I have compiled few wallets earlier and it was smooth process and this issue stopped me like you. After few attempts with different approach I figured out that permissions are missing for scripts. I am glad that I could help a little.

than compile so run "make" again.

In Linux not compiling:

money are stored in local wallet on your PC. you can keep it open ( you have current status of MN) or you can close local wallet. in second case you need to sync local wallet to get current status of MN. you can also watch MN status via this page https://masternodes.online. personally I keep open local wallets but I have mining rig which is still running anyway
