Hi, I am wondering if I have been missed out on a payment /payments from the multipool as I mined it from 5pm my time Monday last week to 5pm Friday, as well as a few hours of Saturday/Sunday because I had it as a fall back while I was mining another pool.

Thanks.

My wallet now resynched and up to date (last downloaded block was 463472) and balance correctly showing, including a recent deposit from Bittrex.

Thanks for your help.  Smiley

as I understand it, a full sync is what I'm having to do, so I'll delete the blk0001.dat file as well as the others referred to in my earlier post below - thanks

Apologies - I get easily confused - just so I'm 100% clear, these are the steps I should be taking:

(the wallet is already backed up)

1.delete peers.dat, blkindex.dat and the database folder

2. delete the existing bootstrap.dat file from the folder

3. drag and drop the original bootstrap.dat file (i.e. from my download history) back into the folder

4. launch - which, AFAIK, I can only do by restarting the wallet.

Correct?

Thanks.

Yes, that's all correct.

I've found one node stuck now, so looking into it, it appears a orphan block is causing it, so will push a checkpoint to help syncing.

Stuck node now working after bootstrap resync, all seed nodes now working normally.  If you are stuck, it does appear a full resync is required as you are stuck on a orphan block so further blocks are stopped from downloading.

Edit: to save any panic, bittrex is currently syncing their wallet.

Thanks - restarted the wallet twice, both times stuck at the same block 458314.

Re the full resync., having deleted peers.dat, blkindex.dat and the database folder, do i need to delete and reinstall the bootstrap.dat file before restarting the wallet or can i use the bootstrap.dat file that's already in the folder?

Thanks again to you and Bitstar_coin for your help.

bootstrap should now be called bootstrap.dat.org after its used.  you would need to rename it back again for it to process again.

If that still doesn't work

Please zip up your debug.log and email to [email protected]

Thanks - one more question: do I delete the blk0001.dat as well as the blkindex.dat file - thanks

Only if you want to do a full resync

Thanks - noted  Smiley

I'll post again when it's been done and the wallet (finally/hopefully!) resynched.

That is correct. You can check progress as soon as you start your wallet.
Just go to the folder where you placed the bootstrap.dat
You will see blk0001.dat & blkindex.dat size increase.

Just drag/drop the original bootstrap.dat file back into your folder & launch.
(I ran the full sync about 8 hours ago and it worked well, no need to restart)

Note - You can see your progress in the appdata/roaming/Bitstar folder as it
reads from the bootstrap file.

Before you delete blk/index.dat try at least one wallet re-start (if you have not already)
just to confirm that it is hanging at the same block height.

Still cannot replicate this problem on any of the test wallets in any OS, but please try the following:

download http://www.bitstarcoin.com/bootstrap.dat
backup
close wallet
go to %appdata%/bitstar
delete peers.dat

(optional for full resync- delete blk* and database folder)
put bootstrap.dat into this folder
restart wallet

Thanks - I did as indicated in bold above.

However, once the 'importing bootstrap blockchain data file' process had completed, the wallet was still stuck at block 458314 and after some 60 minutes running it's still not synching - instead the number of 'blocks remaining' has increased to 3628:

Subject to any further advice, I'll try again, this time going for a full resync by deleting the blk* file and database folder along with the peers.dat file.

btw, my os is windows 7, professional.

There is the possibility that one exchange is affected as well.
I just sent a withdraw from Crypto-Trade.com and nothing after 1 hour.

Just go to %appdata%/bitstar and delete peers.dat, that contains all ips your client as seen. resetting should start you from our master seed nodes.

OK, deleted peers.dat and restarted the wallet but same result as before: still stuck at block 458314 and not synching  - after about 15 or 20 minutes the wallet stopped connecting to the network.

What can I do next to get the wallet synching?

Thanks.

You could do a full resynch which will work.

-Go to appdata/roaming and back up your wallet.dat & Bitstar.conf file (if you have a conf file) delete everything else.

-Download bootstrap here - http://www.bitstarcoin.com/bootstrap.dat

-Drag and drop bootstrap.dat into your appdata/roaming/Bitstar folder

-Launch wallet - expect about 4 hours to synch

-After synch your bootstrap.dat will be renamed as bootstrap.dat.old which you can safely delete to get back drive space.

Thanks

OK, I'll delete the following

Database
.lock
blk0001.dat
blkindex.dat
db.log
debug.log
peers.dat

And leave in place the wallet.dat file which I'll also back up into a separate location - presumably in case anything  goes wrong with the resync and I have to start again

There is no conf file. Should there be? My wallet version is v1.2.0.0-adgr

Thanks for your help.
