AMD FX-8350 4.00GHz = 96kh/s (ubuntu 14) at 100% CPU usage which I'm not actually doing. I'm just doing 6 cores. I wouldn't want to kill my sexy processor.

Your one is nice. Same here: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz, but with 6 core, I only got 70kh/s, ~90kh/s 8 cores (Xubuntu).

This cpu came with my AMD GPU rig, never used for mining. (I promise my AMD GPU is not mining XMG right now).

Coin Magi Video Teaser - Introduction to the First Hybrid: PoW/PoS-II

I'm still working on the pool to get it to support the network
In the mean time, I came up with this to help spread magi around

Just started hashing. Using a i7 4770k and getting about 4.9  khash/s per core. So around 39 khash/s total. Does that sound right to you guys?

That is low. you should be getting double that.

Any idea where I am doing something wrong? bat:

minerd.exe -a m7mhash -o stratum+tcp://xmg.suprnova.cc:7127 -u worker -p password -t 8

Also, I dropped the thread down to 7 and got 39 khash/s with an average of 5.5 khash/s per core. Interesting...

What if you set a lower number of cores, try to compare with -t 6, -t 4

I got an impression, AMD has a higher hash than intel?

6 threads gives me 36 khash/s
4 threads gives me 30 khash/s

Anyone else with a Haswell i7 want to share? Perhaps the miner is not optimized for my cpu. BTW I have a 2nd computer with same 4770k in it and same results.

4770k -t 7 77khs
I7 2600 non K -t 7 65khs
I5 3570k -t 3 44.90 khs
I5 2500 non k -t 3 40khs
I7 2600m -t 7 36khs
I7 4900M -t7 44khs.

hopefully that gives you guys a rough idea as to what cpus should preform at, all useing windows 8.1 btw.

Apparently I was using the 32 bit miner. 64 bit miner gives me 75 khash/s on 8 threads. Much happier, but I think my CPU could still do more. Anyone?

If you switch to linux you might get better than that.

I was thinking about something. Will XMG price be stable? As mining difficulty grows the block reward grows. What will effect the price on exchanges?

This will be an interesting topic to think about.

Usually, more coins = low price. As for XMG, difficulty growing means more people are mining us, that also means more people know XMG ... Initial miners don't have higher priority to those mining later on.

Coin of the Magi!
I think we should convince some shops and services to use magi as a currency.

magic shops? Smiley

Not a bad idea actually.. Magic is a multi million dollar industry. Ranging from toddlers who dream of being a magician and elders who have years of experience on their belt practicing to become a powerful magician.

How do I know?  I was once there.. seeking to learn my ways in the world. Well, I figured it wasn't for me as a profession, but many people make a living of magic.

Why not a currency that seeks the demand?  Show them how to mine, and accept Magi.  Teach them the fundamentals of this space
and maybe someone can make the first viral video showing crypto world how they can make ASIC and mining farms disappear? hence = m7m aka (magi)

"in this video, I'm going to perform a new magic trick to make ASIC miners and large mining farms disappear...
are you ready for this?

3..2..1..

Magi!"

This dream isn't far from reality.

Video will be nice, get it into YouTube, people can learn this coin in a quite easy way; video contest could be something we can do ..

Totally agree; I can think of two approaches: 1) advertising; advertisement is always a better way to expose the coin; more people know magi, higher probability magi picked up; anyone who has idea on that let me know; 2) people having connection with shops tell them about magi. Before that we may be better to go through coinpayments. We will need to have a better organization of our team and marketing plans are being forged later on.

+1

I say ascics (custom chips), but you have a point, to totally make them disappear you would need a mutating algorithm that employs various types of mathematics. You probably still could build minighardware to circumvent that, but it would be very very expensive.

LOL, Asics disappear?! That will never happen, maybe for a year or two, but there are ways of working around algorithms.

I think we should convince some shops and services to use magi as a currency.

There is a lot of speculation there, you probably will only know once it happens. If we get magi into services we may avoid a potential drop happening. With limited amount of coins the value should hold strong.
