Project: WeTrust

The main tagline from the website is:
A platform for Trusted Lending Circles, powered by people and blockchain.

The slightly longer explanation from the whitepaper is:
WeTrust is a collaborative savings, lending and insurance platform that is autonomous, agnostic, frictionless, and decentralized. WeTrust utilizes the Ethereum blockchain to create a full-stack alternative financial system that leverages existing social capital and trust networks, eliminating the need for a “trusted third party”, allowing for lower fees, improved incentive structures, decentralized risks, allowing a greater amount of capital to reside among the participants, and ultimately improving financial inclusion on a global scale.

Personally I find the concept very interesting. The goal is to build a platform with increasingly complex alternative financial and insurance products. The first product being developed is an application for Trusted Lending Circles (aka Rotating and Saving Credit Association/ROSCA).

They have a website at www.wetrust.io, a blog at medium.com/wetrust-blog and there is a proof-of-concept available on rosca.wetrust.io. To hear the Founder's talk more about the project in their own words, watch the CoinFund's Hangout or listen to the Blockchannel's podcast with them.

Hey this is amazing.

I have the feeling WeTrust can still handle great things.
Right now the interest is huge.

@s0nix: Thanks man! Appreciate your continued support. Things are happening so fast!!

Insurance is a very regulated industry. I have read your material and I do not see how you plan to do an ICO with a publicly traded coin and make this a legitimate business? Seriously asking this because it looks like a stretch in my opinion.

@polick: WeTrust is creating the ecosystems for trusted associates to save and lend amongst each other. Friends and family can invite each other to private groups and our platform will enable to safely pool their funds. In this sense, our platform will serve as more of an automation and accounting tool. Let me know if you have further concerns.

We are working with a reputable US law firm with over a hundred years of history and ample experience in FinTech. The two lead attorneys have over 20 years experience with SEC compliance and securities litigation and General Counsel experience serving prominent crypto-currency/ FinTech startups (>$70m raised from top VCs, leading a successful acquisition for >$500m). We want to get it right and will work with the best people to do so.

Conclusion - Neutral (with a possibility of being positive)

Not bad coming from the Iconomi newsletter. If Iconomi eventually decides to invest in this one then that's going to be good news.

hi guys let check this thread and vote wetrust for the future Smiley

I voted for WeTrust but I am surprised why WeTrust and Edgeless is being compared with each other while both projects have different objectives.
Edgeless is a decentralized casino while WeTrust is ethereum based Trust lending circle.
Is there any similarity between two?

Just the same start of fundraising campaign in both projects. Besides this nothing in common.

I did vote for WeTrust at the time of voting the result shows that 75% of voters believe that Edgeless is a better investment than WeTrust. I will follow the performance of both ICO and check if crowd wisdom is always correct, remember Brexit opinion poll

Crypto is Life!

Another day, another ICO. The total amount of investments raised by The DAO, Ethereum and Waves alone comprised nearly $195 million. However, most crypto fundraising campaigns still occur in legal vacuum. So why do crypto projects prefer the crypto-based way of raising funds over those traditional, like venture capital financing?
ForkLog contacted George Li and Patrick Long of WeTrust to figure out the real reasons behind conducting crypto fundraising, and to find out more about the project, which is set to launch its ICO in a few days.

ICO is best because it open doors even for the small investors regardless of the language they speak and location where they reside.

I am located in Mauritius. Those who don't know, I live in a small island where e-commerce is now at the start of its cycle so crypto is inexistant

Moreover venture capital financing are done by already wealth people who have the money, so if you have a small amount, then you are not in. Small people gets eliminated and we clearly see a centralised ecosystem here, not giving the chance to everyone

Here is my analysis why ICOs are best
