Hi all thanks a lot for the quality shares - we've just been going through the overnight emails and sharing and its fantastic stuff! Only a few have been excluded from not sharing but the vast majority have put up some amazing sharing screenshots - multiple medias, high follower numbers.
Even to those of you with low follower numbers, we really appreciate it, the hash-tagging will help the network pick up followers.
We were asked a question about "What advantages does ethPoker.io offer over the other poker sites" so we put a quick list together, and thought it would be useful to post it in here:
Was just wondering how you plan to over come your competitors. I mean what sets you apart from similar projects out there
Hi!
We're glad you asked this question as it gives us a chance to mention some our benefits!
Compared to other poker sites (even blockchain sites, which do not solve the block-time problem and basically operate like a normal site), our benefits include:
-
Bigger community. Through AirDrop, Crypto promotions, Pre-launch advertising and bonus campaigns, we will have a larger launch community than most of the large Poker websites that exist already. Your EPX won't be play money; it is the real currency used on the site tables
-
Wider variety. Although our cashier allows you to exchange your Tokens and/or Coins into EPX to play with them, we will offer some limited/unique events where you buy in with the actual crypto you have. We haven't settled all the details yet but think along the lines of "Monthly DOGECOIN tournament" just for a bit of interest/variety and to directly involve other communities
-
Fairness. Fairness, fairness, fairness. We will allow users to view the precalculated hand stack after the hands complete, via the hand-history, which will be blockchain integrated. You will see , first hand, that the 9 of Diamonds that hit on the river was a fair, randomised selection and was not produced on the spot to maximise your loss or improve table rake, or favour Pros.
-
Avoidance of Black Friday. That's right, we went there... We won't be ever in a situation like Full Tilt. Your money will stay in your wallets. We will not be running a huge account that stores everyone's money. The only time your funds will leave your wallet is when you join a cash table or begin a tournament. You will settle up anytime you time out of the table or leave the table, or win a cash-paying placement in the tournament results. This has taken some pretty epic programming i might add (hah self-plug for our engineering team - they're watching me write this)
-
Resilience and Legal protection: The website will be run from a swarm. In one of the first examples of this, we will not be serving future web content out of a web server. The swarm is geographically diverse. It is not reliant on one IP or country or connection. The DNS records running the connectivity will be GeoDNS and no single server group will be authoritative for it. The Poker client software, will be distributed by Torrent or Swarm, to achieve the same result. Table content and lists as well as player tracking will occur on the blockchain, using a combinatin of nodes, clients, and network-elected distribution point nodes.
-
Licensed: despite being located in a network swarm with no fixed geo location, we will obtain licensing and base our operations from the isle of man. We have some contacts and preferential license arrangements in that location. We also have a backup plan for another location if someone occurs in this location. There are always options for us in this situation due to the design of the software/layout/blockchain method.
-
VIP program: Some sites only give lip-service to their VIP programs. We don't. We take our VIPs very very seriously. This is going to be run like a high-end Vegas VIP program. If you are one of our high-rollers, you will be treated like a high-roller. If you aren't a high roller - to an extent you will STILL be treated like a high-roller.
We have excellent rake back and bonus schemes planned. We feel this can be a very profitable company/project and yet still offer incredibly generous benefits to its users. The owners of sites like Pokerstars and Full Tilt were often taking millions in payments to themselves, giving out many millions in direct payments to sponsored Pros, etc. They seemed to forget to look after the little guy, the guy playing in $100 tables with a $500 balance, who is usually the life-blood of the site. we won't forget those players, we have a VIP program tailored for the majority, not the other way around.
We have many others. Just don't want to do a big sales pitch in a bitcoinTalk thread or anything
hope this helps answer your Qs!!
PS: I had a few IMs about contributions, to buy EPX Now you need to nominate yourself on our private Pre-sale. It technically closed already but some people didn't submit their ETH yet so I have some slots. Email
