I'm not totally against promotions but 40,000 coins, in cold storage or not, is not going to look good for the coin after it launches proper. I must be destroyed.

I vote for burning the extra coins, it will help the community. Also, I definitely vote to never simply GIVE away coins as promotions to people, we don't have any to spare. If we want to be on mintpal and buy that I would not be against it. However, I am strongly against giving any coins away to people. Everyone here today had to pay in some way or another. No free lunch here.

I don't like the idea of releasing these coins down the road at some point. Us as investors could take a hit if that happens. I also don't like the idea of the remaining coins being held by one person. Trust has to be earned.

Yes please listen to the investors. I see you decided on cold storage yet I don't see a single person here asking for that. Please destroy them for the good of the coin.

I've decided to buy in on XBC myself. I'd love to see the promotion of the coin increase and I'm also very much in favor of destroying the excess coins (ALONG WITH COMPLETE TRANSPARENCY throughout that process). With proper marketing this could be a very lucrative venture for all of us! Let's do it right! We need to get this thing on mintpal!
Awesome, welcome aboard. With a little elbow grease we can send this coin to the moon. It's got the interest brewing the trollbox shows that and the IPO is getting swallowed up. I PMed the dev to see about getting reddit/facebook/twitter/IRC going. Hopefully he's getting the website together and the explorer goes up so we can get on coinmarketcap.

Anyone having a wallet that is not syncing? I have no connections. Been a few hours now. Thanks for any and all help.
By the way, I did check my firewall, and the QT is allowed to pass traffic.

So are we killing the 50k pre-mined coins? If the dev does that, maybe we could pitch in so the dev can have 1BTC or so to buy some on the open exchange.
Good idea, if dev donates the coins I'm fine with him starting a contribution wallet for either XBC or BTC, I'd donate.
Yeah, not a bad idea. Keep 7500 for promotions/infrastructure, destroy the remaining 40K. Dev starts a contribution wallet in BTC (to be used to purchase XBC off the market) and XBC (for additional coin building "stuff").
