why is the sale of 5500 coins less than 2 days long?  was expecting for the 5500 coin sale to last at least 4 days or so.  thanks

The reason we put the coin sale at @6600 after the first change, was to give the original participants a bonus for jumping on board early.  We were going to drop it to @3000 immediately, but felt the sudden drop would make it difficult for the next group to participate.  For those who still want to participate, the BRO per btc is still attractive and will remain so imho even @3000 BRO per btc.

does the wallet not work? it's not downloading anything

Did you recently make a purchase?  You MUST make sure to make a copy of your json file and password.  DO NOT LOSE THEM.  Once the BRO is ready to launch you will be able to acquire your coins using the json file and password.

Check the OP.

fyi. time estimates were based on 10 minute bitcoin blocks.. due to increase hashrate.. block times have been averaging 8.5 minutes, so expect levels to come faster.

The balance checker doesn't work probably.

I've invested BTC at the rate of 1 btc = 6000 BRO and the balance said that i would have around 1768 BRO.

Today, the rate is at 1 btc = 5500 BRO, i check my balance again, it says that i only have around 1600 BRO. Why is my BRO going down base on the rate?

There have been problems with the balance checker when the rate is adjusted.  We will have the developer check/fix this.  We will post and update as soon as it is corrected.  Most likely due to the recent change in terms.

Please pm us your transaction ID or btc address, so we can make sure it's the balance checker that is the problem.

**edit** the balance checker should be working fine.  Please try again, if you are still getting the same results, send us your btc address and tx ID.  Thanks.

Edit: after refresh web page, we are unable to recreate any balance issues. Please reply if anyone still has issues.

Note. the balance checking tool depends on public blockchain apis, and is just a tool for your convenience.. your actual breakoutcoin genesis balance will be correct.

Sorry, I'll try not to be so snarky.

The OP still says the price is 6000.  Please change that.

In my book JakeThePanda has earned the right to be snarky. He's also very helpful and supportive.  Thanks Jake  Grin

1. Can you get a PoD from CryptoAsian? Who are the devs here? Why haven't you gotten a PoD? Every other ICO does this, why can't you?

C'mon Man. Seriously?

I'll help you do your own PoD.  The developer of the coin is Jay Berg http://fundraiser.breakoutgaming.com/the-team/
https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/jaybny-10252

BUT, who cares about the actual coin.  The value of the coin is tied to the success of the gaming platform.  The question you should be asking is who is behind the gaming platform?  The answer to that is in the same place.

Thanks! No need to get snarky. This kind of info should be on the OP.

tx42, thank you for all your important questions.

1.  We will ask the Developer if he wishes to provide a PoD from CryptoAsian.  PoD is usually required from a coin project where the individuals are not well known.  Considering the public figures that are very well known involved with the project, there was not an urgent need for this.  But, we will consider this and will request the devs if they would do this for the Breakout Community.

2.  There will be ongoing discussion about any leftover coins.  Yes, they can be burned along with the Bergstake.  We will be communicating with the community closely if and when we get into the situation.  All our decisions will take feedback from the community into any final decisions.  Why are we confident?  We are very cognizant of the current state of the Bitcoin/Altcoin market that has put the "coin sale" in a situation where the expectations are somewhat disappointing.   When the coin sale continues, the hope is that with more transparency and advances in the project, coupled with a better mood for "coin sale" participation along with far more expected public awareness, we will instill confidence and attract a wider, more diverse group of participants in the next round.  We have recently hired on Transform.pr as our PR firm.

Leftover coins is less a problem with BRO than other coins.  Once Breakout Gaming launches, by their using BRO denominated chips and the necessity to buy BRO coins in reserve for all the BRO chips on their platform.  There will hopefully be a strong demand for BRO from day one.  The attraction of BRO here, is that an International Licensed Gaming company that uses "fiat" payment processing will be required to buy BRO on a daily basis to cover their reserves.  If Breakout Gaming gains one million targeted users over the next few years, the amount of "fiat" processing that will be needed to buy BRO in reserve will be in the millions.  You do the math.

3.  There are several reasons for Breakout Gaming to use a new cryptocurrency as their in-house currency.  1.  Using cryptocurrency, there is minimal to zero processing  costs and hold requirements.  2.  The pre-mined giveaway coins allow Breakout Gaming to use those coins to leverage the maximum registered users, something that "fiat" only gaming companies would need tens of millions or dollars for equivalent player acquisition.  3.  The BRO coin has potential for growth for the Gaming Company as their user base expands.  And yes, the purpose of a "coin sale" is typically to fund a project, but in this case it has a dual purpose of spreading out the coins to a wide and diverse community as possible/and raising funds.

4.  Did answer number three cover this question? Dividing all the remaining coins among a small group would not be healthy for the long-term stability of the network.

Disclaimer: Breakout Coin and Breakout Gaming are two separate services/entities.  Breakout Coin is offering BRO coins for btc. By participating in this "coin sale," you are not purchasing interest in Breakout Gaming.  You are solely participating in the "coin sale" of a crypto coin that happens to have a gaming company that supports the BRO coin by having their chips denominated in the BRO crypto coin.

As specified in the first paragraph in the Terms and Conditions:

WARNING:  Do not purchase BRO if you are not an expert in crypto tokens or currency and blockchain technology.

This coin sale is not an offer of investment or securities in any business, venture, or company, or in any form of gaming operations or activity; purchase of BRO does not entitle the buyer to any interest in any profits or revenue of any common enterprise arising from the activities of others.

Guys, more questions:

1. Can you get a PoD from CryptoAsian? Who are the devs here? Why haven't you gotten a PoD? Every other ICO does this, why can't you?

2. You exude a lot of confidence that you will be able to sell what is left from the ICO on the aftermarket. (a) Why do you have this confidence? (b) What happens to the coins if you can't find buyers? Not every ICO goes to completion. Can coins leftover from the aftermarket be destroyed along with their Bergstake? If you have leftover coins, even from the ICO phase, it's going to kill confidence in the crypto. Leftover coins will be especially damaging post-aftermarket.

3. What advantage does a cryptocurrency have over an in-house currency? Why are you going this route? Isn't having a cryptocurrency just an easy way to raise funds (loaded question, but deal with it)?

4. If the ICO is about giving the crypto-community a crack at the coins, then why do you have an funding target? Why not just pull the remaining coins, or better yet, divide them according to ICO investment?

Thanks for your answers!

To delete posts -even the fact that you have a self-moderated thread- is very, very wrong and counter productive; much better and classier to respond to negative views/accusations with "we are sorry that you don't like our project..."

Give anyone, including yourself, the chance to censor contrarian comments and 100 out of 100 times, he will do exactly that. Even when doing it will result in shooting himself on the foot. Sad reality.

What usually happens is that trolls say the same thing over and over and over even though their comments have been addressed (or ignored) a thousand times already.

An ANN thread is a place for information, not for troll spam.

If anyone feels the need to repeat themselves indefinitely, there is a free-speech button on this page somewhere, where anyone can start a thread and say anything they want.

Free speech != spam a thread with troll posts

Hope that helps!
