Has your team been to any major blockchain conferences? Are you planning to attend any soon?

Deconet has a presence at most of the bay area events. One of the co-founders of Deconet, David Sneider is speaking at the Global Blockchain Forum in Santa Clara, CA tomorrow. You should say hello if you're there!

That is really great. I bet you guys learn a lot and get your name out there. Great to know. I will definitely keep my eye out for Deconet at events I make it out to.

Appreciate that, please say hi when you do. And don't forget to join the Telegram channel if you haven't yet. A lot of conversation and questions get answered there, as well as conferences/events that we're participating in.

Thanks for the reminder, I just joined. I like how active the Telegram is and how everyone is really helpful and responsive. I highly recommend joining if you are interested in Deconet Smiley

Has Deconet been in any news articles lately?

I really appreciate how developers will have access via the command line and that Git is compatible. I can tell the Deconet team is experienced. Will you guys be using smart contracts for licensing?

Once you purchase some open source code, can you then alter it? I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the details.
Restrictions will differ by license, but the value of open source code lies with your ability to use it and modify it to fit your specific needs. Some examples of the process can be found in this article. Also, please make sure to join our Telegram for updates.

It is good to see that there will likely be the ability to modify the code to do what you need. I think that's the major concern I was having because, as you said, that is the value of open source code. It makes sense that certain licenses will have different restrictions. Thanks for the examples. It is more clear now.

How did the team come up with this project? What is the main goal you guys hope to accomplish with Deconet?
Hi! Deconet is part of a movement to make open source a more viable career path. I would recommend taking a look at this latest article that explains very well how/why we want to solve for this problem. https://medium.com/deconet/the-new-deal-for-the-open-source-community-92567f68f3a3. Additionally, this deep dive video interview with one of the co-founders, David Sneider, should give you a great overview as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Urq97FQsvDQ

Thanks for the reply and for providing helpful links. I believe you guys have a solid project that provides real solutions that could positively change open-source development. I really like the idea of having a marketplace for code. It is an excellent idea and I also really like that you are helping individual coders leverage dual licensing.

I really like the idea behind this project. Does Deconet have any big partnerships? If so, who is your biggest so far?

Man, this is like asking "Which kid is your favorite?"  Wink
Rivetz is our latest partnership announcement. Rivetz's enhanced security capabilities will be used as a security and trust layer for developer projects using the Deco.Network protocol. Stay connected to Deco.network to learn about partnerships as they are announced via:

I think it is so cool that you guys are helping open-source developers make money. I don't think people understand how much work goes into open-source code and how many people use it. I think this is a great idea and will incentivize more development.

What coins can you use on deconet?
Exactly... couldn't agree more. Consumers will be able to transact on Deconet in Ethereum or any approved token, including USD pegged stable coins. Additionally Deconet Tokens (DCO) are used for access, bounties, curation, and payment. Check into the whitepaper for more details https://deco.network/whitepaper.pdf

That sounds perfect. Also, thanks for your help and being so responsive. I really appreciate that in a team.  Cheesy

Do you get discounts for using DCO instead of ETH?
Great question! Yes, you get rewarded by paying in DCO.

An additional incentive to keep in mind if you have any projects ready to put on the testnet: (from our whitepaper)
Developers and other community advocates who join the testnet and are active will be put on a special whitelist that enables them to receive a discount at the time of the Token Generation Event (TGE). Our hope is that the entire token allocation for the TGE is taken by developers who are active on our testnet.

It is good to see you guys are rewarding use of DCO. I think that's very important. Also, I will keep that in mind about the discount at TGE. That's an excellent idea as well. When is the TGE?

I have heard great things about the bounty program for this project but I haven't done many bounties before. Where do I go to get started and what is required?

No worries, this one is super easy to join. Just head over to: http://bounty.deco.network. Once you're there, you'll plug in your social media platform usernames, and check out the steps for linking to specific blog posts. Details are listed on the bounty site. And then give us your feedback on our Telegram channel! http://t.me/deco_network

Perfect. I got registered easily with no issues. Thanks for the help.

This project is very solid and promising. You already have a working product and a really great team. How did you guys meet and come up with Deconet? Were you guys developers who experienced the struggles with open source development?

Wow, this is probably one of the better paying bounty programs I've seen. Glad I found this.

You weren't kidding. This bounty is my new priority.

Thanks for the feedback! We are pretty excited about the bounty program! Keep us informed and love to hear your thoughts on our Telegram channel, http://t.me/deco_network, as you get further into the program.

I definitely will be joining that Telegram soon. Do you guys have a really active community there as well?

Do you think a talented developer could work full time on a platform like Deconet?
Yes, that's absolutely the vision for what Deconet is building. We think open source developers should be able to earn a living working from anywhere. Check out this article that explains the model. Also, David Sneider talks a bit about this in his deep dive video interview with Origin.

Also - don't forget to join the conversation on http://t.me/deco_network!

How successful has the bounty campaign been so far? Are you getting a lot of interest? It's one of the better bounties I've seen.
Thanks for the feedback! The bounty program is picking up speed, but it certainly helps the more people help promote. Would love if you tell all your friends!
