Congrats on a smooth launch. Hopefully big things in store.

Thanks.  Taking with a newer exchange right now about getting listed.  Hopefully good news soon on that front.

Just released version 0.2.4.1.  It is just a maintenance release with two features:  Another checkpoint record was added, and a patch to the source that allows for building with older versions of Libevent.

In other news: As of this writing we have about 2.5 PH of miners working on Bitcoin Rebooted, we represent about 1% of that.

Its maybe a minor milestone, but the number of coins in circulation are now more than double what was pre-mined prior to announcing on November 4th.

Please follow us on Twitter, the publicity helps.  https://twitter.com/BRebooted

Great launch!

Worked out a few link kinks and have at least (2) public pools now.  Great conversation over on Discord https://discord.gg/srXW6fJ.  Appears we have about a PH of mining currently going on.   (And that is NOT us propping up the coins, we only have about 22Th pointed at it).

Please keep the questions coming and help get the word out.

Expect a minor release bump soon to add another checkpoint record.

Thanks for adding me and thanks for launching the coin, I really like this bit of your announcement:

Segwit support has been removed from the original source tree - we don't believe in it and feel it punishes miners via reduced transaction fees

My (somewhat uneducated) understanding of Bitcoin with block halving and transaction fees is that as the block reward to miners drops the transaction fees were meant to supplement/reward miners instead, a transition from block rewards paying for securing the network to transaction fees supporting the network. You obviously already know this but would just like to put it out there for people who do not realize this.

Its also really nice to see another coin with some technical expertise behind it instead of the 101 clones where the 'devs' don't understand the code they are deploying.

We appreciate your comments!  Thank you.  The website FAQ talks about this a bit more, but we have been in the Bitcoin ecosystem since early 2014.  There is a lot to learn, and we don't claim to know it all by any means - but we felt we had enough expertise to get this effort underway.

Oh, your "somewhat uneducated" comment is dead on.

block 7000!!!! you could have easily mined on testnet for testing and done a reboot. but 7K X 50 coins = 35000 coins as premine!

You slipped a digit... closer to 200,000 coins.  The coin was announced around block 3900 and mined by non-developers shortly thereafter.  Check the Twitter posts for a history.  With a maximum coin supply of 268,234,500 coins, that represents less than 1/10th of 1% of the coin supply.

As stated on the website, we did in fact spend months (over 1000 hours) testing on -testnet prior to starting mining on Mainnet.  But there is no way to generate valid checkpoint records on mainnet via testnet.  This was a small compromise to insure some chain stability.

link to github? I dont see a source posted here or on the site.
the downloads page link gives to a 404 error... Though I wouldnt ever recommend anyone to blindly download from a random website either.

https://bitbucket.org/ccgllc/Bitcoin-Rebooted

Added to the announcement, thanks.

FYI:  Source link is also on the Download page on the coins website - but your point about random websites is 100% valid.

Download link fixed.

Been mining with a GekkoScience 2Pac for a couple days.

OP contributed to one-minute fork and new DAA for BitcoinCore $BTCC.
