Can someone explain to me the purpose of releasing a scrypt based coin in 2017? We moved to scrypt back in 2014 or whenever due to the rising ASIC threat, yet there are now tons of ASICs for scrypts. It just assures that this coin gets added to a multipool very quickly then the difficulty will jump around wildly when the massive pool(s) switch over to it temporarily. So why not produce a new PoW algo that will be impractical for ASICs or even just general mining?

There is always a good feeling for pow coin, because I think only hashing can keep a coin stable, and a decentralized hash can keep the whole community intact and not be concentrated.
