Amen brotha
I can speak only for suprnova since I mine there, I see MagiSimpson is topdog over there for some time now, I don't know if he's here on forum following this thread but anyway: you should know that you (and some other big farmers) not doing anything good for yourself nor for Magi community. With hashrate that big you dont have any profit since reward is close to zero.
I completaly understand their point of view - its hard for them to cut down hash power if the other big miner don't, thinking "why should I reduce if the others won't?"
So we should/must find a solution that big miners (all of them) reduce their hash power for everybody's good.
The 1st thing that comes to my mind is: "bigger taxes for rich, smaller for poor". Meaning inventing something so the big miners will "have" to reduce power for them sakes.
@111magic you're doing great job with POM and all the other campaigns, like I already told you: keep the great work you're doing! You'll have all the support that you need from this amazing Magi community.
@hefty thanks for "getting" the point, like you said you could also mine with ~5000kh/s but you don't since there's no point of that. I just hope the other big miner will do the same.
I'm really skilless with pools, codes ecc...so don't know how this all works...but can we contact the pools and say to automatically add %fee above lets say 250kh/s? Bigger the hashpower-bigger fee? Is that doable?
Not even sure if that's a good move, it's just a quick thought. Maybe fee will get them to reduce power so we could all benefit from.
cheers guys
I certainly agree that the pool operators might like to do something about it. Their pockets are hit just as hard as miner's pockets. I might suggest going further than applying additional fees and actually going so far as to say that miners will not be credited with any shares over and above a certain level. That might drive the message home. However, we have to be aware that the smaller pools might be relying on one or two big miners just to stay in the game. That is one reason why it is so important to support the smaller pools. Get off Suprnova now - nothing personal about it - their market share is way above proportion and Noncepool too. Start supporting the two pools with less market share i.e. XMGpool and Maxminers. That way they will not be relying on big miners and might be more sympathetic to share-limiting or such like while still being able to maintain a significant market share.
Personally, I have a policy of switching the majority of my hashpower to the pool with the least support at any given time. I keep my eye on these things.
This gives me an idea for a new piece of software ...
