Only risk is we fork the coin, so what ? Then either we sync to the other nodes or the others to us.
You dont wanne tell me that we do think / plan about attacking the coin and change the chain ? You dont have to worry about that I can tell you.

This isn't a gimmick, it's to prevent one pool from having over 51% of the network hashrate, it would be called incentivizing since no one seems to be wanting to do it by themselves.
