ATTENTION
The Bittrex coin swap converted 2 CLD for every XCLD.
Therefor you will have 50% the amount of XCLD as you did CLD.
With half as many XCLD total (only 575k) it is like a reverse stock split.
(Mu understanding is that the coin swap was necessitated because a new blockchain was needed to roll-out the new features.)

The motivations for change in coin supply is known by the dev and not to me. I believe your instincts are correct.
Bear in mind though that the new blockchain was required for new feature roll-out iirc

I'm staking albeit slowly. Make sure you're running new wallet. Perhaps wait longer? Make sure wallet is unlocked etc

Could you also write in the OP the staking percentage for the following years, as it's much lower than the first year, in fourth year only 1 percent alreday, right? This is important, as the total number of new coins will slow down considerably after the first year or two, which means high price should be maintained.

Pls explain more about the XCLD CloudSend feature… is it original code or a copy of somebody else's stealth address implementation?

XCLD is currently packed with features, cloudsend is currently integrated along with stealth address to give an extra layer of anon (yes is working), you could try it your self!
the white paper is just to make it official and give all extra details.
