Just updated and immediately got EOS -1 error.
Same here - couldn't connect to server.

Reindex did the trick.

Congratz. Make a note when you get to "repairwallet".

Any information if BTCZ will still be mineable with 3gb 1060?

ZHash in its current state is able to mine BTCZ with 2.6GB of RAM which is less than 3GB. The 1060 3GB card is the lowest end card we want to support. As far as I know, as long as it is not being used as a video card by windows, then it should be able to mine.

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. When will we be rich ?

In real world terms we normally call that theft.

C'mon. Still taking everyone for being idiots.

Keep that thing behind your own fence.

What about the 1050 Ti 4Gb cards? Only the memory size counts or the CUDA cores too?
If ZHash is only more memory intensive than 4Gb version of 1050 Ti GPUs should also work.

good to know there is people fight to centralization and greedy bitmain. ill mine it and ill buy it.
but anyway, is there any AMD GPU mining software?

*Please take in mind that it is a SOFT fork (like an update ) so there is NO coin split or something and no danger to lose coins in your btcz wallet*

In BTCz we trust. Organic slow growth.
dev are u plan to burn some about 80% or 70% of coin for growing price?

You still deserve an answer.

Here is your response:

There are no free BTCz handed to anyone to "burn" This coin is 100% mined by regular miners. Devs took no tax and no premines.

The coin burning happens with ERC20 tokens where devs "print millions of coins out of thin air" and they feel bad and burn some of the "free coins" none of those are "mined" they are just minted out of thin air.

Introducing ZHash, a new hashing algorithm with the goal of hardening the Equihash protocol to be more ASIC resistant. The ZHash algorithm works by increasing the hardware requirements of Equihash to make development of an ASIC appliance less viable. The goal of ZHash is to put GPU mining on a level playing field with ASICs and FPGAs as far as hashing rates and costs are concerned so that they do not get too much of an advantage.

On block 160,000 around June 15th ~ 16th BitcoinZ will fork to the ZHash algorithm to prevent ASIC miners on the network. Before the fork, all nodes and wallets should be updated to the latest version to help support the new algorithm.

List of things that have been released:

Still needed:
  • Optimized GPU miner for AMD
  • Testers

Let us know how you can help!

The ZHash algorithm is based on the Equihash 144,5 variant and was primarily based on the development of @tromp, The BitcoinZ project, and The ASIC Resistance consortium.

Hey Renzuit. So to clarify, this CUDA miner wont work until block 160,000, correct?

Hi developers!

Please explain us what makes the ZHash algorithm unique face to the Equihash-BTG algorithm announced by the BTG team?
https://forum.bitcoingold.org/t/our-new-equihash-equihash-btg/1512

As far as I see both teams will change from Equihash <200,9> parameters to Equihash <144,5> variant, which significantly decreases the threat of ASIC miners.

But why are these 2 names and what is the difference between ZHash / Equihash-BTG? Thanks for your explanation!

BitcoinZ: ASIC resistant coin with unique ZHash algorithm

BTG has 100,000 coins premined for its devs. Equal to $4,500,000. The big problem with premine is that devs continue to sell from their stash as soon as a buy order shows up and the coin can never really gain momentum. In real world terms we normally call that theft.

BTCz has NO PREMINE.

That's the difference.

Alright I see you guys posted an updated wallet and stuff... can someone explain to us noobs how to update wallet and also I am using equipool miner (bminer) which is giving really great results on my 1080's I am going to be able to use same software for that or I'll have to switch to something else. Thanks!
