Is this project ready to use? In particular, if I need to run a heavy calculation, can I use elastic already?

It's fucking Christmas, I can't believe people are dumping $XEL at these prices. I'm accumulating as much as I can.  Grin What are people thinking, is the whole China ban scaring them Huh People will look back and regret not believing in Elastic.

can you use elastic in the real as well as speculate?

You question is not clear...
If you meant to ask if Elastic can be used for real use cases, the answer is it will, after the full release is out. Speculative value as always, is up to the market to decide, just like any other project out there.

I haven't really followed the developments much, but what are the wallet choices with XEL now other than the web wallet we all used in the very beginning?

Windows wallet

where can I find a road map? what will be the next developments in this project?

There's no roadmap - it's true open source project - anyone can jump in/out at will.
The next step the node that will allow for computing tasks - currently under development by EK and coralreefer.

Check progress here

and here

or use slack channel https://elasticfans.herokuapp.com/ if you want to contact the devs

Hello... i'm having issues with Forging.

"Your effective balance is zero, you cannot forge. (Effective balance is your balance after 750 block confirmations)."

I'm well over 1500 blocks on my deposits...

Any suggestions?

You need minimum 1000 XEL to start forging - see here https://www.mynxt.info/forging_calculator.php

I'll post this topic in the old thread to help get people over to here.  Seems the old thread continues to get bumped by new posts.

Is there any reason to believe that this will or can really become a super computer that is decentralized?
Here I thought we were investing in rubber bands

Yes the primary rubber bands on a blockchain project Wink

Actually, those will be magic rubber bands  Cheesy

Depends on the task you ask the computer to do.

Distributed computing is not new: Do you remember project SETI running on the PS3? Or the protein folding thing.

Tokenization makes things (almost) simpler and allows people to get "paid" for the computing.
