Hi guys,

Here (http://raspi2miner.is-great.org/xmg-magi-coin-rpi2-optimized/) my first result with Raspberry Pi 2 and compiler optimization active.

Actually show 4.72Khash without any overclocking of RPi2.

All based on Wolf0 V2 miner.

You can choose to download the original Wolf0 V2 miner from #1 Post of this thread or download mine with compile instruction added.

Actually i've changed nothing to code except minerd help output.

Now next step.

There is no bug shown in Windows 2008 VPS, just stop the cpu limitation after some hours then the cpu limitation is not working after re-started again. Afterall, I'm not dare to try again because I might be kicked off if overloaded the cpu.

As I see the CPU usage in NeedIfFindIt's version is calculated based on block reward. I guess we might need to add maximum CPU limit (any situation).

True. In 0.96/0.97 if the hashrate/blockvalue is at the targeted 22MH/s/12XMG/Block it will run at 100%.
(and it happens pretty often in the morning EU time)

Today I got some time to finish the 0.98

Changelog:
Code:
- added ability to set your own target for Network hash rate.
- added ability to set your own target for Block Value.
- added ability to set Min & Max CPU usage.
- just 2 miners included (special thanks to Spexx & Wolf0).
- now it shows the % in reverse way (90% becomes 10% etc.).

What is this?

Don't be surprised that it gets detected as "having miners". Yes, it has 2 of the best magi miners.

In the package there are 2 readme.txt files with links to this forum.
Win32
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10287654

Win64
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10303469

This is where I got the miners. I use them for 2+ weeks and they seem to be trustworthy.

Now I posted also a version without any miners:

Anyway since 0.98 I uploaded also the source.

(you can always try compiling yours or use the code to make your own tool Grin)

Mining Co-operative
To whoever recommended a GUI for MAGI, here it is Cheesy:

https://github.com/JasonXtreme/MagiGUI/releases/tag/v0.5

It's a rough draft as of now, but as soon as a time windows opens for me, It'll get some very nice features and upgrades Smiley Included in the package are Spexx-es and Wolfs Win64 and 32 miners, I hope that's ok - credit has been given. Perhaps this'll help coax a friend to join the MAGI community Wink

Nice little program and the miner compilations are used absolutely with my blessings Smiley

I got a little update for you - a complete list of mining pools to go with the program:-

https://www.dropbox.com/s/nuuwg7kjjk4rzhx/PoolList.txt

Just download and over-write the PoolList.txt supplied with the package. Simples.

Edit: Please include your XMG address in your sig so we know where to send donations Wink

Coin of the Magi!
Happily XMG is not already on BTER.com.
This is what makes it hard for crypto to be accepted worldwide.
Which exchange will be next?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7170 BTC got stolen from our cold wallet in this transaction:

720 BTC bounty for chasing it back.

All wallets have been shut down and withdrawals of unaffected coins will be arranged later.

Hard stage of adaptation. Hackers got digital currency's weak spot. Another lesson learnt. Well, what else we should do? Just set a goal    on security matter. The best exchange on this field will be number one soon.

My suggestion is always keeping coins locally, would be even better in a laptop which is only for crypto to be safe; transfer funds only when you need to exchange.

Oh, and as far as slogans go, I just had to post SOMETHING Wink
First:

As David crushed Goliath's skull, so will MAGI conquer all!

And second, a bit less agressive and VERY recycled:

In the end, not even Bitcoin's might will be a match for MAGI's brilliance.

I like the sound of the second Cheesy

Nice! I like them both! Make tweet of them a have a change to win 1000 XMG!

Hi guys,

if someone interested, here a good idea, very low cost.

XMG Mined with Raspberry Pi 2

http://raspi2miner.is-great.org/

Nice; what's special to make it work on Raspberry, or same compilation as in linux?

Hi joelao95,

actually ( first try ) it's really similar to linux compilation.

I've only added -mfpu=neon for some optimization.

But on next try, maybe i need to change some code (actually not checked) to better implement the neon technology.

Also with latest raspbian and wolf v2 source code, you've to remove the -march=native

But 5khash for a $35 device low powered i think is good.

Next step:

- better implement neon code (if possible)
- try with other algo

regards

Keep us posted.  Smiley Also would you be able to find out the power usage khps / W?

Thanks.

Hi joelao95,

consider rpi2 working power is 900 mA (4.5 to 5.5 W).

At the moment i've not checked how much power needed for 5khash, but the worst case is 5.5W, the best case is 4.5W.

Very cool to see results on this, it will be interesting to see how it works with windows 10 when its released for free for the Rpi 2 http://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2015/02/02/windows-10-coming-to-raspberry-pi-2/
