It wasn't me but this shit is genius. I highly suspect the Icelandic authorities hired a crew to do this as the resources needed to do this, this quickly are huge.

Sounds like BCX making stuff up to appease his vendetta against Auroracoin.

Funny how people keep talking about not getting confirmations and even the coinedup exchange commented on it.  Apparently everyone is unaware of BCX's tests... He may actually be getting a result (freezing the block chain for everyone and mining coins at zero difficulty).

If anyone hasn't noticed it appears someone else is already testing a TW exploit and slowing the AUR chain down.
Hence the chain slowing to a crawl in the absence of proportional diff increases.

Keep in mind, anything that is limited to the cpu level of mining will totally owned by the botnetters as soon as any coin becomes profitable.
I made a killing with XPM.

Damn, you're right.  Idiots run Windows boxes and continually get Pwned by botnets.
Trust me, I know LOL

Somebody took a version of CryptoLocker 2.0, you know the nasty little ransom ware variant that encrypts all your valuable files and uses asymmetrical encryption that requires you to buy the private key when you submit the public key and combined it with Auroracoin. The ransome payment addresses are the premine wallet addresses LOL...In addition it also has a wallet stealer and keylogger.

What's worse, it's being distributed via a large botnet in Eastern Europe and ESET is already on it. Meaning in just a few short days every major anti-virus software will be screaming like a scalded dog when anything AUR gets near any Windows machine that has auto updates.
It's not a hackjob of Cryptolocker, it's a whole new version.
Good luck with the air drop.

I get the feeling auroracoin is gonna be the dump of the century

6 days til the supposed airdrop, less than 1,500 likes on their facebook page, twitter with less than 3,000 followers so I can't see the majority of the nation claiming their coins as planned = lots of pre-mined coins going begging.

How exactly are you going to verify people? I've seen mention of something which the majority of the country haven't even signed up to, or asking for copies of I.D which opens this up for a massive identity theft risk.

It's all too foggy, and reeks of scam.

If he was going to dump the pre-mine that would have happened already. There are people scanning the pre-mine addresses
automatically and will post here if the coins are moved from pre-mine.
Pretty sure they said many times it could takes months or a year even to get coins out to everyone.

And while you all complain and cry... I watch the price rising to make some money.

Maybe you're right, kudos if you are, and grats for profiteering from trading in AUR.

I'm hardly crying about it, it's no skin off my nose as I don't own a single AUR, don't intend to, was just posting how I see it

Maybe he's waiting for the volume in buy orders to pick up to make the most he can, maybe he's waiting til the 'air drop' so nobody will be suspicious when coins start moving out of those wallets, or maybe it's actually legit (although I'm seeing little evidence so far to support this)

I do find it odd however that with 6 days before this supposed drop there is still no concrete confirmation of how it is going to work, and despite the coin seemingly making the press & being discussed by their parliament the lack of interest their nation is taking in it but people are buying at 0.02 when that price will plummet if the air drop fails or those pre-mine coins mysteriously make their way onto an exchange.

That, and this https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/delete-522354

If this ends up being legit, it could be incredibly huge. I got goosebumps just thinking about what the success of AUR could bring to the crypto community.

I forgot to update my auroracoin qt client. I sent 2 coins to mintpal a few days ago. The transaction still shows 0 confirmations in my qt, and doesn't show up at all on mintpal. I updated to the latest client. Am I simply out of luck?

redownload the block chain.. use the block explorer to check if your acc still holds the coins... if you were on a fork i dont think it would register on the block explorer

Thanks I will do that.

It happened to me as well, I sent coins to mintpal with wallet 1.1 and It shows 0 confirmations. I update to 1.2 wallet, rescan the blockchain, but it shows the same!! Can someone help me solve this?

You can check both your wallet's coins and the mintpal address saldo on blockchain explorer.

Try putting
1) The transaction id
2) your wallet address(es)
3) mintpal address

to http://auroraexplorer.atorox.net/chain/AuroraCoin

You'll find out where the coins actually are.

Try this.

1. Make a backup copy of your wallet.dat file.

2. Open a command prompt in the folder where your auroracoin-qt.exe  is.  (Hold down the shift key and right click, then "open command window here" )

3. Type in auroracoin-qt.exe --salvagewallet.

Above instructions are assuming you are running Windows.
