no it is not required, however you may wish to withdraw to your desktop client at some point. Desktop client is safer than keeping coins online and out of your direct control.

I like the idea of being active in the community and earn some coins via airdrop for your efforts/hardwork. To add to this, it is also wonderful to know that the earned coins will be staked online as compared to wallet. I think this makes the online activity more interesting. This is one of the unique ways of giving away coins to people and I am sure everyone including myself appreciate your efforts.

Have signed up for the Airdrops and looking forward to getting my credentials shortly.
