When this coin starts to get more attraction it could seriously fly.

My point is that posts like yours add absolutely nothing to the discussion.

They are just rants that scare off potential buyers for a solid coin.

You ranted that you're losing money on a high risk high profit investment, guess what, it's high risk.

For all we know this coin could die in few months (I don't see that happening).

Just to say, there are here people like me that bought this coin when it was priced 4 times the current price and are not bitching.

Either you buy and hold and wait or if you fear of losing your money you dump now, it's not like you have many other choices.

Regardless, price in fiat is kinda pointless since it's tied ot BTC price, which felt by a lot recently.

Small update.

I have been talking with the namecoin dev about Auxpow (Merged mining). They are merged mined coins upstreams.
They had issues with Segwit, BIP9 Auxpow quirks and wanted to hardforks to fix the versionbits issues.

Viacoin solved this by using miners signaling only and block height timeout for it if they didn't signal.
So Namecoin is looking if they can use our method and together we might get a better Auxpow C++11 implemention.
Right now that's holding me back a bit.

Another update.
Ledger Nano S will support Viacoin Segwit transactions. I just updated the code.

Its not gonna hurt via, but it might hurt some newcomer who might get confused and buy it. Very irresponsible of exchange to do that

And it is short-sighted to think that it's good that via goes from 2 dollar to 1.2 dollars again so you can buy more. Only with Bitcoin you could say that but with alts that's another thing.

Bitcoin is here to stay but more than the half of alts that exist today will die within 3 to 4 years and will be replaced with other new alts. And like i said, it's not always the best product that take the number 1 spot. But the product that the people know or learn to know.

And a coin without good marketing and a pump an dump reputation (even if it's not a pump and dump coin) will miss the train and will die.
And then al the cheaper coins you bought will be worth 0. good luck with that.

And you need to stop compare crypto with stock markets. It's not the same thing. Also i started with 3 k 2years ago and already made more then 50 K profit and still have a crypto wallet of 60 K butt still i'm not so stupid to put all of my profit in 1 coin just because of the reasons above. and i know there are a lot of others guys here who made a lot more than i did but i don't think i'm a fukking newbie.

And maybe you do'nt follow much other alts but a couple of shit coins are rising like hell with 1 medium upgrade and if you loke at VIA with a super dev and al the good upgrades and news rise up from 1 to 2 dollars to be dumped to 1.2 again. It's sad to see that and if via cant brake trough VIA and all the investors and believers (Me 2) will miss the train. And again all you're cheap coins you bought will be worth even less to maybe 0.

And now in these days long term in crypto can be 6 months because crypto is just starting and in 6 months a lot can change for the good but also the other side.

Obviously marketing is a part of it but in the end id rather have my money on a forward looking team like via has.  Short term ups and down are expected in every alt, via isnt alone in that.  There is no coin with a straight line up.  If you believe in the vision than buy, hold and dont worry about week to week fluctuations they are meaningless if you dont sell.

total agree with marketing. Nowadays the newcomers tend to invest in something that has a good marketing, they don't do their research because they think it's useless and not worthy for their time. They see a shitcoin with a good marketing plan and they think it will skyrocket but the utility of the project it's equal to zero.

I'm in for the long term and believe verry hard in via but it hurts a lot to see a decline from 2 dollars to 1,2 again after all the work and progress. also the market goes from 170 to 30 btc on polo  

If VIA rise up to 5 dollars before the end of the year i would still keep my VIA.
Because i think VIA goals can be long term (2020) at least 50 bucks a piece maybe even more.

But the problem is marketing i think just like SIA has no marketing.
You see fucked up coins that are just air (no product) rise up like hell and doing x100 x1000 profit.

I think VIA, SIA and a couple of other verry good projects need to watch out for lesser projects with super marketing skills.
Because it isn't always the best product that takes the crown.

For example: HEINEKEN beer vs STELLA ARTOIS.

Ik think not many folks on this forum ever heard about STELLA but it's al lot better than HEINEKEN.

HEINEKEN is the piss of a cow who drinked STELLA.

i installed viacoin core 1337 win64 , i downloaded the blockchain from cryptochainer and followed the instructions @ https://cryptochainer.com/dir/?page_id=154

but when i open the program i get "error opening block database, do you want to rebuild now" click ok and get "error opening block database"

any suggestions?

I haven't used that wallet, but if it's an address you generated within the software, then yeah, send your coins to it. Or like the other guy said, send a couple first. They should show very fast?

If you are not sure that it is a right address, send very few vias first and if coins appear in your wallet, then send the rest
