except Coingather (it is down) asking them to reindex and then take Terracoin out of maintenance!

you would have to setup sentinel to use the terracoin.conf to do anything to the coin so it wasnt you.

Hello everyone, I hate to be that new guy. But I just thought I should make an account, to thank everyone for the ongoing support and also see if I can double check my configuration. I put up a masternode about a week ago on the 29th using u3mur4's script. At the time I noticed a lot of masternodes in error states, but I guess I didn't think very much of it as it was late and the one line script had worked it's magic.

Over the next few days, I noticed the active nodes drop. Puzzled I looked up what had happened. I was worried when I heard sentinel was the cause for the break in the network as a separate user account on my vps required to run it for a different masternode coin. Even though this had all occurred seemingly a few days after the stormchain I thought I should come clean about it anyway in case it can help any of the developers. I assumed that separate user accounts would help to prevent any conflicts but please let me know if necessary and I will move the node to a dedicated vps.

I removed the script and immediately pulled the github for the current version and configured sentinel,
since then I voted and re-indexed my wallet which removed the pseudo payments and got the core wallet back on the right chain.
Iv'e just restarted and re-indexed daemon on the vps so hopefully that will sync eventually too.

Should we be allowing any additional ports for sentinel?

Also, currently I have sentinel installed as:

(Coin 1) /home/user1/sentinel
(Coin 2) /home/user2/sentinel

Please let me know if this is a problem as I currently have at least one instance of sentinel on most of my vps's configured with a few different coins, in this fashion.
When I run separate tests they both give me the expected outputs.

I hope that I can do my part in keeping the network secure in the future, this seems like a great project and i'm really glad to see such an active community through this development.

Sorry to take up a post.

I wanted to know when will it be available in cryptopia, I know Terracoin and Bitcoin are just the same age which is cool cause it still exist in 2017 hoping that this coin will be a decade old again.

IMO the dev is working on a forking issue and has put exchange on hold. once the fix is stable and working, dev will email exchanges to enable withdraw

when is the wallet in Cryptopia gonna be out of maintenance? The 10k trc i sent there still missing...
Have you tried to resync your local pc wallet? Maybe it's there. Check the transaction in explorer.terracoin.io. If it's done, then wait for cryptopia.
