Btc is still upwards. What will happen after the holidays?
At the moment i can share that my recovery will take some time. Lots of pain but thinking that it could also end different. The crash was very hard and i'am happy i did not broke my neck. It was very close but i'am still alive! Smiley
Hopefully you can get some time to relax and recover a bit over the holidays. I hope you are not off work for too long... I hope they have a good illness and injury scheme where you are.

I have a wonderful short story to share with you - it is called:

"The Gift of the Magi" by O. Henry, written in 1905 -

https://www.auburn.edu/~vestmon/Gift_of_the_Magi.html

Try to get past the old English words, there are only a few.
But it is definitely worth reading!  Hope you enjoy it.

Haha, cool stuff - interesting read - thanks for sharing Coins-r-Us =)

Volume is down on Trex again today, there seems to be a nice buy wall - but not much of a sell wall. I guess a lot of people are holding onto their Magi for the POI campaign
Might be to collect a higher interest.

more and more people keep asking in DMD thread what is this blockchain federation
what is launching today

and how will the future be

and i just said:

@cryptonit - I must admit I haven't followed the "Federated Blockchains" initiative and what is it all about?  I have looked over their posts but I am still confused what the benefit is to Diamond.  Can you please elaborate or point me in the right direction to read up on it?

Thanks - pokeytex

long story short its a series of projects that several blockchain communities create together

today some local bitcoin alternative will launch that have also room for altcoins and we DMD Diamond are in from day one

but thats just a little piece and not even using "Federated Blockchains" technology (it runs on normal web infrastructure)

in future we will see many more services and apps released that via "Federated Blockchains" can be used by many coins

and then this will use technology that interconnect coins via a new since over 3 years in development API solution

"internet of coins" and "Federated Blockchains Initative" cooperate to make this happen

more details u can find here

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/launch-permissionless-federated-internet-of-coins-crosschain-apps-more-1692720

i really belive that this path of cooperation
and create things of value for all participants
is what will be the success factor for blockchain federation

people are sick of coins come and go within months
teams with anonymous people who disapear into the shadows they came from after sell their premine and break all their promises

and here they see a bunch of coins that are different
real people with real names no premine/ICO traps

real people
real participation
real projects
real communities

real path to success!

i hope XMG Magi a coin where i have a respectable share as part of my portfolio will join us there!

I see nothing why Magi should join this, sry. Huh
There will be always coins that come and go. Wink
Why is this ""Federated Blockchains" something Magi needs to join?

So I have a little story of good luck / bad luck that happened to me this month (so far).
A couple weeks ago my spare pc (magi miner) decided it was time to let out the magic smoke known as a motherboard and power supply and gave up the ghost.  So I spent 2 days building another spare out of spare parts, almost identical, and got it back up and mining.  I happen to be using that spare as my main system atm, read on.

A couple days after that, windows updates tried to kill my main system, recovered via a cloned drive I had made a month before, made a new clone.
The very next day AMD driver update came out and absolutely bricked the same pc, no devices, no usb, no keyboard or mouse, I could start it but could not get anywhere, recovered via the clone drive again, luckily these are SSD's so it doesn't take too long but still.  Ok that was last week.

Yesterday, on my main pc, I'm minding my own business watching some gaming videos and my pc pops and turns off, and will not power up again.  Swap out the power supply, no change (twice), so my main pc let out the magic dust and is toast.  So I pull the SSD, plug it into my spare as a data drive, copy all current data to the spare so I can at least do what I need to do, (order 2 new motherboards online), and here I am getting ready to make a current cloned drive of this system so I don't lose yet more time if something else goes wrong.

Point is - always have a backup and a backup of the backup if at all possible.  I had my wallets backup up and did not lose anything other than time Smiley  Just thought I'd share and remind everyone to have a backup, oh, and have a Merry Christmas!

Wow, lucky you had a backup of your wallet.dat.
I hope the badluck with your hardware will be over now for a long time.
Im not mining on my main pc, i need it for gaming and other hardwork Wink

Now that's a kool avatar Goldlabel!

Wow Redrover thats something. Very very good you had a backup. Hope you will have no problems with your computers in 2017. And i hope me and my family will have a year without accidents.
