So, how is this going to work? Is the current web-based chat just a prototype? Is the final chat going to be fully decentralized with people chatting via the wallet? Or what other role will the web-based chat play?

Sorry I don't quite understand what you are saying. I don't see anything decentralized here, could you elaborate a bit on how this will be decentralized?
