Alright I finally figured it out.
What the problem was.
Wallet will not sync - no connections, no nothing, just cannot connect to anything.
Getting this in the log file
ERROR: CAddrman::Read() : open failed

Step 1. Open your wallet.
Step 2. Go to the Help menu
Step 3. Go to the Debug Window
Step 4. Select the Console tab
Step 5. Type in "addnode 54.201.194.238 onetry" (without quotations)
- i had tried using addnode add and it didn't work.
Step 6. Take a deep breath and a sigh of relief.

Please just tell me it is a simple mistake somewhere. I have added all the addnodes everyone says. I don't even care about solo mining any more. all I want is for the wallet to sync so I can start recieving from the pool stress free.
